(English below) Cette étude présente une biographie de Mme Thérèse Belleau, première professeure d’archéologie à l’Université de Montréal engagée en 1958, débutant par un survol de qu’on sait sur la vie et la formation académique de Mme Belleau. S’en suit une discussion de sa formation en Europe (thèse à l’École d’Anthropologie de Paris, études post-graduées à l’Université de Londres) et de son embauche à l’Université de Montréal. Divers fonds d’archive permettent de retracer son travail au Musée national du Canada (Ottawa), incluant des conférences, publications et fouilles archéologiques au site Hughson, en Ontario. L’engouement suscité par son engagement à l’Université de Montréal est souligné et le texte conclut par un aperçu de ses activités scientifiques aux États-Unis et en Australie après 1959.•This study presents a biography of Mrs. Thérèse Belleau, the first archaeology professor to be hired at the University of Montreal in 1958, beginning with an overview of what can be gleaned from scientific sources about her life and academic trajectory. This is followed by a discussion of her training in Europe (thesis at the École d’Anthropologie de Paris, post-graduate studies at the University of London) and her hiring at the University of Montreal. Various archival sources detail her work at the National Museum of Canada (Ottawa), including conferences and archaeological excavations at the Hughson site, in Ontario. We highlight the excitement that her hiring at the University of Montreal created, and the paper concludes with a summary of her scientific activities in the USA and Australia after 1959.

Ensuring livelihood security of the tribal farmers of Meghalaya has been the main focus of the policymakers. To accelerate the process, it is necessary to identify the most serious issue encountered by the farmers of the region. This paper presents a list of agricultural issues associated with the livelihood security of the farmers. Using survey data from beneficiary farmers of Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) project of College of Post Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences (CPGSAS), Umiam, Meghalaya and College of Home Science (CoHSc), Tura, Meghalaya, Central Agricultural University, Imphal [CAU(I)], the method of paired comparison is applied to prioritize the list of issues. The data was collected in the year 2018 from 390 beneficiary farmers from Ri-Bhoi district and West Garo Hill of Meghalaya state. The result indicates that crop diseases and pest infestation were the most critical issue. Both present and future policymaker need to intervene according to the need base situation of the farmer to ensure their livelihood security.

The present study aims to investigate the obstacles to implementing the strategic action plan in the light ofperformance evaluation at the College of Education, Jeddah University. The author adopted the descriptive analyticalapproach. The population comprised all forms and documents relevant to the domains, namely learning andeducation, post-graduate studies, social responsibility, and funding. The results showed that the achievement rate ofthe domains was 40%, 18%, 0.04%, and 73%, respectively. The obstacles to learning and education related toawareness of the course and its design, difficulty of students’ interaction, and form filling objectively. The obstaclesto post-graduate studies domain were relevant to publishing in reviewed and standardized journals due to JeddahUniversity, lack of action handbook for mission and, post-graduate studies based on mission regulation of the SaudiUniversities. The obstacles to social responsibility were relevant to funding in terms of allocating a budget foractivating the social responsibility projects and upgrading the college’s infrastructure. The obstacles to funding andinvestment were based on the needs of civil society associations to launch new programs that meet their needs andprovide the College of Education with investment return.

Considering the organizational practices and financing of strict post-graduate studies existing in Germany this article intends to prepare an alignment proposal in the areas of research that the Postgraduate Program in Industrial Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Maria/RS (PPGEP-UFSM) can adopt to stimulate regional industries to fund research on the course. Therefore, they analyzed 29 companies that are part of the Regional Development Council region and has Santa Maria/RS as county seat. Data were collected by the Registry of the Industrial Federation of Industries of Rio Grande do Sul State, Economy and Statistics Foundation and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics. To adopt a graduate of the financing model similar to that practiced in Germany, it is recommended that the PPGEP-UFSM seek greater affinity between their lines of research and production activities of regional industries. It is suggested that the program develops research in machinery compatible with that produced in the region for the production of food production technologies and also to improve the handling and processing of grain and meat, thus enabling local industries an improvement in conditions competitiveness.
