Priyo Sasmoko, in this paper explain that the need of electric power recently progressively complex, not only the requirement of availability of electricity, but the quality of energy have become prime facie demand. Studies of electricity quality have been conducted by many experts, one of them is about harmonic. Harmonic represent waving current or tension which is tension distortion at electric power system mains so that can result unideal waveform. The study of harmonic required appliance or obyek which need to be checked. In this research Simulator Generator Harmonik is made  a harmonic generator module which can deputize the appliance or obyek yielding harmonic with harmonic component and the THD which can be varried. This module works by dividing one cycle of mains become some slots so it can be got harmonic component as desired. To change the THD,a variation of linear load is used so that the ratio of non-linear load current can be varried. Keywords : Simulator, Harmonic component, THD

Bali National Golf Resort has a high level of non-linear load usage. A harmonic is emerged due to a high level of non-linear load usage which was the main problem on the quality of electric power. On the other hand, it is also lead to an adverse impact for the electric power system such as the wave form and voltage were not sinusoidal. Then, in order to reduce it, an active filter could be used as one of the best way. This research focused on the simulation of PID (Proportional Integral Derivate) Controller towards an active filter to reduce the harmonic and MATLAB R2013 software that applicated as the instrument. As the result, the usage of PID Controller on the active filter could reduce the THDi into 1.89% and THDv into 0.59 % as an average percentage at Bali National Golf Resort.

The term power quality is inescapable when it comes to Electric power system. The main intent of the researchers and different organizations all over the world is to provide the consumers with quality power. Practically, it is difficult to achieve quality power as there are number of issues associated with Electric power system called as power quality problems. Harmonics, transients, use of non linear loads, interruptions etc. are the factors which cause disturbances in the electric power system and thus leads to the deterioration in the quality of power. These disturbances are the major challenges to the power quality and must be analyzed properly before mitigating them. The paper has put emphasis on the major disturbances in the power grids. The paper is also considerate about the causes and effect of these disturbances in the power grids.

Non linear load harmonics cause, Air Conditioning is one of the main types of inverters that generate non linear load harmonics. Harmonics on the Air Conditioning so that the reduction must not interfere with the quality of power on the system and network. The ability of an Air Conditioning unit to cool a room can be known as Coefficient Of Performance (COP). This can be seen from the comparison between the heat energy required to cool the room with the electric energy used on the unit. In this case you will know the impact caused by the reduction of the harmonics of the COP. Reduction of harmonics used in this study using 16 F capacitor which also serves as a power factor improvement. The results obtained after using the capacitor found impairment harmonic currents (IHDi). After the measurement of the COP also increased from 2,740 becomes 3,176. This proves that the capacitor also function besides improving the power factor can reduce the harmonics an improve the COP.

The paper presents the analysis of harmonic distortion when non-linear load is connected in different phases of power system with STATCOM for singly excited induction generator system with wind turbine as prime mover. Now-a-days due to the drastically increased in use of non linear loads causes many power quality problems in power system network. Those problems are classified as reactive power problems, harmonics, voltage sags and swells. Out of these problems harmonic problems are major concern. Custom power devices proposed for mitigation of power quality in network. For compensation of harmonic, static compensator (STATCOM) is used. The paper presents the compensation of harmonic power quality issues using STATCOM for the system with singly-excited induction generator feeding non-linear load connected in different phases. STATCOM is controlled using synchronous reference frame theory to produce pulses to switches of STATCOM sensing the input parameters. Proposed concept was developed using MATLAB/SIMULINK software and results are presented for non-linear load connected in different phases of the power system. THD analysis was shown for source current and load current for different cases.
