With the rapid development of modern economy, the scale of cities is constantly expanding and the population is constantly growing. Strengthening urban construction has become one of the important work contents of socialist modernization in China. To build a modern city, road construction is the key work of urbanization. Subgrade is the most important construction link in urban road construction and the important foundation of road engineering. In this paper, combined with the specific conditions of urban roads, the construction technology and management measures of urban road subgrade are deeply explored, and perfect construction schemes and management measures are formulated to provide more reliable reference basis for promoting urban development and construction.

High-type roads in Tanzania have been predominantly of asphaltic concrete construction. This ever enlarging and ageing asphaltic road network represents increasing resource requirements on the road agency in the form of maintenance. Limited resources coupled with the ever sky-rocketing costs of petroleum products and the competing demands of social economic developments, presupposes the need to look for alternative road construction technology that is more cost-effective and resource optimising. Experience gained from developed and some developing countries where concrete pavements have been widely used suggests the potential of this type of pavement in many developingcountries. This paper discusses the technical aspects of design and construction- and maintenance-related aspects of concrete pavements. The discussion extends further to highlight issues pertaining to the performance of concrete pavements and strategies for promoting the use of concrete pavements in Tanzania. Conclusions and recommendationsare made with suggestions on how to start implementing the proposed strategies.

With the rapid development of China's economy, the construction scale of urban transport is also expanding. Among them, municipal road construction is an important part of urban infrastructure as well as an important guarantee for the development of people's livelihood; it is also an important driving force to promote urban transport system and social life development. The author expounds the importance and basic requirements of urban road designing, and discusses some common problems and countermeasures, hoping to be helpful.

In view of good geological condition non-cliff side slope road widening or new road construction, after contrasting and analyzing the characteristics of widening pattern of roads that have been built, lattice slope foundation cantilever structure complex road is proposed. Using slope foundation column which is casted depending on hillside, its top connect with deck of bridge supporting on the cantilever beam ,thus forms the flank roadway structure. This complex road can avoid deep-digging and high filling, lower construction cost. The construction method is simple, slope is also stable. Moreover, in the course of road widening, vehicle traffic will basically not be affected. In this paper, the method of construction technology, working principles, engineering application and economic, technical efficiency and environmental effectiveness have been analyzed, it shows that in road widening under appropriate condition, this method is safe and reliable, can significantly simplify the process, lower cost, and also maximize the protection of natural ecological environment.

In this work, the concept of the smart rain barrel (SRB) as an IoT solution for green infrastructure is presented. The SRB are real-time controlled micro-storages (200 litre) used for an advanced rainwater management. System states and high-resolution weather forecasts from the meteorological service are integrated into the control strategy to provide adequate rainwater for irrigation requirements and to reduce peak runoff in the drainage system. The integration into the smart water infrastructure and the exchange of control commands is done via LoRaWAN, a low-power radio network. For ease of development and to demonstrate the effectiveness of the SRB concept, a two-stage approach was chosen.

First, a prototype of the SRB was built, which is in operation at the university campus of Innsbruck (Austria) during the summer months since 2019. The campus area, also denoted Smart Campus, is part of a pilot project for a “Smart Water City”. This campus is used as both, demonstration object and experimental framework for smart applications in urban water management. The Smart Campus integrates water supply and urban drainage into a joint controlled system, in which natural and anthropogenic water inflows and outflows are measured in real-time. Current measurements encompass water consumptions and pressures in the distribution system, meteorological data at different locations, filling levels in the drainage system, as well as filling levels and soil moistures of decentralised stormwater retention and infiltration systems. The temporal resolution of the measurements is depending on the application between 1 and 15 minutes. By using these high-resolution measurement data, the Smart Campus is an ideal testing ground for smart applications such as the SRB.

In addition, numerical simulations were carried out to test different control strategies and to investigate the effects of a large-scale implementation of the SRBs at community level. The results show that the SRBs can significantly improve system performance (e.g. reduce potable drinking water demand and reduce the risk of flooding) despite their small storage volumes. But the results also demonstrate, that if a large number of SRBs are implemented, a coordinated control strategy to operate SRBs and urban water infrastructure is necessary to avoid a worsening of the system (e.g. generate a combined sewer overflow by simultaneous emptying the SRBs during dry weather flow).

Continuously increasing municipal renovation and roadbed excavation produced a considerable quantity of solid waste each year such us miscellaneous fill mixed with broken pavement fragments and brickbats, which resulted in a series of urban environment and soil resource issues. Comprehensive recycling technology for soil modification to attain the strength requirements of subgrade fillings from the related road construction codes is necessary and even urgent, since the usual soil replacement is not the economic and environment-friendly method. The field investigation and laboratorial tests hereby had been completed to confirm the application potentials of typical soil specimens selected from different locations. The experimental results indicate some of specimens can be reused as subgrade fillings in road construction immediately and others should be treated by soil amelioration. To further certify the practicality of this recycled technology and broaden its range of application, three typical reutilization and treatment techniques, cold recycling, soil solidification and dynamic consolidation are introduced into engineering projects.

This paper has discussed the working principle and characteristics of the new commonly used pipeline repair technology by introducing the currently commonly used pipeline repair technology. The new commonly used pipeline repair technology can be classified as two big kinds including one based on excavation and trenchless technology. When selecting the pipeline repair technology, we mainly considerate four factors: whether excavat pipeline , whether cut off the water and the time of cutting off water , the time of pipeline repair , the materials of pipeline repair, and so on . The actual situation and network features of water supply network in Fangcun district of Guangzhou are analysed , the joint repair technology strategies of water supply network which applies to Fangcun district are discussed by synthesizing the applicability, merit and demerit of new pipeline repair technology, and use these as technical reference and guidance for other similar areas .

According to the site condition of one of the oversea project located in the low-lying and swamp area, special fine sand with fine modulus in values of 0.42-0.62 was used to construct roads in the area through special workmanship and construction techniques. Bamboo materials are designed as piles and supporting system in a reasonable arrangement. The paper provides calculation details of the supporting system of bamboo materials, outlines the construction procedures and construction technique, and describes the contents of quality control and safety construction. It provides good references for road construction in low-lying and swamp areas in similar countries.
