Cement is the main constituent ingredient in concrete. Now days many investigations undergone for substitute of cement due to green houses effect and global warming  .Many new products like rice husk ash, egg shell powder, baggage ash, etc are used as an effluent replacement material for cement. The new and Practical material for substitute of cement is water hyacinth ash .Water hyacinth ash (WHA), is used as an effectual replacement of partial cement, and it has been proved in several characteristics of concrete. The main important parameters in concrete are strength, durability and workability. In this paper, 10 % of cement replaced by water hyacinth ash   to investigate the effects of WHA on  durability and Strength  in concretes. On this basis, specimens were engrossed in water and acid to study the absorption property, acid attack and compared to conventional concrete. The test results show that replacement of cement by WHA in concrete has improved the parameters of concrete.

The adsorbent pellet for As(III) removal was prepared from ground oyster shell and rice husk ash. The effects of particle size of oyster shell powder (OS) and the ratio between the OS and Treated rice husk ash (TRHA) on the stability of the adsorbent pellet were studied. The adsorbent pellet was characterized by XRD, XRF and SEM. The solubility and As(III) adsorption tests were performed. The results showed that the adsorbent pellet prepared from OS size <106 μm with OS:TRHA ratio of 0.7:0.3 could provide As(III) maximum adsorption capacity of approximately 26.20 mg/g. Furthermore, the XRD and SEM results indicated that the adsorbent pellet could consist of two parts i.e. CaO that could adsorb As(III) in the form of Ca-As-O and the CaSiO3 and C-S-H compounds which behaved as a binder to bind the precursor powders to be stable adsorbent pellet without cracking.

Considering sustainability as issue which means creating or maintaining changes in a balanced structure. Concrete is considered as the main constituent of the building industry and its main component is cement but cement releases almost 5 % of Co2 of the world wide emission. To use sustainability as the prominent resources in order to conserve future generation and to find the alternative materials of cement as it emits more Co2 while production. Cement can be replaced by many materials like fly ash, slag, silica fume, metakaolin, egg shell powder, rice husk ash etc. Cements alternative materials such as by-products are been researched upon.
