Abstract Students in the agroecosystem area are generally less active because the teacher does not utilize the potential of the surrounding agroecosystem. This can be overcome by applying Brain-Based Learning (BBL) approach combined with AT collaborative learning model. This study aimed to produce Analytic Team learning model based on Brain-Based Leaning (AT-BBL) that is valid, practical, and effective, and also improves the students' critical thinking skills and learning outcomes. This study used R&D with 4D development model which only carried out three stages, namely define, design, and development without using the disseminate stage. The average validation is 86.98 (highly valid). The average percentage of teacher responses is 92.94%, and the average percentage of student responses is 91.22% which is very practical.   Keywords: Agroecosystem, BBL approach, Analytic Team Learning Model, Collaborative Learning

Agroecosystem plays an important role in the national economy. However, the role of agroecosystem in education in the form of teaching and learning has not been used optimally. It is less in providing opportunities for students to develop their mindset based on their abilities so that the students do not understand the potential requiring the surrounding area. Learning models that can provide opportunities for students to develop are suitable with the 2013 curriculum. Modification of collaborative learning Cells with Brain-Based Learning (BBL LC) model makes the learning appropriate for the 2013 curriculum. The purpose is to obtain a valid, effective, and practical model which is suitable for the junior high school science learning in the agroecosystem area. The research type is development research (R & D) by using the 4-D model but, only use three stages; Define, Design, and Develop stages without using Disseminate stage. This research was conducted at Junior High School 7 Jember. The data collection techniques were filling out the validation sheet, interview, observation, test, and documentation. The data analysis techniques include data analysis from the validation results, model analysis, and model effectiveness analysis. The model validity was the average results of the product validation (85.81%) in a very valid category. The model effectiveness was the average of¬N-gain learning outcomes (0.53) and students' problem-solving skill questionnaires (75.87% ) in a good category. The model practicality was from the teacher and student response questionnaires with an average of about 92.94% and 94% which belongs to a very practical category.

This study aims to analyse textbooks used by students based on the scientific approach as the realization of learning objectives using the 2013 curriculum. This study did several things: first, an investigation of the teaching materials used by students based on the scientific approach, second studied the suitability of the content of textbooks used by students with the syllabus in the 2013 curriculum, thirdly investigating the contribution of textbooks used to higher-order thinking skills. Research method used is mixed methods namely descriptive method and survey study at Islamic Junior High School in Medan. There are 3 textbooks that will be analysed, the textbooks from three different publishers which used by the school. The total number of students who participated in this study were 201 students. Where students who participated in the study were selected based on purposive random sampling through certain considerations, the students come from Islamic Junior High School An Nizam, Islamic Junior High School Ulun Nuha, and Islamic Junior High School Al Fityan, the condition and character of schools are almost same, so is expected the homogeneous sample. The results obtained are: (1) From the three books, the results of conformity assessment with the syllabus in book A are 65%, book B is 80%, and book C 40%; (2) The evaluation results of the textbooks by using the scientific steps find that book A obtained a score of 53 in the low category, book B got a score of 58 in the low category, and book C got a score of 55 also in the low category; 3) The results of the assessment of HOTS ability of students from each school that use books A, B, and C are on the average low category.

Agroecosystem area has abundant natural resources, but these natural resources cannot be utilized as learning resources needed in the learning process of students becoming passive, comfortable and power-efficient in remembering students. Learning involving students is done by learning Brain-Based Learning (BBL) collaborated with Talking Chips type collaborative learning model. The purpose of this study is to obtain a development process, obtain a valid model, and obtain a Talking Chips learning a model based on Brain-Based Learning (BBL) that is practical for SMP learning in the Agroecosystem area. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 9 Jember with research subjects of class VII B in the academic year 2018/2019. The type of this research was (research and development), using 4-D model Thiagarajan, but only used 3 stages define, design, and develop. The technique of collecting data is by collecting product validation data, test methods, interviews with teachers, questionnaire teachers and students and observations. The data analysis technique consisted of product validation analysis, analytic analysis with N-gain and learning retention, and practicality analysis. The product validation results, which are 89.33%, are categorized as very valid. The effectiveness of learning outcomes is 0.78 with a high category while the retention results obtained based on the learning retention analysis are 89 with a high category. The results of practicality obtained from the teacher questionnaire response were 98%, the category was very good and the questionnaire student responses were 96% with a very good category.

Character building becomes an essential part in the science learning process to prepare the students as the next generations of our nations. This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective learning model combined with indigenous science content for junior high school students in developing local wisdom-based characters and high-order thinking skills. This research is a a research and development (R & D) approach with the Borg and Gall model involving 36 junior high school science teachers (72 teachers). The research instrument were a character questionnaire as well as a test of problem-solving, critical and creative thinking tests, along with an assessment rubric to measure the depth of students' cognitive abilities. From the results of the learning model trial, it was found that there are eight characters based on Balinese local wisdom that can be developed in science learning for junior high school students namely religious, being honest (satyam), tolerance (tat twam asi), responsible (sesana/swadharma), curious, jengah, hardworking and generous, caring and friendly with nature. Conceptually, the core stages of the junior high school science learning model to develop Balinese local wisdom based characters include: initial exploration, investigation from various perspectives, elaboration, and confirmation and reinforcement. The stages in the science learning model that develop characters based on local wisdom provide opportunities for teachers to improve students' cognitive abilities, especially in the realm of higher-order thinking skills.
