AbstractDirect and inverse source problems of a fractional diffusion equation with regularized Caputo-like counterpart of a hyper-Bessel differential operator are considered. Solutions to these problems are constructed based on appropriate eigenfunction expansions and results on existence and uniqueness are established. To solve the resultant equations, a solution to such kind of non-homogeneous fractional differential equation is also presented.

The initial-boundary value problems for the local fractional differential equation are investigated in this paper. The local fractional Fourier series solutions with the nondifferential terms are obtained. Two illustrative examples are given to show efficiency and accuracy of the presented method to process the local fractional differential equations.

Abstract This study investigates the solutions of an impulsive fractional differential equation incorporated with a pantograph. This work extends and improves some results of the impulsive fractional differential equation. A differential equation of an impulsive fractional pantograph with a more general anti-periodic boundary condition is proposed. By employing the well-known fixed point theorems of Banach and Krasnoselskii, the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the proposed problem are established. Furthermore, two examples are presented to support our theoretical analysis.

This paper concerns with the existence and uniqueness of the Cauchy problem for a system of fuzzy fractional differential equation with Caputo derivative of order q∈(1,2], 0cD0+qu(t)=λu(t)⊕f(t,u(t))⊕B(t)C(t),t∈[0,T] with initial conditions u(0)=u0,u′(0)=u1. Moreover, by using direct analytic methods, the Eq–Ulam-type results are also presented. In addition, several examples are given which show the applicability of fuzzy fractional differential equations.

AbstractIn this paper, some initial-boundary-value problems for the time-fractional diffusion equation are first considered in open bounded n-dimensional domains. In particular, the maximum principle well-known for the PDEs of elliptic and parabolic types is extended for the time-fractional diffusion equation. In its turn, the maximum principle is used to show the uniqueness of solution to the initial-boundary-value problems for the time-fractional diffusion equation. The generalized solution in the sense of Vladimirov is then constructed in form of a Fourier series with respect to the eigenfunctions of a certain Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problem. For the onedimensional time-fractional diffusion equation $$(D_t^\alpha u)(t) = \frac{\partial } {{\partial x}}\left( {p(x)\frac{{\partial u}} {{\partial x}}} \right) - q(x)u + F(x,t), x \in (0,l), t \in (0,T)$$ the generalized solution to the initial-boundary-value problem with Dirichlet boundary conditions is shown to be a solution in the classical sense. Properties of this solution are investigated including its smoothness and asymptotics for some special cases of the source function.

We establish a class of degenerate fractional differential equations involving delay arguments in Banach spaces. The system endowed by a given background and the generalized Showalter–Sidorov conditions which are natural for degenerate type equations. We prove the results of local unique solvability by using, mainly, the method of contraction mappings. The obtained theory via its abstract results is applied to the research of initial-boundary value problems for both Scott–Blair and modified Sobolev systems of equations with delays.
