The genus Cladotoma Westwood, 1837 (Ptilodactylidae) has seven species distributed in Argentina, Costa Rica, French Guiana, and Panama. Cladotoma ovalis Westwood, 1837 is record for the first time in Mexico, in the states of Jalisco and Chiapas. Illustrations, distribution map and a diagnosis for the genus and for C. ovalis are herein presented. A checklist of Ptilodactylidae species in Mexico and an identification key for Mexican genera is also presented.

Two new species of Taraxippus Moxey, 1971 are described and illustrated: T. samaraesp. nov. from Costa Rica and Panama and T. perezgelabertisp. nov. from the Dominican Republic. Both sexes and the previously unknown eggs are described. The genus is recorded from Central America for the first time. A distribution map and a discussion of the distributional pattern of Taraxippus are provided.

The detailed study of several Cohniella specimens observed and/or collected in French Guiana shows that they all belong to a single entity and that it is different from the two species previously cited for this country, Cohniella cebolleta and C. ultrajectina, by a set of significant vegetative and floral characters. This entity is here described as a new species, illustrated and compared with the two taxa mentioned. A distribution map of the hitherto known specimens and/or populations is proposed, as well as an identification key.

Knautia arvensis (L.) Coult. (Caprifoliaceae), collected from Küre Mountains National Park (Kastamonu Section), is reported for the first time for the flora of Turkey. A brief description of the plant along with photographs and distribution map is given. Additionally, its taxonomic relationship with other closely allied taxa are examined and discussed. An identification key to the species of genus Knautia in Turkey is provided.

Tapiena Bolívar, 1906 (type species Tapeina acutangula Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1878) (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae) is reviewed from China. A list and an identification key to ten species of Tapiena from China are given. Three new species are described: T. parapentagona sp. n., T. bilobata sp. n., and T. stridulous sp. n.. The previously unknown female of T. spinicaudata Liu & Xia, 1996 are described for the first time. Based on the examination of male stridulatory area, some known species are redescribed. Important and necessary illustrations, a distribution map, and discussion on distribution of Tapiena are provided.

Strumigenys fairchildi Brown, 1961 is recorded for the first time in Brazil. This ant species was previously known only from a few specimens collected in Costa Rica, Panama and Ecuador. The worker S. fairchildi was collected at the Parque Estadual do Cristalino, a continuous area of Amazon tropical rain forest protected for biodiversity conservation in the municipality of Novo Mundo, Mato Grosso state. In addition, we present a distribution map and high-resolution images of the worker.

The species of Centris of the hyptidis group are revised. The group, composed by C. hyptidis Ducke, C. hyptidoides Roig-Alsina, and C. thelyopsis n. sp., exhibits unique morphological characters within the genus, like foreand midtrochanters with a laminar expansion at the base, and elaiospathes strongly modified. An updated catalog, and floral and distributional records are provided for each species, as well as an identification key and a distribution map. The male of C. hyptidoides is described for the first time and a modern diagnosis for C. hyptidis is presented. A new species, C. thelyopsis n. sp., is described from Goiás State, in central Brazil. It can be easily distinguished from the two previously known species by its predominant orange pilosity, including that of the hind legs and metasoma.
