Under current market conditions, the problem of attracting available cash assets of natural and legal persons to bank deposits is one of the urgent tasks in the banking sector of the Russian Federation. Under circumstances of high competition and instability in financial markets, the issue of formation, implementation and objective assessment of deposit policy in commercial banks is becoming increasingly important. Reasonable deposit policy should take into account the selected priorities for further growth and improvement of quantitative and qualitative indicators of bank activity, its customers’ characteristics, and socio-economic conditions in the country. Deposit policy has a great impact on the liquidity and bank ability to meet payments. The authors studied the modern scientific idea to form and implement deposit policy of commercial banks in the process of flexible management of banking passives under the real state of the Russian financial market, and identified directions to improve formation and implementation of deposit policy in Russian commercial banks.

The growing importance of life insurance in the world imposes a greater need for research in this area, particularly in the Western Balkans where the trend of growth has been closely accompanied by life insurance for the past two decades. Taking into consideration that life insurance companies are significant participants in the financial market, this research paper examines the impact of the premium reserve on the volume of financial investments of life insurance companies in Western Balkan countries, based on aggregate data on country level. In order to test its effect, linear correlation and regression models were used, based on data collected for the period 2006-2016. Additionally, comparative analysis was used to compare the position of life insurance companies in financial markets. The results obtained by applying correlation and regression analysis showed that there is a strong positive correlation between premium reserve and financial investments in all of the aforementioned countries in the region. This result is an important strategic guideline for the regulators and policymakers to make advancements in the life insurance sector as well as in the financial market of the Western Balkans.

With the gradual development and improvement of the financial market, financial derivatives such as futures and options have also become the objects of competition in the financial market. Therefore, how to make the most favorable and optimized investment and consumption when options are included? It has become a problem facing investors. Aiming at the optimal investment problem of investors, this paper studies the calculation of an optimal investment strategy in stochastic differential equations in financial market options on the basis of fuzzy theory. Now, stochastic calculus has become an important branch of stochastic analysis, finance, control, and other fields. The study of introducing stochastic differential equations is mainly to solve the stochastic control problem, which is the principle of the stochastic maximum. In finance, some hedging or pricing problems of contingent rights can eventually be transformed into a series of stochastic differential equations. Based on the historical data of five aspects of bank deposits, bonds, funds, stocks, and real estate of four listed insurance companies, the paper analyzes the optimization strategy of the capital investment of listed insurance companies based on the investment yield of the domestic investment market. According to the final results, the historical proportion of bank deposits of the superior company is 27%, and the optimal proportion given by the model is 25%; the total proportion of funds and stocks is 15%, and the optimal proportion of funds analyzed in the model is 20% and the optimal proportion of stocks is 10%. Therefore, the final results show that the investment efficiency of listed insurance companies can actually increase investment in stocks and funds and reduce the proportion of bank deposits to obtain greater investment returns.

Abstract The objective of the hereby paper is the assessment of domestic active asset allocation funds efficiency in the period of 2007-2012, including the comparison of earned return rates against the return rates obtained by other mixed funds, as well as WIG and WIG20 stock exchange indices. Additionally, the purpose of the paper is to analyse the investment policy applied by the above listed funds, carried out based on records included in adequate information prospectuses, and also having considered the investment portfolio compositions presented in annual and 6-month financial reports covering these funds. The assessment of applied investment strategies efficiency is performed based on 12-, 24-, 36-, 48- and 60- month return rates set at the end of 6-month reporting periods. The analysis covered only domestic open-end active asset allocation investment funds included in this group following the definition accepted by Analizy Online investing assets in financial instruments issued by entities, officially seated in Poland or outside Poland and valuating participation units in PLN, which have been operating for at least 24 months from the day of 30th June 2012.

The globalization of financial markets over the past decade has focused the spotlight on the responsiveness of financial firms to international pressures. Insurance markets have traditionally relied on global networks not only to expand the insurers' sphere of influence but also to support domestic business. Until relatively recently, Australian insurance companies have not played a significant role in the development of international markets. However, in the last decade of the twentieth century Australian insurers ventured overseas on a scale without precedence. This article presents an historical perspective on the internationalization of the Australian life-insurance market with a view to understanding why these firms have been classified “late starters” in the internationalization stakes. In a broader capacity it provides insights into the impediments to overseas expansion and the forces encouraging or discouraging the development of cross border networks.

The article illustrates that the process of reforming Ukraine’s economy has been accompanied by an increasing interest in examining and analyzing the major instruments of household savings, as well as ways of their transformation into investment resources. Thus, the purpose of the study is to deepen the theoretical foundations and develop practical recommendations for transforming savings of national households into investment instruments on the Ukrainian financial market. It is formulated that the major instruments of household savings in Ukraine include: bank deposits, funds in the accounts of non-bank financial and credit institutions, cash money in national and foreign currencies, securities, gold, etc. It is pointed out that bank deposits, which are considered to be traditionally more popular and attractive instruments of savings for Ukrainians, not only have significant advantages, but also a number of disadvantages. The non-bank financial and credit institutions, which cooperate closely with the household sector, include credit unions, life insurance companies, and non-state pension funds. However, their activities cannot be compared with banks when it comes to raising household savings. As shown in the article, the insufficient use of such financial instruments as securities by national households is a sign of distrust towards the state and stock market institutions (only about 1-2 % of Ukrainians are willing to invest into stock market instruments). The study indicates that, since the current institutional framework is imperfect, Ukraine’s households cannot function as strategic investors of the national economy. In order to enhance these processes, state executive and administrative bodies should promote national projects aimed at improving financial condition of Ukraine’s households and strengthening their investment presence on the Ukrainian financial market.
