Abstract AISI Type 405 has marginal stainless corrosion resistance. It is used primarily as a structural material. It is serviceable in continuous service up to 1300 F and in intermittent exposures up to 1500 F. It does not harden appreciably when air cooled from high temperatures where some austenite may exist. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-129. This topic is considered to modify the fast-growing Poplar to improve the properties, in order to fully meet the performance requirements for the structural material. This study aims to improve the dimensional stability and some other mechanical properties through impregnated with the low-molecular-weight PF resin. Through design orthogonal test in different mole ratio of Formaldehyde and Phenol, different amount of NaOH and PVA, we make PF resin to impregnate Poplar and pressing into laminated timber to measure bonding strength, MOR, MOE. The study indicated that: the optimum conditions of the low molecular weight PF resin for modify Poplar are: mole ratio of Formaldehyde and Phenol is 2.4, mole ratio of NaOH and phenol is 0.05, amount of PVA is 3% of the phenol. Under this condition Poplar specimen got the biggest increase in various properties and it can satisfy the requirements of the outdoor wood structure.

The results of an experimental study of damage for the structural material MoNiCa (it is high-strength cast iron VCHTG – patent of the Republic of Belarus № 15617) on sliding friction and mechano-sliding fatigue are analyzed in the report. Tests of the mechanical system shaft (a sample with a working part diameter of 10 mm made of 0.45 % carbon steel) - an insert (a prismatic counter sample with a cross section of 10 ´ 10 mm made of MoNiCa) were carried out. The kinetics of the change in average wear at 8 local points along the perimeter of the dangerous area of the sample is given for contact loads FN from 20 to 92 N of the mechanical system under study with MoNiCa inserts without heat treatment and with heat treatment. The test results of the system under study are also presented in the form of sliding friction and mechano-sliding fatigue curves in coordinates of the contact load FN – the number of cycles N until the limit state.
