MSWI (municipal solid waste incineration) fly ash, generated in incineration process of municipal solid waste, contains lots of heavy metals, which will do harm do the environment if extracted. In this work, the ash is stabilized by cement to reduce leaching toxicity of heavy metals. Besides, mineralogical compositions of the product of different cement / ash ratios after conservation for different period were analyzed by means of XRD (X-ray diffraction). It was found that major mineralogical compositions CaCO3, Ca (0H)2 and C-H-S hydration products. Content of Ca (0H)2 and C-H-S rises with increase of conservation period and cement / ash ratio.

AbstractAlthough thienopyridines attract attention because of their biological activities, they have not been used as ligands in coordination compounds. Thieno[2,3-b]pyridine was prepared by known procedures; by reduction of 2-nitrothiophene, and reaction of the resulting 2-thienyl ammonium salt with malondialdehyde tetramethylacetal in the presence of zinc chloride. The same procedure was used for the preparation of a new derivative, 2-methylthieno[2,3-b]pyridine, starting from 2-methyl-5-nitrothiophene. The thienopyridines were used in the synthesis of coordination compounds. Chlorides, isothiocyanates, acetates, and chloroacetates of copper(II), nickel(II), or cobalt(II) were used as starting salts. The prepared complexes were characterized by elemental analysis and FT IR. Structures of the four complexes were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.

A mixed-ligand orotato (HOr) complex of Cu(II) with 2,2’-bipyridine (bipy) was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, UV-vis and FT-IR spectroscopy, TG / DTA techniques and X-ray diffraction analysis. X-Ray diffraction analysis has shown that the squarepyramidal five-coordinate copper atom is chelated by the deprotonated N3 pyrimidine atom and the carboxylate oxygen atom of the bidentate orotato dianion, and to the two nitrogen atoms of the 2,2’- bipyridine molecule. A water molecule is attached above the N3O plane. Thermal analyses showed that the title compound decomposes in two steps over the range 20 - 1000 °C on heating in a static air atmosphere. Intermolecular hydrogen-bonds and π-ring interactions lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

Bis(di-sec-butyldithiophosphato)cadmium(II) forms a 2:1 adduct with hexamethylenetetramine (urotropine), which was characterized by FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy. The compound is a dinuclear complex with the cadmium atoms coordinated at two nitrogen atoms of hexamethylenetetramine cage which is the actual coordination center. The X-ray diffraction analysis of the complex reveals a distorted square pyramidal coordination of the five-coordinate cadmium atoms. At each cadmium, one dithiophosphato group behaves as slightly anisobidentate whereas the other one is an isobidentate chelating ligand.

Thermolysis of [8,8-(PMe2Ph)2-nido-8,7-PtCB9H11] in boiling toluene solution results in an elimination of the platinum centre and cluster closure to give the ten-vertex closo species [6-(PMe2Ph)-closo-1-CB9H9] in 85% yield as a colourles air stable solid. The product is characterized by NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Crystals (from hexane-dichloromethane) are monoclinic, space group P21/c, with a = 903.20(9), b = 1 481.86(11), c = 2 320.0(2) pm, β = 97.860(7)° and Z = 8, and the structure has been refined to R(Rw) = 0.045(0.051) for 3 281 observed reflections with Fo > 2.0σ(Fo). The clean high-yield elimination of a metal centre from a polyhedral metallaborane or metallaheteroborane species is very rare.

Dinuclear rhodium(I) η2:η2-cycloocta-1,5-diene (series a) and η2:η2-norborna-2,5-diene (series b) complexes with μ-RCOO- ligands, where R is linear C21H43 (complexes 1a, 1b), CH2CMe3 (2a, 2b), 1-adamantyl (3a, 3b) and benzyl (4a, 4b), have been prepared and characterized by spectroscopic methods. Structures of complexes 2b, 3a and 4a were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. Complexes prepared show low to moderate catalytic activity in polymerization of phenylacetylene in THF giving high-cis-transoid polymers, but they show only oligomerization activity in dichloromethane.
