This paper deals with pulsations in pressure and flow in the reciprocating compressor and connected piping system. A model is presented that describes the excitation at the compressor and the propagation of the pulsations in the interconnected piping. It has been adapted to digital computations to predict the pulse magnitudes in reciprocating compressor piping systems and to assess measures for their control. Predicted results have been compared with field test data and with simplified limiting condition results. A discussion of its practical application is included.

Speech synthesis is the process of producing natural-sounding, highly intelligible synthetic speech simulated by a machine in such a way that it sounds as if it was produced by a human vocal system. A text-to-speech (TTS) synthesis system is a computer-based system where the input is text and the output is a simulated vocalization of that text. Before the 1970s, most speech synthesis was achieved with hardware, but this was costly and it proved impossible to properly simulate natural speech production. Since the 1970s, the use of computers has made the practical application of speech synthesis more feasible.

It has come to light that the poor electrochemical cycle stability of RE-Mg-Ni based AB3and A2B7-types electrode alloys limited their practical application as the negative electrode materials of Ni-MH battery. In order to improve the electrochemical cycle stability of the La-Mg-Ni system A2B7-type electrode alloys, La in the alloy is partially substituted by Pr and the melt-spinning technology was used for preparing La0.75−xPrxMg0.25Ni3.2Co0.2Al0.1(x = 0-0.4) electrode alloys. The microstructures and electrochemical cycle stability of the as-cast and spun alloys were investigated. The results obtained by XRD, SEM and TEM show that the as-cast and spun alloys have a multiphase structure which consists of two main phases (La, Mg)2Ni7and LaNi5as well as a residual phase LaNi2. The substitution of Pr for La gives rise to a visible grain refinement of the as-cast alloys instead of changing the phase structure of the alloys. The electrochemical measurement indicates that the cycle stability of the alloy remarkably grows with increasing both Pr content and spinning rate.

In order to reduce error of the wheel run-out detection system, a harmonic-analysis-based detection method was proposed to enhance the precision of online detection. The moving average filtering method was used for digital filtering between the axial and radial run-out errors so that to decrease the effect of outside noise on the measured data. Practical application shows that this system works stably and reliably on the wheel detection line and it realizes 100% online detection on the axial and radial run-out of work pieces, with the measurement error lower than 0.1mm.
