Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to develop a performance evaluation model for the operations of the supply chain of an organization of the refrigeration equipment sector. The tool must aid the decision maker in the performance improvement and creation of competitive advantages. Design/methodology/approach – The study adopts a mixture of qualitative and quantitative approaches and applies them through a case study. The data collection was conducted through unstructured interviews and supplemented by documentary research. The applied intervention instrument is the Multicriteria Decision Aid – Constructivist (MCDA-C). Findings – Identification, organization, ordinal and cardinal measurement and integration of the aspects of the context judged as relevant by the decision maker. In addition, it can be highlighted the current situation diagnosis and elaboration of improvement actions related to lean philosophy and advanced planning systems. Practical implications – The developed model is being used to aid the decision maker in their decisions concerning the improvement of the supply chain operations. Originality/value – The main contributions made by the paper resides in the proposal of solutions for fulfiling gaps identified within the supply chain performance evaluation area and in the application of the MCDA-C to a practical case. La herramienta debe ayudar a quién toma las decisiones en mejorar el desempeño y crear ventajas competitivas. Diseño/metodología/enfoque – El estudio usa una combinación de enfoques cualitativos y cuantitativos aplicándolos a un caso estudio. La recolección de datos se hizo a través de entrevistas no estructuradas y se complementó con investigación documental. El instrumento de intervención usado es el Multicriterio De Apoyo a la Decisión-Constructivista (MCDA-C). Hallazgos – Identificación, organización, mediciones ordinales y cardinales e integración de los aspectos de los contextos considerados como relevantes por el tomador de decisiones. Se puede destacar además la situación actual de diagnóstico y la elaboración de acciones de mejoramiento relacionados con la filosofía Lean y los Sistemas avanzados de planificación. Implicaciones prácticas – El modelo desarrollado esta siendo usado para ayudar al toma decisiones en las decisiones concernientes con el mejoramiento de las operaciones de la cadena de suministro. This research investigates the operation of smart transactions in the blockchain and demonstrates the process of transforming an existing system into the blockchain using the Hyperledger Blockchain Platform. The process includes determining business model requirements and redesigning the business model to be applied to the blockchain system using Hyperledger Composer. The supply management system is the selected case study due to its complexity that can be used to demonstrate blockchain implementation. This research explored the utilization of Hyperledger Fabric as well as Hyperledger Composer technology. The implemented system is then under test for performance evaluation. According to experimental results, read access has the shortest duration needed, which is 33% faster than Create, 69% compared to Delete, and 82% compared to Update. Update function has the longest average duration needed. Furthermore, reading using query would dramatically slow down the Read function with the increase of the average read duration over 10 commodities category by 12238.9%, over 100 commodities category by 1950%, and over 1000 commodities category by 308% than reading without using a query.

Construction supply chain management (cSCM) requires planning such that construction stages and logistics are coordinated and integrated to reduce costs, improve productivity, and generate a win–win situation for different parties. The supply chain operations reference (SCOR), which has been widely applied in other industries, is a standardized operational modeling methodology for analyzing supply chain processes. This study considers construction industry characteristics in applying the SCOR model to develop a dynamic cSCM model using computer simulation. Furthermore, this study developed a novel cSCM performance evaluation method using the SCOR method to evaluate cSCM performance and identify and solve cSCM problems. This study uses a bridge construction project as a case study, which determines the relationships among supply chain participants to enhance communication efficiency and identify problems related to materials management. The case study results demonstrate that the proposed hybrid modeling methodology helps construction supply chain participants identify their roles and communicate easily, helps project managers identify bottlenecks in a supply chain, and significantly improves cSCM performance.

This paper introduces a first level of the SCOR based Food Supply Chain’s Sustainable Performance Evaluation Model and a case study. The model connects environmental performance to the part of the supply chain performance. The aim of the model is to consider ecologic issues as a part of the strategic supply chain decisions and in that way to develop supply chain management more sustainable. The food supply chain’s sustainable performance model consists of the ecological, social, and environmental metrics. It bases e.g. on the level 1 SCOR-metrics. The developed method is used in the case study as a method. The results of the case study shows e.g. that if one production plant would be replaced with two plants the delivery time and delivery costs, waste and carbon dioxide emissions would decrease and production costs and investment costs would increase. The results of the case study show that individual measures of the environmental or economical performance are not enough when optimizing supply chains sustainable performance. Also optimizing production cost or delivery performance may differ from supply chain overall performance. More holistic way to measure overall sustainable performance are needed. The sustainable performance evaluation model seems to be useful way to improve sustainable supply chain management but more studies are needed.
