Employee turnover is a major concern for organizations. Specifically, among private business schools, it is proved to be one of the major impediments in carrying out academic activities. This phenomenon creates a conundrum for both college administrations and students. Therefore, each academic unit must work to minimize employee turnover. This study aims to identify the elements that influence academicians’ turnover intentions and the ways to negate them. It used a random sample of 236 academicians (professors, assistant professors, associate professors, and lecturers) from various business schools in India. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were used to analyze the sample. In addition, the structural equation modeling (SEM) approach was used to examine the hypotheses. All variables studied had high loadings of 0.50 or more in CFA. The research model was shown to be fit on three important absolute fit indices: absolute, incremental, and parsimonious. The regression weights of hypotheses were also determined to be significant. The findings indicate that organizational support, compensation, and personnel management had a detrimental effect on turnover intentions at business schools. These results can be used by college administration and management in devising interventions that will assist them in retaining existing talented staff and avoiding the negative repercussions of future turnover.

The current study aims to explore factors which influence perceptions of employees and shape their intentions to leave the organization. It utilizes psychological factors that serve as baseline for turnover intentions. Data of 404 employees were taken from banking sector and evaluated through structural equation modeling in AMOS. Results reveal interesting insights identifying intrinsic rewards as significant factor in countering the turnover intentions whereas, justice perception and organizational support do not play direct role in shaping employees perceptions. Results carry managerial and practical guidelines that can be useful for organizations for creating a strategic taskforce.

Purpose This study aims to explore the antecedents that may lead to turnover intentions among police personnel in the United Arab Emirates. Design/methodology/approach The data were collected from police personnel (n = 176) through a questionnaire survey, and structural equation modeling was used to test the relationships. Findings The findings revealed that the work-family conflict and job autonomy significantly correlate with turnover intentions. Alternatively, perceived organizational support does not predict turnover intentions. Research limitations/implications This research is limited by the study’s subjective assessment of police personnel turnover intentions through self-reported questionnaires. It provides implications for policymakers, organizational behavioral experts and those interested in formulating effective strategies to reduce turnover among police personnel. Originality/value This study offers a novel context as it assesses police personnel in an emerging Middle Eastern country. It provides insights to policymakers and academia concerning the factors strongly linked with police personnel turnover intentions and will help them formulate strategies for improving personnel satisfaction and advancing relationships between police and the community.

Literatures in the field of psychometrics recommend researchers to employvarious of methods on measuring individual attributes. Ideally,each methods are complementary and measuresthe construct designed to be measured. However, some problems arise when among the methods is unique and unrelated to the construct being measured. The uniqueness of method can lead what is called the method effect. In testing construct validity using confirmatory factor analysis, the emergence of this effect tend to reducing the goodness of fit indices of the model. There are many ways to solve these problem, one of themis controling the method effects and accommodate it to the model. This paper introduces how to accommodate method effecton the confirmatory factor analysis using structural equation modeling. In the application section, author identify the emergence of method effects due to the differences item writing direction (favorable-unfavorable). The analysis showed that method effectemerge from different writing direction.

This is a theoretical paper that aims to explore the determinants of employee turnover intention among retail SMEs in Dubai in terms of incivility (customer, coworker, supervisor) and the mediating role of emotional exhaustion with the moderating effect of resilience. The retail industry in Dubai will be one of the main beneficiaries of the study since it appears that they suffer high turnover intention and cost. Managements and owners of retail SMEs in Dubai would be able to get a better idea of the determinants of employee turnover intention and workplace incivility through the analysis and recommendations developed by the research. Data would be gathered from participants (i.e. employees of retail SMEs in Dubai) who have direct contact with customers, coworkers and supervisors/ management. Viewed in this manner, data gathered would be analyzed in two stages, using descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling using computer software including, SPSS/STATA, AMOS/ Smart-PLS. This paper would elaborate the literature on turnover intention and incivility Subsequently, the research will illustrate the mediating role emotional exhaustion and the moderation effect of resilience among retail SMEs employees in Dubai. Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore the influence of perceived external prestige (PEP), perceived organizational support (POS), and organizational inducement (OI) on employee turnover intention (TI) and on the mediation effect of trust in organizations (TOs). Design/methodology/approach – In all, 243 self-administered questionnaires were collected from five service companies in Guangdong, China. The construct validity, the measurement model, and the hypothetical relationship between variables were tested by partial-least-squares structural equation modeling. Findings – The results demonstrate that OI, PEP, and POS tended to increase employees’ trust in their organization and hence to reduce their TI. Practical implications – The findings of this study have implications for managers’ design and implementation of effective human resource management strategies for adults in China. To deal with the serious problem of high employee turnover in China, organizations should implement not only appropriate human resource policy but also practices to improve corporate reputation. Originality/value – This paper extends the research on TI by investigating the impacts of PEP and the mediating effect of TOs in a Chinese context.

Research has determined that organizational culture is related to employee turnover, job commitment, and job satisfaction. Assessment of this culture requires an instrument that befits the type of organization under examination. Using exploratory factor analysis, Stohr and her colleagues were able to demonstrate that the Organizational Culture Instrument (OCI) had a solid reliability and validity profile. The current study reanalyzes these data, using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. The findings indicate that there is statistical evidence to claim validation of the OCI and its seven theoretically based dimensions.

In developing countries, there is arguably little or no research study done to evaluate the outcome of path analysis of Job satisfaction (JS), Job motivation (JM), Perceived organizational support (POS), and Turnover Intentions (TIs) on sales professionals in the pharmaceutical marketing industry, using structural equation modeling techniques (SEM). The objective of the study was to evaluate the direct and indirect effects of the relationship between Job satisfaction (JS), Job motivation (JM), Perceived organization support (POS), and Turnover intentions (TI). TI was operationalized as an Intention-to-leave firm for another in the same Industry (TWI) and Intention-to-leave industry entirely (TWO).

This research aims to examine wher work environment influences employee turnover intentions at PT TSA. In addition, this study also examines Job Satisfaction and Motivation as an intervening variable as mediating role toward influence of Work Environment on employee turnover intentions. In some literature found that  variable Job Satisfaction and Motivation variables cannot mediate  influence of Work Environment on Turnover Intention, refore researchers want to reconfirm it once  more.This study uses  entire population of 256 workers at PT TSA outlets as respondents. In this study re are 5 (five) hyposes to test  direct effect and 2 (two) hyposes to test  indirect effect through analysis techniques using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS 22 software. n in  mediation test  researcher uses  Sobel test to test  significance of  effect of mediation found in  research model.  results of hyposis testing state that all hyposes made on  research model are accePTed.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to cast followers in an active role, and proposes a research model in which follower’s implicit leadership theory (ILT) congruence (ILT congruence) influences perceptions of transformational leadership (TL) and the quality of leader-member exchange (LMX) relationship. In addition, the authors expect LMX to mediate the influence of ILT congruence and TL on outcomes. Design/methodology/approach – The research model was tested with data collected at three different points in time from 210 newly hired employees. Results of structural equation modeling provided strong support for the overall model. Findings – This study focussed on extending the understanding of leader-follower relationships. First, ILTs measured on the first day of employment shaped new entrants’ perceptions of TL measured 30 days after date of hire. Second, both ILT congruence and TL influenced the quality of LMX measured approximately 90 days from followers’ date of hire. As expected, LMX fully mediated the influence of ILT congruence and perceptions of TL on the dependent variables of turnover intentions, organizational identification and perceived organizational support (POS). Practical implications – Organizations should focus on measuring and developing LMX quality during the early phases of a follower’s socialization into the organization. Consistent with other research (Erdogan and Liden, 2002), LMX was a significant predictor of turnover intentions, organizational identification, and POS. Given the cost of turnover, organizations focussed on developing high quality LMX relationships could realize dramatic results. Originality/value – This study extends prior research by showing LMX fully mediates the influence of followers’ ILTs and transformational leader behaviors on POS, organizational identification and turnover intentions. By using data collected at three points in time from new employees, the authors demonstrated the effect of ILT congruence on the early development of LMX. Additionally, the results showed high ILT congruence leads followers to perceive their leaders as more transformational. Finally, data show the effects of ILT congruence and TL perceptions on turnover intentions, POS and organizational identification were fully mediated by LMX.
