The target of the work is investigating the development of archetypal features of the Russian classical romance in the chamber-vocal S. Rakhmaninov’s creation of early period on the example of romances for the average voice. Vocal miniatures are the kind of lyric diary of the composer, which fully embodies the whole range of characteristic images and feelings. In this sense, romances are the kind of encyclopedia of Rakhmaninov’s creativity: it is impossible to find such wealth and variety of states, perhaps even in his brilliant concerts and symphonies. The methodology of the study is to use the art history, historical and cultural, analytical and comparative typological methods. This methodological campaign allows you to analyze the features of the genres of elegy, Russian song, „gesture romance” and their own interpretation by the composer. The scientific novelty of the work consists in broadening the concept of the imaginative multidimensionality of Rakhmaninov’s vocal miniatures, which is due to the synthesis of various traditions of the national school. Vocal works „contain” a full thematic „spectrumˮ of his musical world. Conclusions. The archetypal features of the Russian classical romance and the origins of vocal lyrics are most evident in the early period of the composerʼs work. Obviously, the scope of the scientific article does not allow paying serious attention to the entire vocal creativity of the author of the Bells, to consider 83 romances in full. Therefore, the work is limited studying of works for medium voice and piano. They fully embody the main genre and style features of Rakhmaninov’s chamber-vocal creativity. The early romances of the composer-lyric poet determine the future development of the chamber-vocal genre, anticipating the innovative treatment of vocal plays.

The article is devoted to early vocal works of P. Kozytsky. Mostly likely because of political situation, only a few opuses of early period of creativity of Ukrainian composer have survived until our times. Among them – Four romances for voice and piano op. 11. It is stated, that we can see modernistic vector of search in this opus. It is remarkable that poetic verses only of contemporary to Kozytsky authors has attracted his attention. Kozytsky became the first Ukrainian composer who wrote music to poem of Rabindranath Tagore, in particular, to his collection of verses named ―The Gardener‖. There was a great wave of attention to works of this Indian poet, composer and philosopher in Western Europe in the first third of 20th century. Kozytsky in his musical interpretation of Tagore (in Ukrainian translation by Y. Siry) is not trying to reflect the oriental color, but instead he conveys different the psychological shades of this poetry. The same kind of perception is represented in the work of Leos Janacek – ―The wandering madman‖ for men’s choir with tenor, baritone and soprano solo, which was written in 1922 year (the same with Kozytsky) on verses from ―The Gardener‖ too. There was a row of other acknowledged Western Europe composers who turned to the poetry of Tagore around the same time. Among them – D. Milhaud, K. Shymanovsky, A. Zemlinsky. Other romances of opus 11 are written on verses of Ukrainian poets: P. Phylypovich (the poet of Executed Renaissance) and close comrade of Kozytsky P. Tychina (who had similar artististic intentions with composer and was at the same artistic circle with him).It is stated, that the whole opus can be considered as cycle, which reflects different stages of life of a woman. Cycle also has apparant links to theatrical art which are reflected in the way composer uses marks. But, regardless of brightness of the music of Four romances op. 11, modernistic intentions of young composes were, unfortunately, changed to another way.

This paper, first presented on 21 October 1995 at ajoint seminar ofthe Scottish Law Commission and the Faculty of Law, University of Edinburgh, on the subject of breach of contract, considers the future development of the law in this area, first by considering its history and current state in comparative terms and drawing the conclusion that it is characterised by a mixture of Civilian and Common Law elements; second, by comparing Scots law with the provisions on breach contained in recently published proposals for a harmonised law of contract (the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts, the Principles of European Contract Law prepared by the Lando Commission, and the draft “code”for the United Kingdom prepared on behalf of the English Law Commission by Harvey McGregor in the late 1960s) and in international conventions on the sale of goods. Although Scots law emerges reasonably wellfrom this exercise, there are a number of points to be taken on board in any future reform, as well as some insights into important underlying principles.

A practical and concise total synthesis of tricyclic ketone 7 (CDE ring), a valuable intermediate for the synthesis of racemic camptothecin and analogs, was described (8 chemical steps and 29% overall yield). The synthesis starts with two inexpensive, readily available materials and is operationally simple to perform. It is worth mentioning that the reported protecting group-free synthesis, with advantages of a short route, would be helpful for the future development of industry-scale syntheses of camptothecin-family alkaloids.

Environmental problems such as air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions are especially challenging in urban areas. Electric mobility in different forms may be a solution. While in recent years a major focus was put on private electric vehicles, e-mobility in public transport is already a very well-established and mature technology with a long history. The core objective of this paper is to analyze the economics of e-mobility in the Austrian capital of Vienna and the corresponding impact on the environment. In this paper, the historical developments, policy framework and scenarios for the future development of mobility in Vienna up to 2030 are presented. A major result shows that in an ambitious scenario for the deployment of battery electric vehicles, the total energy demand in road transport can be reduced by about 60% in 2030 compared to 2018. The major conclusion is that the policies, especially subsidies and emission-free zones will have the largest impact on the future development of private and public e-mobility in Vienna. Regarding the environmental performance, the most important is to ensure that a very high share of electricity used for electric mobility is generated from renewable energy sources.
