SummaryA tetramer quadruplex structure is formed by four parallel strands of DNA/ RNA containing runs of guanine. These quadruplexes are able to form because guanine can Hoogsteen hydrogen bond to other guanines, and a tetrad of guanines can form a stable arrangement. Recently we have discovered that probes on Affymetrix GeneChips that contain runs of guanine do not measure gene expression reliably. We associate this finding with the likelihood that quadruplexes are forming on the surface of GeneChips. In order to cope with the rapidly expanding size of GeneChip array datasets in the public domain, we are exploring the use of cloud computing to replicate our experiments on 3′ arrays to look at the effect of the location of G-spots (runs of guanines). Cloud computing is a recently introduced high-performance solution that takes advantage of the computational infrastructure of large organisations such as Amazon and Google. We expect that cloud computing will become widely adopted because it enables bioinformaticians to avoid capital expenditure on expensive computing resources and to only pay a cloud computing provider for what is used. Moreover, as well as financial efficiency, cloud computing is an ecologically-friendly technology, it enables efficient data-sharing and we expect it to be faster for development purposes. Here we propose the advantageous use of cloud computing to perform a large data-mining analysis of public domain 3′ arrays.

In this generation of Internet, information and data are growing continuously. Even though various Internet services and applications. The amount of information is increasing rapidly. Hundred billions even trillions of web indexes exist. Such large data brings people a mass of information and more difficulty discovering useful knowledge in these huge amounts of data at the same time. Cloud computing can provide infrastructure for large data. Cloud computing has two significant characteristics of distributed computing i.e. scalability, high availability. The scalability can seamlessly extend to large-scale clusters. Availability says that cloud computing can bear node errors. Node failures will not affect the program to run correctly. Cloud computing with data mining does significant data processing through high-performance machine. Mass data storage and distributed computing provide a new method for mass data mining and become an effective solution to the distributed storage and efficient computing in data mining.

Purpose In the past decade, in the space industry, many initiatives intended at offering open access to big data from space multiplied. Therefore, firms started adopting business models (BMs) which lever on digital technologies (e.g. cloud computing, high-performance computing and artificial intelligence), to seize these opportunities. Within this scenario, this article aims at answering the following research question: which digital technologies do impact which components the BM is made of? Design/methodology/approach An exploratory multiple case study approach was used. Three cases operating in the space industry that lever on digital technologies to implement their business were analyzed. Despite concerns regarding reliability and validity, multiple case studies allow greater understanding of causality, and show superiority respect to quantitative studies for theory building. Findings Big data, system integration (artificial intelligence, high-performance computing) and cloud computing seem to be pivotal in the space industry. It emerges that digital technologies involve all the different areas and components of the BM. Originality/value This paper sheds light on the impact that digital technologies have on the different BM components. It is only understanding which technologies can support the value proposition, which technologies make the infrastructural part able to support this proposition, which technologies may be helpful for delivering and communicating this value to customers and which technologies may help firms to appropriate the value that it is possible to seize the impact of digital technologies on BM.

the integration of a multi-agent environment and a cloud platform is to the best of our knowledge a new concept in terms of elastic application to run on cloud platforms. Currently in literature can be found some works focused on merging cloud computing and multi-agent systems (MAS). These works focused on the using of clouds in MAS because MASs often require high-performance computing systems and large data storage devices, or using agents on cloud i.e. Providing agent-based solutions founded on the design and development of software agents for improving Cloud resources and service management and discovery. Scalability is an important issue in the successful deployment of cloud computing software since performance requirements can change over time. Therefore, it is often expected that the software can be scaled up or down to ensure the desired performance at minimal costs. In this paper a framework was proposed which can be used as a foundation for developing an application that uses resources elastically on the cloud. This framework which provides elastic resource provision to applications is based on the MAS.

SummaryCase reports cited in Medline or Biological Abstracts (1966-1996) were reviewed to evaluate the impact of vitamin K1 dietary intake on the stability of anticoagulant control in patients using coumarin derivatives. Reported nutrient-drug interactions cannot always be explained by the vitamin K1 content of the food items. However, metabolic data indicate that a consistent dietary intake of vitamin K is important to attain a daily equilibrium in vitamin K status. We report a diet that provides a stable intake of vitamin K1, equivalent to the current U.S. Recommended Dietary Allowance, using food composition data derived from high-performance liquid chromatography. Inconsistencies in the published literature indicate that prospective clinical studies should be undertaken to clarify the putative dietary vitamin K1-coumarin interaction. The dietary guidelines reported here may be used in such studies.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to find out and analyze the impact of regional own revenue (PAD), general allocation fund (DAU) and special allocation fund (DAK) on capital expenditure (BM)  in regencies/towns in South  Sumatera Province  for a period of 2010 to 2014. The data were analyzed by using multiple regression. There were four variables in this research. A dependent variable was capital expenditure (BM) and independent variables were regional own revenue (PAD), general allocation fund (DAU) and special allocation fund (DAK). The results showed that the regional own revenue and special allocation fund variables have positive and significant impact on the capital expenditure. This means that the higher the regional own revenue and special allocation fund, the regencies/towns increased the capital expenditure are also higher. General allocation fund do not have a significant effect on the capital expenditure (BM) in regencies/towns in South Sumatera Province for a period of 2010 to 2014

In Cloud computing environment QoS i.e. Quality-of-Service and cost is the key element that to be take care of. As, today in the era of big data, the data must be handled properly while satisfying the request. In such case, while handling request of large data or for scientific applications request, flow of information must be sustained. In this paper, a brief introduction of workflow scheduling is given and also a detailed survey of various scheduling algorithms is performed using various parameter.
