Brachycephalus fuscolineatus Pie, Bornschein, Firkowski, Belmonte-Lopes & Ribeiro, 2015 was described from Morro do Baú, Santa Catarina, Brazil. This species occurs at elevations of 640–790 m, and it is known to have an extent of occurrence of 23.63 ha. Here, we report a new record of B. fuscolineatus from Morro Braço da Onça, Luiz Alves, Santa Catarina. We recorded it on 21–22 December 2018 at elevations between 525 and 530 m; the new record occupied an area of 0.19 ha. We estimate 9 calling males in 36.35 m2.

The combination Raspailia (Raspaxilla) elegans sensu Boury-Esnault, 1973 is precoccupied by Raspailia elegans Lendenfeld,1887 (Porifera, Poecilosclerida, Raspailiidae). A new name for this Brazilian shallow-water species is proposed, Raspailia (Raspaxilla) bouryesnaultae n.n., and the species is redescribed based on a skeleton slide from the holotype and additional material freshly collected from the coast of Santa Catarina state. The distribution is now expanded to encompass the area from 22º to 27°S, in southeastern Brazil.

Com o objetivo de contribuir para o conhecimento da fauna de Arctiinae (Lepidoptera: Erebidae) ocorrentes no Estado de Santa Catarina, elaborou-se uma lista das espécies depositadas no Museu Entomológico Ceslau Biezanko. Os dados são referentes a coletas realizadas na região entre os anos 1943 e 1976 por Ceslau Maria Biezanko, Vitor Becker e Fritz Plauman. Foram encontradas 101 espécies, distribuídas em 57 gêneros e 238 indivíduos de Arctiini. Um total de 15 espécies é novo registro para o estado. Contribution to the Knowledge of the Arctiinae (Lepidoptera: Erebidae) Fauna in the Santa Catarina State, Brazil Abstract. Aiming to contribute to the knowledge of the Arctiinae (Lepidoptera: Family: Erebidae) fauna occurring in the Santa Catarina State, drew up a list of species deposited in the Entomological Museum Ceslau Biezanko. The data relating to collections made in the region between 1943 and 1976 by Maria Ceslau Biezanko, Vitor Becker and Fritz Plauman. We found 101 species in 57 genera and 238 individuals of Arctiini. A total of 15 species are new record for the state.

We recorded three individuals of Abrawayaomys ruschii Cunha & Cruz, 1979 in Chapecó, Santa Catarina state, expanding the known geographic distribution of the species in approximately 370 km west from its nearest locality. It is the second record of the species in this type of physiognomy, characterized by the transition of Seasonal Deciduous and Mixed Ombrophilous forests. Additionally, this is the closest record, about 200 km east, from the recently described Abrawayaomys chebezi Pardiñas, Teta & D’Elía, 2009.

Juliomys ossitenuis Costa, Pavan, Leite and Fagundes, 2007 was previously known in Brazil from the Atlantic Forest of the Southeastern Region to the Dense Ombrophilous Forest and Araucaria Forest of the Southern Region. The new record from Chapecó, in Santa Catarina state, confirmed by morphological and cytogenetic analyses, extends its distribution about 300 km westwards. This is the westernmost record for the species, in a region characterized by the transition between deciduous and Araucaria forests.

We present a new record of Crossodactylus schmidti Gallardo, 1961 and the first record of this species in a conservation unit in Santa Catarina state. We also provide information on the habitat use and the conservation status of the species in the state.

We report the rediscovery of Anthurium hatschbachii in Paraná State and the first published record of this species in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. We add to its original description the following: the shape and colour of its cataphylls, peduncle, midrib, petiole, spathe and spadix, taxonomic and ecological notes, photographs of live plants, a distribution map and conservation assessments. Moreover, we report that two paratypes were found at RB and the MOBOT herbarium.

Parafimbrios has been reported in Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. In this paper, based on morphological and molecular data, Parafimbrios lao was reported as the first record of a genus and species of odd-scaled snake in China. This record extends the extent of occurrence to 65,000 km2 and the area of occurrence to 20 km2.

ABSTRACT. The eastern region of Santa Catarina State (Brazil) has an important history of natural disasters due to extreme rainfall events. Floods and landslides are enhancedby local features such as orography and urbanization: the replacement of natural surface coverage causing more surface runoff and, hence, flooding. Thus, studies of this type of events – which directly influence life in the towns – take on increasing importance. This work makes a quantitative analysis of occurrences of extreme rainfall events in the eastern and northern regions of Santa Catarina State in the last 60 years, through individual analysis, considering the history of floods ineach selected town, as well as an estimate through to the end of century following regional climate modeling. A positive linear trend, in most of the towns studied, was observed in the results, indicating greater frequency of these events in recent decades, and the HadRM3P climate model shows a heterogeneous increase of events for all towns in the period from 2071 to 2100.Keywords: floods, climate modeling, linear trend. RESUMO. A região leste do Estado de Santa Catarina tem um importante histórico de desastres naturais ocasionados por eventos extremos de precipitação. Inundações e deslizamentos de terra são potencializados pelo relevo acidentado e pela urbanização das cidades da região: a vegetação nativa vem sendo removida acarretando um maior escoamento superficial e, consequentemente, em inundações. Desta forma, torna-se de suma importância os estudos acerca deste tipo de evento que influencia diretamente a sociedade em geral. Neste trabalho é realizada uma análise quantitativa do número de eventos severos de precipitação ocorridos nas regiões leste e norte de Santa Catarina dos últimos 60 anos, por meio de uma análise pontual, considerandoo histórico de inundações de cada cidade selecionada, além de uma projeção para o fim do século de acordo com modelagem climática regional. Na análise dos resultados observou-se uma tendência linear positiva na maioria das cidades, indicando uma maior frequência deste tipo de evento nas últimas décadas, e o modelo climático HadRM3P mostra um aumento heterogêneo no número de eventos para todas as cidades no período de 2071 a 2100.Palavras-chave: inundações, modelagem climática, tendência linear.
