The authors developed a validated office ergonomics checklist that focused on outcomes instead of workstation features. The workstation is evaluated primarily through observed working postures and movement patterns while the subject performs their usual tasks. A guidebook for the improvement of computer workstations is keyed to the checklist, to lead the user in reducing risk factors and improving workstation ergonomics. The checklist was first validated in a field test with three expert evaluators. The checklist and guidebook were later tested with a large employer and used as a self-evaluation instrument, by a co-worker, and by an Ergonomics Coordinator with training and experience. Workstations were evaluated by an independent ergonomist before and after interventions were made. Results indicated that the checklist and guidebook were effective in making significant improvements in workstation conditions when administered by an Ergonomics Coordinator, but not when used as a self-assessment or by an untrained co-worker.

En el ámbito universitario para asegurar la calidad y el mejoramiento continuo de los programas educativos, es necesario someterse a un proceso de evaluación a través de un organismo acreditador. Dentro de este proceso, el primer paso necesario es la autoevaluación del programa educativo, el cual consiste en reunir información sustantiva que permita evidenciar el cumplimiento de los criterios que ha establecido el organismo acreditador. Las Tecnologías de la Información (TI) se han convertido en un componente fundamental de las universidades en todos sus ámbitos: docencia, investigación y administración. En el presente trabajo, se presenta el diseño y la implementación de un sistema de información que permite concentrar las evidencias de las diferentes categorías e indicadores del instrumento de evaluación utilizado por el Consejo Nacional de Acreditación en Informática y Computación (CONAIC). In the university context to ensure the quality and continuous improvement of educational programs, it is necessary to undergo an evaluation process through an accrediting body. Within this process, the first necessary step is the self-evaluation of the educational program, which consists of gathering substantive information that makes it possible to demonstrate compliance with the criteria established by the accrediting body. Information Technology (IT) has become a fundamental component of universities in all their fields: teaching, research and administration. In this paper, the design and implementation of an information system that allows to concentrate the evidences of the different categories and indicators of the evaluation instrument used by the National Accreditation Council in Computing and Computing (CONAIC) is presented.

RESUMENEl trabajo que se presenta en este artículo pretende dar luz sobre el actual desempeño profesional del orientador en los institutos de educación secundaria, asimismo sirve para la creación de un instrumento de medida válido para la valoración y autovaloración de las funciones del orientador. Para ello hemos analizado las respuestas dadas por los orientadores de los institutos de secundaria de la provincia de Salamanca, tanto en las entrevistas personales mantenidas con ellos, como en la respuesta a los diferentes instrumentos de valoración. Los resultados sugieren dos factores principales que influyen en el desempeño del orientador, por un lado el apoyo del equipo directivo y por otro el modelo de trabajo tanto de los profesores del centro como del propio orientador. Por último se presenta un modelo para futuras líneas de investigación, así como un anexo en el que los orientadores manifiestan sus preocupaciones personales y profesionales.ABSTRACTThe work reported in this paper aim to enlighten about the present professional performance of secondary school counsellors. At the same time, it has been created an evaluation and self-evaluation instrument of counsellors tasks. Answers to personal interviews and to evaluation instruments from Secondary School Salamanca educational counsellors has been analysed. Results suggest that two principal factors are influencing in performance, in one hand the support of management team and in the other hand the counsellor and teachers team model of working. In the end we present two appendix, a model of future research lines about these subjects and some personal and professional worries of counsellors.
