Ahterosclerosis of vessels of the lower extremities is widely distributed in the population. Open surgical revascularization is an efficient method for treatment of this pathology. One of the rare postoperative complications is an anastomosis aneurysm development. We report about a clinical case of a 74-year-old male with a giant (25 cm in diameter) aneurysm of the proximal anastomosis after femoropopliteal bypass. Open aneurysmectomy was performed, and the postoperative period was uneventful.

The article presents a clinical case of step-up surgical treatment of spinal canal stenosis at the craniovertebral and thoracolumbar level in a patient with mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) type VI. The treatment method gives an opportunity to achieve a satisfactory result at the background of severe metabolic disease.

Capillary hemangiomas are benign, vascular lesions of skin and mucous membranes that often occur in infancy and childhood. Capillary hemangiomas are most commonly found in the head and neck region. Capillary hemangiomas that occur in adults and on the lower extremities are uncommon. A clinical case involving surgical treatment of the lesion on an adult foot is presented. Lacertus fibrosus entrapment of the median nerve at the elbow, or Lacertus syndrome, is a rare pathology, which is difficult to detect by instrumental examination methods. Literary sources provide no information on the syndrome prevalence, as well as on precise diagnosis and treatment algorithms, which makes it difficult to establish the diagnosis and appoint the effective treatment. Lacertus syndrome is characterized by positive scratch collapse test; differential diagnosis is required to distinguish it from carpal tunnel syndrome. Clinical case of bilateral lacertus fibrosus entrapment of the median nerve at the elbow is reported, Lacertus syndrome diagnosis criteria and surgical treatment method are set out. The results of the surgical tactics used are as follows: pain, paresthesia and numbness in the innervation field of the median nerve have vanished, the muscle strength has been restored to level М5 in accordance with MRC muscle strength scale. These results demonstrate high efficiency of the proposed lacertus syndrome surgical treatment.

Background: Sticker sarcoma, also called venereal sarcoma or venereal lymphosarcomatosis, is a tumor of the external genital organs in females and males. In male animals the penis and foreskin (prepuce) are affected, in the female, it happens in vagina (vagina) and labia (vulva). The diagnosis of sticker sarcoma is based on the chronic discharge, the typical locations and the characteristic appearance of the tumor. Methods: We have relied on the treatment method on the complete surgical removal of all cancer cells that we can access. Results: After surgery, we notice recurrent tumors about six months after surgical treatment, indicating the need for other treatments in addition to surgery. Conclusion: Although spontaneous regressions of sticker sarcoma are documented (with permanent immunity), chemotherapy is the treatment of choice today. Irradiation should also be effective. If the tumor is only removed surgically, there is a high rate of recurrence, and this is what happened with the case that we treated, as the tumor reappeared after less than six months.

Drawing upon concepts of expressive equipment and body image, the aim of this study is to explore how men diagnosed and treated for penile cancer construct their penis and its surgical disfigurement (penectomy). Using maximum variation sampling with the intention to acquire the broadest range of experiences of stage of disease and treatment, 27 cisgender men (aged 48-83, x=63) who had surgical treatment consented for their data to be archived for analysis. From a dramaturgical perspective, the constructionist thematic analysis explored direct and indirect talk about the penis after surgery. The analysis showed that through graphic and sequential narratives of dismemberment revealed, participants constructed a post-surgery period in which they both wanted and did-not-want to see their penis. Additionally, participants constructed themselves managing difficult emotions through others and seeing themselves being rejected by a potentially desiring (female) Other. The findings extend research on male genitals by showing how the post-surgery penis can function as something hidden but visceral and traumatic when revealed. Importantly, this paper illustrates body image as expressive equipment where body and identity are formed in the image of manhood, which is an intersubjective (sexual) object between self and other.
