<p style="text-align: justify;">This study discusses students’ responses and perceptions on the e-book of Local History of West Java (Indonesia) developed by the researchers. It uses a Research and Development approach and experimental method. Data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interviews, and focus group discussions with interactive model data analysis. The research subjects were students and teachers of high schools in West Java. They were taken as the subjects as they can represent the region. The History E-book is, however, published on ebooksejarah.id page while the system was developed by using SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) Waterfall model. The results of the study indicate that the components of the e-book on the aspects of the materials, presentation, and completeness are overall suitable to be used by students. The materials are considered to be still inapplicable and not contextual. Further, they are still lack of latest issues as well as photos/illustrations. The study of student responses on the e-book reinforces that the zoomers (those belong to Generation Z) prefer to digital learning media because their social life belongs to the online world. Local history e-books should better adapt to the learning style of Generation Z, who prefer visuals and hands-on experiences to reading texts. Thus, e-book development needs to be equipped with various learning media in short audios and video explainers, animations, and infographics.</p>

An extreme landscape is a spatially heterogeneous area with unusual topography that is prone to natural disasters but still exhibits interrelated structures and functions. One of the important functions of an extreme landscape is its ecological function. This study aimed to determine the structure and reveal the ecological functions of an extreme landscape in a tropical region of West Java, with special reference to Rongga Sub-district. The method used was a combination of remote sensing techniques and geographic information systems, which were required to process, analyze, and interpret Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS data. The landscape structure was quantified by landscape metrics, after which an analysis of ecological functions was carried out based on the constituent elements of the landscape. The results showed that the landscape structure of Rongga Sub-district consists of various elements of agroforestry land, open fields, settlements, shrubs, plantations, and rainfed and irrigated rice fields. Additionally, secondary forest land acted as a landscape matrix where rivers crossed as natural corridors. The amount of each element varied; agroforestry land had the highest value, indicating that this element showed a high degree of human intervention. Each patch was adjacent to other patch types, and the landscape diversity was quite high. The extreme topography of Rongga Sub-district supports the landscape connectivity and consequently the presence of wild animals in this area. Therefore, Rongga Sub-district has an essential ecological function as a refuge for protected animals living in non-conservation areas.

Uncontrolled urban expansion resulting from urbanization has a disastrous impact on agricultural land. This situation is being experienced by the densely populated and fertile island Java in Indonesia. Remote sensing technologies have developed rapidly in recent years, including the creation of Google Earth Engine (GEE). Intensity analysis (IA) is increasingly being used to systematically and substantially analyze land-use/land-cover (LULC) change. As yet, however, no study of land conversion from agriculture to urban areas in Indonesia has adopted GEE and IA approaches simultaneously. Therefore, this study aims to monitor urban penetration to agricultural land in the north coastal region of West Java Province by applying both methods to two time intervals: 2003–2013 and 2013–2020. Landsat data and a robust random forest (RF) classifier available in GEE were chosen for producing LULC maps. Monitoring LULC change using GEE and IA has demonstrated reliable findings. The overall accuracy of Landsat image classification results for 2003, 2013, and 2020 were 88%, 87%, and 88%, respectively. IA outputs at interval levels for all categories showed that the annual change-of-area rate was higher during 2013–2020 than during 2003–2013. At the category level, IA results showed that the area of agricultural land experienced net losses in both periods, with net loss in 2013–2020 being 2.3 times greater than that in 2003–2013 (∼1,850 ha per year). In contrast, the built-up area made net gains in both periods, reaching almost twice as much in the second period as in the first (∼2,030 ha per year). The transition-level IA performed proved that agricultural land had been the primary target for the expansion of built-up areas. The most extensive spatial distribution of land conversion from agriculture to built-up area was concentrated in the regencies of Bekasi, Karawang, and Cirebon. These findings are intended to provide stakeholders with enrichment in terms of available literature and with valuable inputs useful for identifying better urban and regional planning policies in Indonesia and similar regions.

Objective: This study was conducted to find out the frequency and characteristics of urovaginal fistula patients. Material & Methods: This study design used a retrospective descriptive research design conducted at a tertiary hospital in West Java, Indonesia (Hasan Sadikin General Hospital) from 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2016. Results: Of all 22 urovaginal fistula patients, the majority in the age range of 41-50 years, and there was one patient in the age range of 61-70 years. Fourteen patients (63.6%) had defects in the bladder, and 36.5% of patients had defects in the ureters. There were nine patients (40.9%) who had urovaginal fistula after undergoing a hysterectomy procedure. The other causes were cervical carcinoma (40.9%), difficult labor (9.1%), radiotherapy (4.5%), carcinoma rectum (4.5%), cesarean section procedure (9.1%), and other gynecological procedures such as myomectomy or cystectomy (9.1%). Based on the type and location of the fistula, the majority of patients had vesicovaginal fistula/VVF (59%), ureterovaginal fistula/UVF (36%), and a combination of ureterovesicovaginal fistula (5%). The causes of VVF and UVF are different from each other. In patients with VVF, the most common cause is cervical carcinoma (35.7%). Meanwhile, the most common cause of UVF is hysterectomy (75%). Conclusion: Of the various types of urovaginal fistulas, vesicovaginal fistulas are the most frequently encountered. In general, the characteristics of urovaginal fistula patients in Hasan Sadikin General Hospital is slightly different from the literature, especially the cause of fistula. At Hasan Sadikin General Hospital, vesicovaginal fistulas are mostly caused by cervical cancer, not a hysterectomy. For ureterovaginal etiology, the characteristics of patients in Hasan Sadikin General Hospital are caused mainly by hysterectomy.

Gobak Sodor is a traditional game that came from Indonesia. Gobak Sodor is also known as a different name in Indonesia and Malaysia, such as Panjang tangan in Riau-Sumatra, Asing in Makassar, Galah Asin in West Java, and Galah Panjang in Malaysia. Gobak Sodor is a game that is played in two groups and has a rule that one group must prevent the opponent through the line back to back. However, Indonesia's open area has gradually reduced so that people difficult to play gobak Sodor. The loss of open land for playing Gobak Sodor and game technology advances make children slowly forget the gobak sodor. In the present time, technology is common for people to support their daily life activities. One of technology implementation form is electronic game, where peoples can play without the limitation of time and space. The electronic game also give pleasure and fun as much as conventional game activities. With the form of electronic game, this research develop a game application which implements all of the gobak sodor rules. Where the players can play the gobak sodor using their mobile device and without the trouble to play on a field or open space. Using electronic game for playing Gobak Sodor gives people satisfaction, awareness. In the hope that this will preserves the traditional game Gobak Sodor. The survey found that 80% of people have an interest to play The Gobak Sodor game.

Income earned by an area in a certain time. The existence of income earned by an area at a certain time has an impact on economic conditions in the area. Bogor City is one of the regions in West Java Province with a fairly good economic movement in 2016-2020, it can be seen in terms of Regional Original Income (PAD) which decreased and increased from 2016-2020. This study will analyze the income received by the city of Bogor in 2016-2020, and will increase economic growth in the city. This study uses a quantitative method, where various data are taken from previous research and using data released by the Bogor City government in 2016-2020. This study found that Bogor City's income was quite good because it was able to increase PAD in 2019 and 2020. This result had an impact on Bogor City's economic growth which also increased. This study concludes that income and good economic development will have a good impact on a certain area for both infrastructure and non-infrastructure development.

Kuningan Regency is the area that has potential in agriculture. One of the leading commodities in Kuningan Regency is sweet potato (Ipomea batatas L). Sweet potato cultivation continues to be developed, even in Cilimus District, it is known as one of the productive production centers in the West Java region which provides sweet potato supplies to several areas to supply sweet potato needs in the West Java region. The problems are faced by farmers today including the increasingly erratic price of sweet potatoes, lack of market opportunities, product diversification, and mastery of cultivation technology. This service activity was carried out in Cilimus Village, Cilimus District, Kuningan Regency with partners of sweet potato farmers. The purpose of this assistance is to provide supply chain assistance for sweet potato marketing so that farmers are able to continuously market sweet potatoes above the production price. Mentoring activities were started from identification of sweet potato problems at the farmer level, identification of production and identification of markets. The using of method is interactive discussion and market mapping conducted together with farmers. Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was used to confirm the cultivation system, production, and marketing system of sweet potato. The result of this activity is that farmers know the marketing potential of sweet potatoes other than middlemen and the quality criteria of sweet potatoes according to industry demand. In addition, farmers also use sweet potatoes as animal feed.

Agricultural development in Indonesia had been conducted in a top-down manner since its independence, which has limited its effectiveness due to the gap between the reality faced by the development actors and actors who are involved in the agricultural supply chain. This paper provides evidence of a more participative model design by involving most of the actors in its process. The study was performed in action research by using a co-creation approach, involving actors who contributed their thoughts in designing the most suitable model that can support them in reaching a more sustainable supply chain for coffee agribusiness in Bandung Regency, West Java, Indonesia. The results show that a co-creation approach has managed to improve the performance of the coffee supply chain by the formation of a cooperative, which enhanced coordination among stakeholders. Furthermore, the involvement of farmers provided significant contributions in the design of the model.
