The present research examines the perceptions of rural consumers towards the microgrid and rural electrification (RE) based solutions and develops a framework for improving the establishment of rural RE based microgrid solution captured from a case study in the Kalimpong district of North Bengal. The study adopted a mixed methodology study design includes the qualitative and quantitative aspects of the study through stakeholder interviews and questionnaire-based primary survey of the sample households. The perceptions received from sample households were validated with the response from other stakeholders, including academicians, researchers and sectoral experts. Data were analysed using structural equation modelling (SEM). The findings of the present research indicate that to accelerate the socio-economic development of the hilly terrains of North Bengal region, multi-provider licensed based microgrid preferably with renewable-based is a preferred mode which ensures reliable and affordable access of electricity.

In Italy there has been a significant decrease of farms which undertake an important role in rural environmental protection and in the socio-economic development in rural areas. PURPOSE: The aim of this paper was to assess by a quantitative methodology the index of rurality in Italian farms part of the FADN dataset since 2004 to 2016. METHODS: The methodology has used the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling aimed at estimating the notable cause-effect relationships among all economic variables. RESULTS: Findings have pointed out as the variable financial subsidies allocated by the CAP and the farm specialization have influenced the index of rurality. CONCLUSIONS: For the future development of rural areas it is important to support financially rural areas; in particular subsidies should be addressed to less favored areas in order to reduce their socio-economic marginalization.

This study was conducted to assess students' perceptions of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the impacts of those perceptions on their thinking and behavior. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to examine the proposed correlations by analysing the data collected from 787 students at Nong Lam University. Results showed that there were positive correlations from relatives, social activity participation, demographics, and self-perception of students’ perception of CSR. Besides, we also found that perception would positively affect students’ thinking and behavior.

ABSTRACT

Various policies of fisheries development have been implemented by Indonesian government. However, they have not reached the expected results. Until now the policy/program of empowerment has not been able to significantly increase fishermen income and welfare. Fishermen are still poor and underdeveloped compared to other community groups. Therefore, some corrective measures are needed to improve programs/policies that have been implemented over the years. To get the answer, a study that examines factors affect the success of a fisheries policy is conducted in Indramayu, West Java. By using analysis of Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), the research defines that fisheries institutions factor significantly led to the success of fisheries development.

Keywords: fisherman, Indramayu, capture fisheries, SEM

-------
