In this paper we present a tool chain that aids in the construction of executable UML models according to the new Foundational UML (fUML) standard. These executable models can be constructed and tested in the modeling phase, and code can be generated from them towards different platforms. The fUML standard is currently built and promoted by OMG for building executable UML models. The compatibility of the executable models with the fUML standard means that only the UML elements allowed by fUML should be used for the abstract syntax and the extra constraints imposed by the fUML standard should be considered. The tool chain we propose is intregrated with the existing UML tools of Eclipse modeling infrastructure.

Due to its rich set of modeling concepts and its broad application spectrum the Unified Modeling Language (UML) has become widely accepted for modeling many aspects of software systems. Since UML is not related to any particular design method, each software development project has to establish its own modeling guidelines. Hence, tool support is needed for guiding the developer throughout the modeling process and for enforcing project-related integrity of UML models. In this chapter, we present our approach for enforcing guidelines in UML-based software development processes. For managing UML models, we implemented a UML repository on top of an object-relational database management system (ORDBMS). Guidelines are expressed as OCL constraints and are enforced either automatically, i. e., by the UML repository, or on user demand. For this purpose, we take advantage of ORDBMS query facilities for checking guidelines by automated mapping of OCL constraints to SQL expressions.

UML is accepted as the standard notation for object-oriented (OO) development. UML models have a widespread use in today’s software practices. Any initiative to improve software quality assurance (SQA) should assume that a high percentage of deliverables to be controlled are currently based on the use of UML notation. However, real life projects are strongly influenced by the need of reaching tangible productivity and efficiency goals. SQA techniques should be customized to meet the balance between quality and budget supported by risk analysis. In this chapter, different strategies and techniques devised to follow the above philosophy of efficiency are presented, especially centred in automatic testing generation from specifications. Our proposal is mainly based on a recommended course of action as well as on integrated tool support for Eclipse environments.

The approach to creating standard means for reproducing units of volumetric activity of radon and thoron and flux density of radon from the soil surface is described based on the physical principles of reproducing these units of quantities and using as technical means for reproducing bubblers with a radioactive solution of radium salt, reference capacities of known volume, emanation chambers for generation of a toron, a gamma spectrometer with a semiconductor detector from highly pure germanium and radon radiometers. Reproduction consists in the physical realization of units in accordance with their definition as applied to the formation of radon and thoron in the radioactive rows of radium and thorium. The proposed approach will allow to determine the structural, structural and other technical solutions of standard measuring instruments, as well as specific techniques and methods of working with them. The creation of standard tools and technologies for reproducing units of volumetric activity of radon and thoron and the density of radon flux from the soil surface will ensure the unity and reliability of measurements in the field of ionizing radiation, traceability of units and bringing the characteristics of national standards in line with world achievements.

The business unit's black tea processing of Perkebunan Nusantara suffered a loss of approximately Rp.60 billion. This is caused by the failure to achieve the quality and quantity of production which has been targeted by the management. Black tea processing factory "Pahit Madu" is required to improve the performance of the production process. To improve the production of black tea starts from improved production equipment through improved equipment utilization. One method ofmeasuring the effectiveness of using an apparatus is Overall EquipmentEffectiveness (OEE). OEE calculation results show that black tea factory "Pahit Madu" for four (4) years under the standard. Means, the effectiveness of utilization of equipment in the factory black tea "Pahit Madu" was still very low. This was shown by the low performance equipment in the milling unit, drying unit and sortation unit. Toimprove the performance of the plant should begin by increasing the Cutting Tearing Curling (CTC) machine in milling stations, machines Fluid Bed Dryer (FBD) and Heat Exchanger (HE) at the drying stations, and Winnower machines at the sortation stations.
