It is possible to find some reports on isolated thickening of the internal anal sphincter and the causes of its development in the literature. However, no clear diagnostic program and surgical correction description has been detected for this condition. This clinical observation demonstrates a rare case of the hyperplasia of the internal sphincter syndrome with the obliteration of the anal canal, and also successful rehabilitation of the patient during the multi-stage surgical treatment.

BACKGROUND: Parathyroid adenoma is a rare disease. This article aimed to present the classic symptoms, diagnosis, and management of parathyroid adenoma. CASE REPORT: We report the case of a 24-year-old Asian woman with a several-month-long history of prolonged fatigue, bone, and joint pain. The patient was admitted to our hospital with multiple fractures without significant trauma. Physical examination revealed no palpable masses in the neck. The bone survey showed multiple fractures and osteoporosis of the humerus, clavicle, femur, and lumbar vertebrae. The laboratory workup showed a significantly elevated parathyroid hormone (PTH) level of 1,276 pg/ml (reference range: 10-55 pg/ml) and hypercalcemia, at 11.3 mg/dl (reference range: 8.5-10.5 mg/dl). MRI revealed enlargement of the left inferior parathyroid gland. The patient was diagnosed with a parathyroid gland tumour. Surgical resection was performed, and histopathology revealed parathyroid adenoma. The clinical manifestations and PTH and calcium levels gradually decreased to normal after the surgery. At the two-year follow-up, there was no recurrence of the disease. The patient has resumed her daily life as a farmer. CONCLUSIONS: Parathyroid adenoma has an excellent prognosis with surgical treatment.

Primary rectal melanoma is a rare malignant tumor with an aggressive course and poor prognosis. The article describes a clinical observation demonstrating the successful comprehensive treatment of primary rectal melanoma. A patient with a complicated course of rectal melanoma, stage IV of the first stage was performed by surgical treatment with removal of the external intestine according to the Hartmann type with removal of the uterine appendages from both sides of the en-block, and resection of the left pelvic plexus. In the postoperative period, the patient underwent chemoembolization of the liver with combined immunotherapy. The patient is alive two years after the operation; there is no evidence for local recurrence and progression of the disease.

Cavernous hemangiomas are benign tumours of mesodermal origin. Even though various localizations of hemangioma have been described in the literature, its occurrence in the greater omentum is very rare. Only symptomatic hemangiomas are indicated for surgical treatment. There are case reports presenting resection or surgical removal of the greater omentum with hemangioma because of mechanical syndrome, consumption coagulopathy, bleeding, infection or suspicion of a malignancy. This article presents a case report of a patient operated on for a suspicion of carcinomatosis of the greater omentum. Histological examination found hemangiomatosis in the resected greater omentum.
