Forest management activity wich applied selective cutting with line planting (TPTJ) caused disturbed on forest, especially due to the process of making the planting lines. Natural forest gives respond to disturbance by recovery of its vegetation. This research aimed to measure the potential seedlings by vegetation recovery process in logged over area and determine both of the diversity and evenness of communities. The result showed that the composition of the seedlings at the begining of a recovery in the cropping were not only pioneer, but also kinds of Dipterocarpaceae and non-Dipterocarpaceae. The entire lines is dominated by the pioneers types, such as: Macaranga gigantea, Ganua glaberrima, Aporosa apriniana and Polyalthia rumphii. The family with the most number of types found namely: Phyllanthaceae, Myrtaceae and Dipterocarpaceae. The value of diversity index all of community belongs to moderate ( 2 < H’ < 3) and value equity (e’) belongs to high. The entire community of between the lines have low IS value wich its IS < 50% that means tampering with the seedling in each line has a significant different due to the forest examined was divided into several blocks of high fells.Keywords : climax, diversity, equity, pioneer, selective cutting with line planting

Forest management can have an impact on changes in forest structure and composition of plant species. Functional species Group (FSG) may explain the unity of the trees species that are selected in a group in a forest management activities so that it can help in explaining the characteristic of biodiversity such as the quality of habitat and ecosystem processes. The purpose of this research is to know the composition of forest vegetation that the production system are managed with a Silviculture system of TPTJ as seen from the forest structure and composition of the type that belongs to FSG for the stands and natural regeneration in log over area (LOA) and KPPN (The Conservation of Germplasm Area) IUPHHK-HA PT. Sarmiento Parakantja Timber (Sarpatim), Central Kalimantan. Analysis of the composition of the stands type and structure used terraced path in the area of TPTJ and KPPN. The results showed that the types of climax on an entire swath of observations, generally have greater proportion than the group of pioneers, the number of the climax type is 100 while pioneer type is 59. The structure of the stands form a J reverse curve, it show that the composition of vegetation recovery on log over areas managed by using TPTJ and KPPN Silviculture system has balance characteristic of uneven age forest. The value of diversity is high (H'>3). Most of tree and stands community have different communities (ID>50%).Key words: LOA, FSG, TPTJ, stand structure, composition of species

The regional tectonic conditions of the KSK Contract of Work are located in the mid-Tertiary magmatic arc (Carlile and Mitchell, 1994) which host a number of epithermal gold deposits (eg, Kelian, Indon, Muro) and significant prospects such as Muyup, Masupa Ria, Gunung Mas and Mirah. Copper-gold mineralization in the KSK Contract of Work is associated with a number of intrusions that have occupied the shallow-scale crust at the Mesozoic metamorphic intercellular junction to the south and continuously into the Lower Tertiary sediment toward the water. This intrusion is interpreted to be part of the Oligocene arc of Central Kalimantan (in Carlile and Mitchell 1994) Volcanic rocks and associated volcanoes are older than intrusions, possibly aged Cretaceous and exposed together with all three contacts (Carlile and Mitchell, 1994) some researchers contribute details about the geological and mineralogical background, and some papers for that are published for the Beruang Kanan region and beyond but no one can confirm the genesis type of the Beruang Kanan region The mineralization of the Beruang Kanan area is generally composed by high yields of epithermal sulphide mineralization. with Cu-Au mineralization This high epithermal sulphide deposition coats the upper part of the Cu-Au porphyry precipitate associated with mineralization processes that are generally controlled by the structure

This research used the lesser known species as much 5 types rattan, consisted of i.e marau (Calamus Mettanensis Becc), toho (Calamus Spp), galang (Daemonorops Verticilaris Griff Mart), hijau (Calamus Spp) and simpurut (Calamus Panajuga Becc) from Central Kalimantan. Preservative used the mixture of boric acid with the borax and copper-8 by  the concentration of 1,0 %, 2,0 % and 3,0 %. Soaked time during 2 day, 4 day and 6 day by immersion chilled. Result of research indicated that the retention value varied, the greater of concentration condensation and soaking period, the greater average the value of retention while penetration result at all of treatment showed the value 100 %.Keywords:  rattan, preservation, retention, penetration, cold soaking.

Abstract - Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) is one method of atomic emission spectroscopy using laser ablation as an energy source. This method is used to characterize the type of amethysts that originally come from Sukamara, Central Kalimantan. The result of amethyst characterization can be used as a reference for claiming the natural wealth of the amethyst. The amethyst samples are directly taken from the amethyst mining field in the District Gem Amethyst and consist of four color variations: white, black, yellow, and purple. These samples were analyzed by LIBS, using laser energy of 120 mJ, delay time detection of 2 μs and accumulation of 3, with and without cleaning. The purpose of this study is to determine emission spectra characteristics, contained elements, and physical characteristics of each amethyst sample. The spectra show that the amethyst samples contain some elements such as Al, Ca, K, Fe, Gd, Ba, Si, Be, H, O, N, Cl and Pu with various emission intensities. The value of emission intensity corresponds to concentration of element in the sample. Hence, the characteristics of the amethysts are based on their concentration value. The element with the highest concentration in all samples is Si, which is related to the chemical formula of SiO2. The element with the lowest concentration in all samples is Ca that is found in black and yellow amethysts. The emission intensity of Fe element can distinguish between white, purple, and yellow amethyst. If Fe emission intensity is very low, it indicates yellow sample. Thus, we may conclude that LIBS is a method that can be used to characterize the amethyst samples.Key words: amethyst, impurity, laser-induced, breakdown spectroscopy, characteristic, gemstones
