Pendahuluan: Tidur merupakan suatu kebutuhan dasar yang harus dipenuhi. Kualitas tidur yang buruk salah satunya dapat disebabkan karena stres dan kondisi kelelahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat stres dan burnout syndrome terhadap kualitas tidur pada mahasiswa ners Fakultas Keperawatan Universitas Airlangga.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif korelasi dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa profesi ners Fakultas Keperawatan Unair program regular dan alih jenis. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 126 responden yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling  dan mahasiswa profesi ners Fakultas Keperawatan Unair dari program regular maupun alih jenis sebagai kriteria inklusi. Variabel independen yaitu tingkat stress dan burnout syndrome dan variabel dependen yaitu kualitas tidur. Data dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), Maslach Burnout Invetory (MBI), Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) dan dianalisis menggunakan uji spearmen’s rho dan uji regresi logistik.Hasil: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif korelasi dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa profesi ners Fakultas Keperawatan Unair program regular dan alih jenis. Poor sleep quality can be caused by stress and fatigue. This study aims to analyze the relationship between stress levels and burnout syndrome with sleep quality on clinical nursing students of the Nursing Faculty at Universitas Airlangga.Method: This study uses a cross-sectional design. The population is clinical nursing student Faculty of Nursing Universitas Airlangga from the regular program and over the program level. The total sample was 126 respondents using a simple random sampling technique. Independent variables are stress level and burnout syndrome and the dependent variable is sleep quality. Data collected by questionnaires Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and then analyzed using spearmen's rho test and logistic regression test.Results:  The results showed that there was a relationship between stress levels and sleep quality (p = 0,000, r = 0,311), there was a relationship between burnout syndrome specifically the dimensions of emotional exhaustion with sleep quality (p = 0,025) and the results of logistic regression tests showed a correlation between stress levels (p = 0,000) and burnout syndrome dimensions of emotional exhaustion (p = 0.025) with the quality of sleep in clinical nursing students of the Faculty of Nursing Universitas Airlangga.Conclusion: The level of stress experienced by clinical nursing students, especially stress in caring for patients and burnout syndrome, especially in the dimensions of emotional exhaustion affect the quality of sleep for clinical nursing students.

AbstractMental illnesses, such as anxiety and depression, are top concerns among college students. Poor sleep quality intensifies the risk of mental illnesses. However, the mechanism for the associations between sleep quality and mental illnesses in college students is not well understood. Online surveys were collected with 242 undergraduate nursing students at a public university in the northeast United States. Multivariate linear regression models suggested that poor sleep quality was associated with an increased risk of symptoms of anxiety (β = 1.08, p < 0.01) and depression (β = 1.00, p < 0.01). Perceived stress mediated the association between sleep quality and symptoms of anxiety by 85.3 %, and mediated the association between sleep quality and symptoms of depression by 60.0 %. This study suggested that in addition to sleep promotion, effective interventions to identify unique stressors in nursing students and facilitate the development of appropriate coping strategies are needed to enhance their mental health and well-being.

Abstract BackgroundClinical placements play an important role in helping nursing students to achieve clinical competence, but these placements can be highly challenging and stressful. It has been shown that stress can be either a trigger or aggravating factor for ill-health in general, but studies have seldom differentiated the impact of general health status on perceived stress. This study examined factors associated with perceived stress of clinical practice among nursing students with a particular focus on the effect of general health status on stress.MethodsThis was a cross-sectional quantitative study conducted among 724 associate nursing degree students in Southern Taiwan. ResultsHealth status scores varied from 28-139, with an average of 68.40 (SD = 25.75). Health status was reported to be ‘good’ (scores 28-55) in 35.5% of participants, moderate (scores 56–83) in 24.6%, and poor (Scores ≧ 84) in 39.9% of participants. Perceived stress scores ranged from 0-95 points with an average score of 36.65 (SD ± 15.95). The CART analysis showed health status as the most important factor linked to perceived stress with a Normalized Importance value of 100%. Those who reported general health status (measured through GHQ-28 ) score of ≤ 34.5 perceived mild stress and those with a score of >34.5–<84.5 perceived moderate stress. A score of 84.5 was found to be the point of transition to perceptions of severe stress. When health status score was greater than 84.5, perceived stress was at a severe or extremely severe level. ConclusionsOur findings indicated health status as a potential measure to identify students who were most vulnerable to perceived stress. Given the cross-sectional design of this study and the bidirectional relationship between health and stress, more studies are needed to fully establish the predictive link between general health status and vulnerability to stress.

Background and objective: Senior nursing students encounter various stressors during their practice in clinical learning environment. Inability to manage these stressors, may affect students’ academic achievement and well-being, which in turn put the nursing profession at risk. This study aimed to examine the association between senior nursing students' perceived stress and learning environment in clinical practice and their coping strategies.Methods: Study subject consisted of 400 senior nursing students enrolled in the 4th academic year at Faculty of nursing-Tanta University. Present study used descriptive design. Four tools were used to collect the data: Nursing Students’ Perception of Stress in Clinical Practice, Physio-Psycho-Social Response Scale, Coping Strategies Scale, and Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure.Results: Senior nursing students’ experienced a high level of stress in clinical practice with total mean (2.87), and their response to stress indicated poor health status with total mean (2.76). Their learning environment need more effort to be improved with total mean score (2.4). There were high statistical significant positive correlation between students’ perception of learning environment and their responses to stress (p < .001).Conclusions: Senior nursing students experienced high level of stress in clinical practice; their responses to stress indicated a poor health status. Majority of them used problem focused disengagement and emotional focused disengagement strategies to deal with stress in clinical practice. Their perception of learning environment indicated a more positive than negative, so learning environment need more effort to be improved. Accordingly we recommend promote healthy, supportive learning environment and refine nursing curricula.

The CART analysis showed health status as the most important predictor to perceived stress.Conclusions: General health status can be used as a measure to predict vulnerability to stress and to identify students who are most vulnerable.
