One of the problems that exist in the community is the lack of identification of the reproductive performance of prospective brooders of Bali cattle that are artificially inseminated. The researcher conducted a research to determine the reproductive performance of Bali Cattle inseminated with Brahman Cattle Semen in SECP (Special Effort for Cows to be Pregnant Program) Program in Kolaka Regency. The parameters observed in this study were; artificial insemination's first age (Years), How many times the artificial insemination (AI) was pregnant (S/C), Length of pregnancy (months), Calving Interval (CI) (months), Birth weight (Kilograms), Correlation of AI's first age with birth weight. Sources of date used in this study are primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques carried out in this study were observation and interviews. The date obtained was analyzed descriptively, analysis of variance, average, and to calculate the relationship between variables was analyzed by correlation. Reproductive performance of Bali Cattle inseminated with Brahman Cattle Semen in SECP Program in Kolaka district include; first age AI 23.63±1.99 months, Service per Conception (S/C) 1.56±0.55, gestational age 9.03±0.38 months, Calving Interval (CI) 12.24±0 .52 months, birth weight 27.85 ± 2.96 and the correlation between AI prime age and birth spacing was 0.77.

Calpastatin is one of gene markers affecting meat tenderness. The study aimed to evaluate genetic variation of calpastatin (CAST) gene of Bali cattle (Bos javanicus) in lndonesia. A total of 61 samples consisting of 21 Bali cattle, 22 Ongole cattle (Bos indicus), and 18 Friesian Holstein (FH) cattle (Bos taurus) were applied. The Ongole and FH cattle were involved for breed comparison. DNA was extracted from fresh blood using a High Salt method and measured their quality by a Spectrophotometer. A 523 bp of Calpastatin gene fragment was amplified by Polymerase Chain Reaction and Restriction Fragment Polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) technique with RsaI restriction enzyme for genotyping. Result showed that two variants alleles (C and G) and three genotypes (CC, GC, GG) were found in those Bali, Ongole and FH samples. Allele G was dominant allele with the highest G allele was in Bali cattle population (0.88). The higher percentage of allele C was found in Ongole and Friesian Holstein compared to that in Bali cattle. The Ongole breed tends to have a potential source of lean meat quality. This finding identified that genetic variation of CAST gene was exist in Bali cattle and adapted cattle of Ongole and FH in Indonesian.

Reproductive performance of female cattle is one of the important factors that need to be known in supporting the efficiency of beef cattle breeding programs so that the dam can produce calves every year. This study aimed to evaluate the potential and reproductive performance of female Bali cattle to preparing a baseline for cattle breeding production in SL-SPR Maju Bersama, Sungai Lilin District. Three hundred and thirty female Bali cattle owned by 247 farmers were measured and recorded based on their production and reproduction performance. Data were collected by interview and observation. Data were analyzed using statistical and descriptive methods. Reproductive performance obtained is the age first calving 1098±120 days; calving interval 457,25±8,75 days; days open 109,25±8,57 days and service per conception 5,46±0,42. The average female cattle have a BCS value of 3 (43%). The result showed that the breeding of Bali cattle at SL-SPR had sufficient potential, but it was necessary to improve performance. The basic data obtained can be used to start a breeding business to increase populations and improve the genetic quality of Bali cattle.

(Bali Cattle Reproductive Disorders with Semi Intensive Management in The Area of Cattle - Oil Palm Integration System)The maintenance of Bali cattles in Bengkulu regency with cattle - oil palm integration system (SISKA) has been running several years. The one parameters of the success this program is the reproductive performance of Bali cattle. Bali cattle reproductive performance describe the quality of the maintenance management system that has been done. Bali cattle reproductive performance study has been conducted with reproductive rectal examination and analysis of the data recording breeders and farmer. The main purpose of the reproductive management program was getting the optimal production and maximum benefit. Reproductive efficiency determines the productivity, profitability and sustainability of each farm. The inefficiency reproductive was caused by existence of reproductive disorders. These conditions cause economic losses. The purpose of this study was to determine the condition of reproductive disorders and recovery response. A total of 333 cows Bali females with at least 2 years of age has been reproductive examination. The research methods were done through classification for several stages, anamnesis, clinical examination and reproductive examination by rectally palpation. Treatment of reproductive disorders declared cured if the onset of clinical response in the form of estrus. The data obtained then were recorded and analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of the examination reported that 193 (57.95%) of female Bali cattles experiencing reproductive disorders which include delayed puberty, ovarian hypofunction, metritis, endometritis and postpartum anestrus. While as many as 80 (41.45%) of female Bali cattles were showing signs of estrus. The existence of complex interactions between environmental factors or management (nutrition), individual responses, the type and severity of reproductive disorders were affected of varies healing response from each treatment of reproductive disorders. Keywords: reproductive disorders, bali cattle, oestrus, Bengkulu.

The aim of this research was to know Bali cattle genetic variation according to the band pattern of isoenzyme. Esteraseand Malate dehydrogenase Isoenzymes of Bali cattle were studied. Using the native-PAGE method, the analysis has been made of the genetic structure and variation of the bali cattle population. Isoenzyme isolated from leucocytes cell using homogenation method by adding Phosphat Buffer Saline (PBS). A hundred sample of Bali cattles were taken in Mambang, Slemadeg and Kuwumkeladi. The result of this research indicate that from the 2 different enzyme, 3 loci were detected, and 1 of them was polymorphic (MDH-2). There was null allele phenomenom in MDH-2 locus. The loci polymorphic proportion of three population were 0,333. Chi-Square analysis of three population were 1.251–1.560. The heterozygosity value of three population (Mambang, Slemadeg and Kuwumkeladi) were 0.098, 0.111 and 0.118, respectively.
