The genus Cernosvitovia consists of nine species in the whole world. Out of the nine species, eight species are with primary distribution in the eastern part of the Balkan Peninsula (except Cernosvitovia schweigeri). In the Lumbricidae fauna of Serbia, seven species from this genus have been registered. Among them, 6 taxa are endemic. The aim of this paper is to present new data of the endemic species Cernosvitovia dudichi Zicsi & Šapkarev, 1982, based on the current taxonomic status of species, literature data, and our unpublished data. In this paper, we have summarized the knowledge on the geographic distribution, biology, and habitat C. dudichi in Serbia. Our recent investigations have revealed new records for C. dudichi in Central Serbia. After 30 years, this species was found in another place in this area, in Goč Mt. New locality suggests that C. dudichi possess a wider range than it was previously thought.

The millipede fauna of Serbia consists of 100 species, 44 genera, 16 families and 7 orders. The most abundant are families Julidae (41 species or 41%) and Polydesmidae (22 species or 22%). Of the total number, 27 species (27%) are endemic to Serbia, while 18 (18%) are endemic to the Balkan Peninsula. All registered species can be related to 15 zoogeographical categories. Glomeris klugii Brandt, 1833 (Glomerida: Glomeridae), Cibiniulus phlepsii (Verhoeff, 1897) (Julida: Blaniulidae), Brachyiulus bagnalli (Brolemann, 1924), Megaphyllum carniolense (Verhoeff, 1897), Typhloiulus incurvatus Verhoeff, 1899, Xestoiulus luteus (Attems, 1951) (all Julida: Julidae), and Polydesmus renschi Schubart, 1934 (Polydesmida: Polydesmidae) represent new records for the diplopod fauna of Serbia.

The last checklist of the water mites of the Balkan countries published in 2010 by Pešić et al. is updated to November 2017. This supplement includes new records of water mite species from the Balkan countries (Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Greece) published after 2010, as well as unpublished records based on material collected from Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, and Greece. Numerous new records for the national faunas, including one species new for the Mediterranean region (Arrenurus stjordalensis Thor, 1899), are reported and one species new to science (Trichothyas jadrankae Pešić sp. nov.) is described. With these additions, a total number of 390 water mite species and subspecies from 34 families and 77 genera is now recorded from the Balkan peninsula (including the Greek Islands).

The Balkan Lepidoptera fauna is still not comprehensively known. We present here some new records for three Balkan countries. Polymixis xanthomista (Hübner, [1819]) is confirmed for the Balkan Peninsula from Albania, Eriogaster inspersa Staudinger, 1879 is reported new for the Republic of North Macedonia (second locality in Europe), and Mythimna languida (Walker, 1858) is new for Bulgaria. Some other species (Ctenoplusia accentifera (Lefèbvre, 1827), Anchoscelis luteogrisea (Warren, 1911), Griposia bouveti pinkeri (Kobes, 1973) and Egira anatolica (Hering, 1933)) are confirmed for these countries. We provide illustrations of the species and their genitalia when necessary for confirmation.

This paper updates the Tachinidae fauna of Croatia. We report 50 species for the first time for Croatia and six of these are new records for the Balkan Peninsula: Chetogena micronychia, Istocheta subcinerea,Meigenia simplex, Leucostoma edentatum, Peribaea discicornisand P. longirostris.

Abstract The paper presents new information about the occurrence of Chalybion omissum (KOHL, 1889) in central part of Balkan Peninsula (southern Bulgaria). Seven specimens were caught at 4 sites: N of Kurdzhali (UTM: LG61), Usstrem village (MG55), NE of Kalimantsi village (GL09), NE of Madzharovo (MG01).

Four water mite species of the genera Atractides and Sperchon (Acari: Hydrachnidia) are reported from Serbia and Crna Gora, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Bulgaria. Sperchon vesnae is described as a new species; first description are given of the female of Atractides longisetus Pesic, 2002; first records from the Balkan peninsula are given of Sperchon longissimus Viets, 1920, and Atractides cf. lunipes Lundblad, 1956. The latter is a rare water mite species previously known only from the French Pyrenees.

Based on published records and original data from recent research, a list is presented of the water mite (Acari: Hydrachnidia) fauna of the Balkan countries, i.e. Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Greece. It includes 382 species and subspecies in 77 genera and 34 families. Numerous new records for national faunas are reported, and five taxa, Sperchon pelopeius (Greece), Atractides stankovici (Croatia), Axonopsis graeca (Greece), Woolastookia minuta (Bosnia and Hercegovina, Greece) and Arrenurus ornatus graecus (Greece) are described as new to science. Atractides moniezi (Motaş, 1927) is synonymized with A. lacustris (Lundblad, 1925). The assumption of K. O. Viets (1987) that Pionopsis subruber Đ orđević, 1903 is a synonym of P. lutescens (Hermann, 1804) is confirmed. The characteristics of the water mite fauna in the treated area are briefly outlined. Additional field work is highly desirable for a more appropriate evaluation of the extant water mite biodiversity in the Balkans.

Cladotanytarsus saetheri, sp. nov., a widely distributed species (Fennoscandia; Russia: Far East; Canada: Manitoba; USA: Colorado, Michigan, South Carolina, Wisconsin) is described and compared with C. gedanicus Giłka, 2001 on the basis of new records (Fennoscandia; Canada: Manitoba, Nunavut; USA: Colorado, New Mexico). Intraspecific morphological variability of adult males is presented in order to delimit the two previously misidentified species.
