Current Argentinean Patagonian narrative possesses Nadine Alemán (Esquel, 1977) as one of its most suggestive and creative voices. This assertion is based on her capacity to construct a narrative imaginary that produces performance effects, derived from the confluence and evocation of other languages that can be found in the literary reception of 17 simples cuentos (2006) and of El cura y la sucia (2012). The traditional boundaries that tend to restrict literature to a specific field of critical action seem, in consequence, to become fuzzy. Thus, performance ―as a “methodological lense”, according to Diana Taylor― is made into a certain possibility that widens perspectives to approach this Spanish American writing proposal.

Not very long ago, scholars saw it fit to name a new and quite widespread phenomenon they had observed developing over the years as the “judicialization” of politics, meaning by it the expanding control of the judiciary at the expenses of the other powers of the State. Things seem yet to have begun to change, especially in Migration Law. Generally quite a marginal branch of the State's corpus iuris, this latter has already lent itself to different forms of experimentations which then, spilling over into other legislative disciplines, end up by becoming the new general rule. The new interaction between the judiciary and the executive in this specific field as it is unfolding in such countries as the UK and Switzerland may prove to be yet another example of these dynamics.

This article aims to examine the Polish literary reception of the French Revolution during the period of Romanticism. Its main focus is on how Polish writers displaced their more immediate experiences of revolutionary events onto a backdrop of ‘ancient revolutions’, in which revolution was described indirectly by drawing on classical traditions, particularly the history of ancient Greeks and Romans. As this classical tradition was mediated by key works of German and French thinkers, this European context is crucial for understanding the literary strategies adopted by Polish authors. Three main approaches are visible in the Polish reception, and I will illustrate them using the works of Zygmunt Krasiński (1812–1859), Juliusz Słowacki (1809–1849) and Cyprian Norwid (1821–1883). My comparative study will be restricted to four works: Krasiński's Irydion and Przedświt (Predawn), Słowacki's Agezylausz (Agesilaus) and Norwid's Quidam.
