This study aimed to reduce procrastination in eighth grade students at Junior High School 7 Baubau through group behavioral counseling using assertive techniques. A one group pre-test/post-test design was used. Based on the descriptive analysis results, students’ procrastination before treatment was categorized as ‘high’ with an average score of 70.43%; after treatment, the average score was 31.92%, which was classified as ‘low’; this difference was significant (p = 0.012). From these results, it can be concluded that group behavioral counseling using assertive techniques can reduce academic procrastination in eighth grade students. It is hoped that these results can be used to help guidance and counseling teachers to carry out services to reduce procrastinaton in students. The purpose of this research is to develop the design of the student worksheet Problem-Based Learning to improve the problem-solving ability of eighth-grade junior high school students. This research uses Four-D development model. The development procedure includes four stages: define, design, develop, and dissemination. The subjects of the study were eighth graders of junior high school 9 Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The object of this research is curriculum, student characteristics and evaluation of teaching materials. This research resulted in a) the results of needs analysis of student worksheet Problem Based Learning to improve problem-solving abilities appropriate to the curriculum, student characteristics, learning materials and objectives. b) the results of the Student Worksheet design consisting of the cover, introduction, table of contents, instructions manual, basic competence, supporting information, action steps, and exercise. This research can be continued to develop and dissemination.

The purposes of this study are to analyze the types of grammatical errors and to know the types of grammatical error which are frequently made by the junior high school students in speaking English. The research design in this study was descriptive qualitative design with the eighth grade students in second semester of SMP Negeri 4 Singaraja as the population and 33 students were chosen to be the sample. The instruments that were used to collect the data were researcher and video recorder. The result showed that students made error in omission, addition, misinformation, and misordering. The total of errors reaches 61 times. The highest frequency of error is omission which is 62.30%. The second frequency of error is misordering, 18,4%. The third frequency of error is addition which is 14,75%. The last frequency of error is misformation that is 4,91%. Grammatical error, Speaking

This research is motivated by the level of junior high school students' mathematical problem solving was still low. Based on the preliminary study which conducted by one of the schools in Batam shows the average score for mathematics was 62 for 100 scale. The purpose of this study is to obtain and investigate the improvement of students' problem-solving mastery on relations and functions material as the effect of  PAKEM model. The research method which used is pre-experiment and with one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were VIII grade students of one of the first junior school in Batam at odd semester 2015-2016 academic year, totally 32 students.  Sample of this research were taken by random sampling technique. Students’ problem solving mastery was measured by using problem-solving test, whereas the students’ problem-solving mastery improvement between before and after the concept of effect size implementation was calculated to find the effect size of applying the PAKEM model. The result showed that the effect size of applying the PAKEM model on improving problem solving mastery is 3.3, it means, the PAKEM model implementation on improving problem-solving mastery on function has a strong influence. It can be concluded that the PAKEM model implementation can improve problem solving mastery.

This research believes that junior high school students in eighth grade need suitable and interesting reading material to develop their literacy skills which one way to achieve it is to design graphic novels of learning material on it. This research designed in the form of design and development (D&D) model proposed by Richey and Klein (2007). The development model used in this research was Richey and Klein’s (2007) ADDE model. The result was a graphic novel as an attractive literacy media that was developed for assisting eighth grade junior high school students’ literacy skills. Based on the content validity judgement, the graphic novel was highly relevant to the twelve criteria of a good graphic novel with minor revision. The quality judgment was utilized to determine whether or not the graphic novel was already qualified to serve as a good literacy source by using expert judgement. There were two expert judges and twelve users who took role in judging the quality of the graphic novel. Based on the quality judgement, the graphic novel was categorized as excellent media. Thus, the graphic novel was categorized as excellent media for assisting eighth grade students’ literacy skills.

The development of the science student worksheet based on the bioecology of cuttlefish (Sepia sp.) cultivation is an effort to improve the scientific literacy skills of students at the coastal village school of East Lombok. The purpose of this research is to produce student worksheet that is feasible, practical, and effective in improving students' literacy skills. This research is research and development using Thiagarajan 4D development model which includes design, define, develop, and disseminate stages. The research subjects consisted of 1 SMP/MTs equivalent in East Lombok which were determined using purposive sampling technique. The instruments used include validation sheets, student and teacher response questionnaires, and scientific literacy assessment instruments. The feasibility and practicality data were analyzed using the percentage formula, and the effectiveness data were analyzed using the N-gain analysis. The results showed that 1) student worksheet science based on the bioecology of cuttlefish cultivation (Sepia.sp) was feasible to use with an average score of 73 for the content/material aspect, 73 for the language aspect, and 85 for the appearance aspect, 2) science student worksheet based on the bioecology of cuttlefish cultivation. (Sepia sp.) is practically used with an average percentage of student responses of 81% and teacher responses of 88%, 3) student worksheet science based on the bioecology of cuttlefish cultivation (Sepia.sp) is effective in improving students' scientific literacy skills with an average N value -gain of 0.5 in the medium category. Thus, it can be concluded that the science student worksheet based on the bioecology of cuttlefish (Sepia sp.) cultivation is feasible, practical, and effective to use in science learning as an effort to improve the scientific literacy of junior high school students in coastal village schools in East Lombok.

This study was aimed at improving junior high school students’ vocabulary mastery. The subjects of this study were the students grade 7 of junior high school with a total number of 60 students. The method employed in this study was the Research and Development design. The development model used is the ADDIE modification development model. The steps in the ADDIE development consist of five stages; namely analyzing, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Product trials are carried out in three stages, namely small group trials, operational trials, and large group trials.. The instruments used in development research were observation sheets, interviews, and assessment questionnaires. A t-test was used to analyze the effectiveness of media development. The media then were validated by the media experts, material experts, and teachers. The results shows that the media is feasible with an average score of 4.55. The findings also show that the Interactive Learning Multimedia effectively enhance students’ vocabulary mastery for junior high school students and able to be used as a catalyst or alternative media teaching vocabulary.

The purpose of this study was to develop a realistic worksheet using the Ethnomatematics on SPLDV material and to determine the quality of worksheets in terms of validity and practicality. The method used in this study is the Research and Dependency (R&D) method which is a developmental study referring to the 4-D development model, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate modified to 3-D. The instruments used to measure the quality of worksheets that were developed include validation sheets, and practicality questionnaires. The product of this research is a realistic worksheet using ethnomatematics context on SPLDV material with the advice of eighth grade students of junior high school. The results showed that: (1) the quality of worksheets seen from the validity aspects included in the valid category with an overall average score of 3.06; and (2) the quality of worksheets seen from the practical aspect is categorized very practical with an overall average score of 3.5. Conclusion, the development of PMRI-based worksheets in the context of ethnomatematics in SPLDV material was declared valid and practically used by students. This research was conducted to develop an integrated science practicum guide with the theme of inquiry-based photosynthesis for junior high school students with student learning outcomes and activities. This research is a Research and Development research with small-scale trials in class VIII A and large scale at VIIIB. The results showed that the practical guide was valid and feasible to use by obtaining an average score of> 3.2 from each expert. After calculating the n gain formula, the classical gain n value is 0.56 (moderate), with the classical completeness percentage is 100%. The results of the analysis of students' understanding using practicum guides have been developed with an average of 83.84. Meanwhile, the understanding of students who did not use the practicum guide that had been developed obtained an average of 62.20. This shows that the understanding of students using the practicum guide that was developed is higher than without using the practicum guide that has been developed. The results of student activity increased after the second meeting with an average of 85.47% of students belonging to the "active" and "very active" categories. So it can be concluded that the integrated science practicum guide for inquiry-based photosynthesis for junior high school students has proven valid and suitable for use in learning. Based on the preliminary research, it was found that Junior High School Students of IT Al-Birru Pekanbaru’s speaking skill regarding to recount text was very poor. So, the researcher decided to conduct a Classroom Action Research by using Video Subscribe to improve their speaking skill. It can be stated that the research aims at improving the students of Junior High School of IT Al-Birru Pekanbaru’s speaking skill by using Video Subscribe. The respondents of the research were twenty students of grade VIII.1, Junior High School of IT Al-Birru Pekanbaru. This research was done in a cycle with four meetings and a test. For collecting the data, a test, an observation checklist, field notes, and an interview were distributed. After analyzing the data in cycle I, it was found that the students' speaking ability was improved. It was proved by the students’ speaking criteria score; accent was about 60; grammar was about 74; vocabulary was about 79; fluency was about 72; and comprehension was about 78. So, the average score of students’ speaking ability was 72.4. This students’ speaking improvement was influenced by a factor namely interest. In the other hands, this video subscribe was very interesting media so it could foster the students’ participation and confidence during the process of learning activity especially in speaking regarding to recount text. No more students were inactive. They tended to be focus and active in doing communication such as addressing questions and giving comments.
