This chapter will focus on the problem of design of automatic trading system for futures trading, specifically its design lifecycle. This is a task that can be divided into several phases. In this chapter we focus on the selection of proper environment (i.e. choose the right market and commodity), choosing appropriate set of tools (fundamental or technical analysis indicators) and creating the automatic trading system itself, which has to follow rules of money (risk) management and trading psychology. The chapter stresses the importance of the system`s acceptability for the user. The last phase covers the topic of testing and optimization. This chapter provides a general overview of each of these phases together with a discussion of typical issues.

Risk misallocation has been a topic of discussion in the extent literature for some time now. The literature points out that risk management is the key to ensuring that optimal risk allocation is achieved. While the focus on risk allocation has been about the party best suited to carry a given risk, the issue of how misallocation occurs is rarely dealt with. This paper modeled how risk misallocation can result from contract practice. This was done through a literature review and 15 purposive heterogeneous semi-structured interviews conducted with clients, project managers, architects, engineers and quantity surveyors in the Zambian building sector. The derived model suggests that misallocation could result from inappropriate selection of risk mitigation mechanisms provided for in the contract, poor selection of contracts and use of inappropriate procurement routes. These findings advance knowledge that necessitates the allocation of risk appropriately as the areas of contract practice and risk management are rarely researched with regards to risk misallocation.

Threats can trigger incidents in information systems (IS) causing damage or intangible material loss to assets. A good selection of safeguards is critical for reducing risks caused by threats. This paper deals with the selection of failure transmission, preventive and palliative safeguards that minimize the maximum risk of an IS for a specified budget. We assume that all the elements in the IS are valuated using a linguistic scale, which is capable of accounting for imprecision and/or vagueness concerning the inputs. Trapezoidal fuzzy numbers are associated with these linguistic terms, and risk analysis and management is consequently based on trapezoidal fuzzy number arithmetic. We model and solve the respective fuzzy optimization problem by means of the simulated annealing metaheuristic and give an example to illustrate the safeguard selection process.

This paper introduces risk factors in the field of healthcare and discusses the clinical risks, identification, risk management methods, and tools as well as the analysis of specific situations. Based on documentary analysis, an efficient and coherent methodological choice of an informative and non-interpretative approach, it relies on “unobtrusive” and “non-reactive” information sources, such that the research results are not influenced by the research process itself. To ensure objective and systematical analysis, our research involved three macro-phases: (a) the first involved a skimming (a superficial examination) of the documents collected; (b) the second reading (a thorough examination) allowed a selection of useful information; (c) the third phase involved classification and evaluation of the collected data. This iterative process combined the elements of content and thematic analysis that categorised the information into different categories which were related to the central issues for research purposes. Finally, from the perspective of safety analysis and risk management, we suggest that comprehensive control and operation should be conducted in a holistic way, including patient safety, cost consumption, and organizational responsibility. An organizational strategy that revolves around a constant and gradual risk management process is an important factor in clinical governance which focuses on the safety of patients, operators, and organizations.

The aim of this study is to make information security risk management for SAKTI. The reason behind the study is SAKTI still does not have any tool to ensure the availability and continuity of SAKTI services. In order to make information security risk management for SAKTI, this study using the guidelines from several frameworks such as of ISO 27005 and NIST SP 800-30. The output of this study is the security risk management information for SAKTI, that contains the process of risk identification, selection of controls to mitigate risk, and acceptance of risk by risk owners.

While SMEs are widespread and largely influence the economy of nations, its risk management is little known and has received limited attention. With regards to the importance of the managers in these types of companies; the purpose of this paper will be to investigate the relationships that may exist between the profile of the managers of the SMEs and the choice of risk mitigation strategies. By so doing, it turns out that the perception of risk, the managers and their levels of higher education influence the adoption of risk mitigation strategies in SMEs. In addition, the strategies used to manage risk are diversification, cooperation, selection of suppliers and insurance.
