Abstract Transperitoneal laparoscopic ureterolithotomy is a well-established minimally invasive procedure for management of large impacted ureteric stones since the last 3 decades. We present a case of a 51 years old gentleman, who presented with bilateral large upper ureteric calculi with obstructive uropathy and azotemia, managed successfully with bilateral synchronous 3-port transperitoneal laparoscopic ureterolithotomy, and to our knowledge is the first such case to be reported in literature.

Neuropathy of dorsal scapular nerve (DSN) following neck dissections or radiotherapy has not been reported so far nor has its treatment in the form of hydro-dissection. Hydro-dissection of nerve under ultrasound guidance has been receiving more attention in the recent past and it is a minimally invasive procedure. We report here a case of neuropathy of DSN following radiotherapy in a patient for whom we could at least provide pain relief as a palliative measure during his past 6 months of life.

Transcanal endoscopic ear surgery is a minimally invasive procedure that allows a clear visualization of the middle ear. Recently, indications for endoscopic surgery have been expanding. We performed combined underwater endoscopic and microscopic surgery for external auditory canal cholesteatoma, the computer tomography of which indicates the possibility of cholesteatoma not only in the canal wall but also in the mastoid. The 30° endoscope and underwater technique makes the surgical view clear, and we could remove the cholesteatoma without canalplasty. To the best of our knowledge, no case of external auditory canal cholesteatoma treated with underwater endoscopic and microscopic surgery has been previously reported. This case indicates that the procedure could be a good indication for external auditory canal cholesteatoma.

The Face

It is a great challenge to establish aesthetic excellence creating harmony between beauty and the function of the smile with the delicacy and complexity of the lips and components of the face. The use of soft tissue fillers with hyaluronic acid is a worldwide popular and minimally invasive procedure based on numerous studies. Due to its relative simplicity and favorable security profile, it is becoming easy to accept. The present case report aims to describe the lip filling technique, using a total volume of 1 ml of hyaluronic acid, to improve the patient’s aesthetic dissatisfaction. The result was satisfactory, with minimal side effects and optimizing the patient’s self-esteem.

The rhinoplasty is also an aesthetic process, where it depends the correct form to be made. Small nasal defects can be corrected with fillers. Hyaluronic acid is one of the most commonly used fillers lately due to efficacy, predictability, reversibility, local anesthesia, rapid patient recovery, and few postoperative complications. The objective of this study was to present a case report based on rhinomograms as a safe application protocol and its advantages to the surgeon. It was concluded that rhinoplasty with hyaluronic acid is a minimally invasive procedure and few side effects when respecting the limits of each region. Regarding the clinical case, there was an evident improvement in the eformities and nasal contour in the photographic evaluation performed immediately after the reported procedure. The patient informed that she’s pleased with the result.

We report a case of cement leakage into the posterior spinal canal due to inadvertent pedicle perforation during balloon kyphoplasty. The leakage was corrected immediately without any sequelae. Features seen on radiography and the minimally invasive procedure used for removal are described. The postoperative radiographs of 100 consecutive patients treated with balloon kyphoplasty were subsequently reviewed. Only one patient had a similar leakage but had no neurological complications.
