Nagyelma n. gen. is erected for the northern Vietnamese Ennea aliena Bavay and Dautzenberg, 1912. The most closely related genus is probably Elma H. Adams, 1866, which also has a high-spired shell but differs from the new genus in the absence of a parietal tooth, the pointed-ovoid shell shape, and the penial sheath, which covers only half of the penis.

A new genus of Gyponini, Sakakibarana gen. nov., is proposed and its type species S. amazonica sp. nov. is described and illustrated based on specimens from the Amazon Rainforest of Northern Brazil (states of Amazonas and Pará) and French Guiana. The new genus can be distinguished from other members of the Gyponini by the following morphological features: robust body, short crown, crown and face transition distinct and subfoliaceous, pronotum strongly declivous, male pygofer with caudal process, and aedeagus with dorsal apodemes with a pair of processes. A discussion comparing the new genus with the related genus Tenuacia DeLong, 1977 is provided.

AbstractThe Oriental genus Baptista Distant is redescribed and compared with other genera of Old World Microveliinae. The type-species, B. gesiroi Distant, hitherto only known from the type specimens (from Burma), is redescribed and recorded from Thailand. Three new speeies are described: B. femoralis sp. n. (Thailand, West Malaysia), B. digitata sp. n. (Thailand), and B. angulata sp. n. (southern India). These species all live in very cryptic and secluded habitats, like wet litter, small watery holes in rocks, or small cavities under turf along streams. The males of the new species exhibit a remarkable polymorphism in the structure of fore Iegs and pregenital abdomen. A closely related genus, Lathriovelia gen. n., is described with two species, L. capitata sp. n. and L. collaris sp. n., both from West Malaysia. This genus has a head structure which is quite unique within the subfamily.

A new Oriental stegelytrine leafhopper genus, Wyuchiva, and two new species, Wyuchiva elegantula (type species) from Thailand and Wyuchiva menglaensis from China, are described and illustrated. The taxonomic position of the new genus is discussed and phylogenetic remarks on this and a related genus, Temburocera Webb, 1999, are given.

AbstractA new rhabditid nematode, Sclerorhabditis tridentatus gen. n., sp. n. is described and illustrated. The body is small, less than 0.5 mm, and has an unusual labial and cephalic organisation. The dorsal and ventral lips have strongly sclerotised tridentate structures with the free ends of the forks directed towards the stoma, and the anterior margins of the lateral lips are sclerotised. An unusual feature of this species is the contour of the cephalic border that has axillae-like structures on the lateral sides. The stoma is wide and lacks a glottoid apparatus. The females are amphidelphic with reflexed ovaries and elongate conoid tails. Males were not found. The new genus resembles Diploscapter and the related genus Carinoscapter in having membranous lateral lips, absence of glottoid apparatus and amphidelphic reproductive system, but is clearly distinguishable by the shape and orientation of the sclerotisation of the dorsal and ventral lips and by the presence of a cephalic border.

AbstractThe pollen-beetle Sebastiangethes anthystrixoides, n.gen., n.sp. from northern South Africa is described. The taxonomic position of Sebastiangethes, the related genus Anthystrix Kirejtshuk, 1981, as well as a relatively large assemblage of partially undescribed allied African taxa is discussed in the context of the Oriental genus Cyclogethes Kirejtshuk, 1979. An informal taxonomic assemblage named “Anthystrix-complex of genera” is here introduced. The previously unknown larval host-plants of African members of this “Anthystrix-complex of genera” are identified as dioecious trees belonging to Asteraceae within the tribe Tarchonantheae (genera Tarchonanthus and Brachylaena). Concepts of the generic and subgeneric classification of the subfamily Meligethinae also are discussed.

A new genus, Desserobdella, is described to accommodate the leech Clepsine picta Verrill, 1872 which feeds exclusively on amphibians of northern and central North America. This leech belongs to the subfamily Glossiphoniinae and therefore deposits cocoons directly onto the substrate. The genus Desserobdella n.gen. has the following diagnostic characteristics: (i) two pairs of coalesced eyes; (ii) one pair of diffuse salivary glands; and (iii) a single pair of saccular mycetomes containing prokaryotic endosymbionts. Members of the new genus are distinguished from species of the closely related genus Placobdella Blanchard, 1893 on the basis of their salivary gland structure; Placobdella species have two pairs of compact salivary glands versus the single pair of diffuse salivary glands of the genus Desserobdella n.gen. Congenitors of the new genus are Desserobdella cryptobranchii (Johnson and Klemm, 1977) n.comb., Desserobdella michiganensis (Sawyer, 1972) n.comb., and Desserobdella phalera (Graf, 1899) Jones and Woo, 1990. Desserobdella picta n.gen. et comb. exhibited a stereotypical sequence of feeding behaviours on Rana catesbeiana tadpoles which involved picking at the site of proboscis insertion prior to probing, probing, and finally blood-feeding with the posterior sucker released.

A new species of the family Brachychthoniidae (Acari: Oribatida), Arcochthonius roynortoni n. sp., found on the summit of the Festkogel mountain (3030 m a.s.l.) in the Central Alps (Obergurgl, Tyrol, Austria), is described and illustrated, based on adults. Arcochthonius n. gen. is proposed for this species. The relationships to the closely related genus Synchthonius Hammen, 1952 and other genera of Brachychthoniidae are discussed. The new species is unique among Brachychthoniidae in having arched ridge-like sculpturing on thickened anterior edges of medial and posterior notogastral sclerites, and differs by a combination of morphological character states. Some notes on ecology and biology are given.

This paper presents the results of a study that was largely initiated to describe a genus and species of weevil damaging macadamia fruits in plantations in New South Wales and Queensland, Australia. This taxon is described as Kuschelorhynchus macadamiae gen. et sp. n., the genus named in honour of the late Guillermo (Willy) Kuschel (1918–2017). The related genus Menechirus Hartmann is also revised, resulting in the description of three new species, M. howdenae sp. n., M. parryi sp. n. and M. mundus sp. n. The other genera of the small Australian weevil tribe Cryptoplini, Cryptoplus Erichson, Haplonyx Schoenherr, Sigastus Pascoe and Zeopus Pascoe, are diagnosed and their host associations summarised, and a revised diagnosis of the tribe Cryptoplini is presented, together with a key to its six genera. The extraordinary aedeagus of Cryptoplini, featuring a tectal plate as is characteristic of more primitive weevils, is discussed and illustrated.

Malajczukia, a new genus of truffle-like fungi, is described along with six new species (M. amicorum, M. fusispora, M. karrialis, M. spumoidea, M. tropica and M. viridigleba) and two new combinations (M. ingratissima and M. novae-zelandiae). Malajczukia has the central glebal core separated from the peridial endocutis by radiate rows of narrow locules instead of by the capillitium and powdery spore mass that characterise the closely related genus Mesophellia. Puparia, immatures and adults of a new whitefly genus and species, Himalayaleyrodes sarcococcae Dubey are described from the Western Himalaya, India. The new species was found feeding on leaves as well as on green stems of Sarcococca saligna (D. Don) Muell. Biological information, habitus, line arts, photomicrographs of holotype and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images are given for this new taxon. Also, we discuss similarities and dissimilarities of puparia of the new genus with its closely related genus Bemisia Quaintance & Baker. Feeding behaviour is discussed.
