Women’s share in the business sector in Malaysia and Indonesia lags behind their male counterpart. However, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) could serve as a game changer to empower women startup and entrepreneurs. The acceptance and usage of Mobile ICT in business operations could empower more women-led Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to grow and fulfill customer needs and wants. However, there is a lack of established models to measure mobile ICT’s role in women MSMEs in these developing countries. Through the review of policy papers and relevant literatures, this study presents a framework to assess the adoption of Mobile ICT in women-led MSMEs factoring cross-border networking. Building upon Social Network Theory and Technology Acceptance Model, this study presents a framework and discusses recommendations for further action to empower women-led MSMEs in both countries by leveraging on cross-border networking capabilities between Indonesian and Malaysian women-led MSMEs. This study highlights the strength of international and cross-border networking among women startup and entrepreneurs where mentoring could happen to empower women startups and entrepreneurs.   Keywords: Mobile ICT usage, women empowerment, MSMEs development, workforce digitization, cross-border entrepreneurship, social network theory, startups.   Cite as: Tanti, D. Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the main drivers of the economy and dominated by the agricultural sector. However, this sector does not show a significant improvement. The main obstacle is the lack of MSME access to financing due to reliable financial reports. Financial Accounting Standards for MSMEs (SAK EMKM) were prepared to address this challenge. This study motivates to determine the perceptions of MSME of agricultural sector towards SAK EMKM. The study is done in Bogor Regency with farmers as the respondens. Descriptive analysis and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by Davis (1989) are combined to explain the perceptions. The results show that SAK EMKM was usefull but did not agree that it was easy to implement. Keywords: UMKM; SAK EMKM; Technology Acceptance Model.

Purpose The study aims is to examine the determinant factors of small and medium enterprises’ (SMEs’) intention to adopt the Islamic crowdfunding model as alternative sources of finance. Design/methodology/approach Using a survey questionnaire, 385 responses were received from owners and managers of SMEs in three states (Kano, Kaduna and Katsina) of northwestern Nigeria and analyses using PLS-SEM 3.0 software. Findings All hypotheses were found to be significant. Research limitations/implications The research focused only on northwestern Nigeria; there is a need for further research to focus on other geographical zones in Nigeria. Practical implications Crowd funders and policymakers can use these findings to enable the adoption of the Islamic crowdfunding model. Originality/value The previous study has not examined the role of technology acceptance model in the adoption of the financial model; these findings contribute to the crowdfunding literature by filling this gap.

Purpose This study aims to analyze the adoption of the people entrepreneurship credit with online platform – a government-sponsored subsidy of small and medium enterprises to reduce poverty and to improve welfare – in the Central Java, Indonesia. The objective of the research is also to analyze the motivation of small and medium enterprises to adopt the credit with online platform in supporting business activities. The research framework used the technology acceptance model – the effect of perception of usefulness, perception of ease of use, subjective norm and four As – availability, affordability, awareness, acceptability and trust – to analyze them as the determinants on the intention to adopt the People Entrepreneurship Credit. Design/methodology/approach The quantitative method with survey was deployed in the study by distributing questionnaires. The number of collected data was 380 credit users, and the criteria used for the respondents were the small entrepreneurs with the use of the people entrepreneurship credit as the micro credit program. Findings Results indicated that perception of usefulness, perception of ease of use, subjective norm, availability, trust and affordability have direct effect on the intention to adopt the credit. Interestingly, the strongest direct effect on the adoption intention was more likely to come from the perception of ease of use. Meanwhile, awareness and acceptability have no direct effect on the intention to adopt. Originality/value This study provides new theoretical insights regarding the implementation of technology acceptance model to analyze the intention to adopt and the analysis of four As concept. The findings of the study will provide a better strategy for banking as service industries in formulating the program of credit access for the entrepreneurs to run the business properly.

International trade has traditionally played an essential role in driving women-centric economic empowerment. Women’s participation as owners or managers has remained consistently low over the years. In India's case, a previous study conducted by UNDP revealed that women entrepreneurs preferred engaging in informal cross-border business as it was less risky with no tax burdens and their discomfort in dealing with male customs officials (UNDP, 2016). One of the critical limitations of active business engagement is socio-economic and cultural restriction, especially at the grassroots level. The case in Arunachal Pradesh is no different, as the concept of entrepreneurship of women in this field is a relatively recent phenomenon. In Arunachal Pradesh, the market is mainly controlled by women, yet women's participation in small and medium enterprises is less in number. In this context, the current paper discusses the nature of women entrepreneurs’ role in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and cross-border trade. It unveils the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in Arunachal Pradesh and along with industrial and policy-related bottlenecks. The discussion is based on the primary data collected from the women-led/managed/owned MSMEs to study the gender dimensions of trade in Arunachal Pradesh. The findings of the study are that women entrepreneurship primarily gravitates around smaller-sized firms, with most women-led enterprises accounting for micro-enterprises in the formal sector. Like elsewhere in Arunachal Pradesh too, there remain socio-economic and cultural restrictions, especially at the grassroots level. The present study has proposed Islamic Crowdfunding-Small and Medium Enterprises (ICSMEs) model to assist SMEs in meeting their need to access external financial services in Malaysia. Upon the proposed model, this study examines the behavioural intention of SMEs to use ICSMEs model. The primary data are collected from the survey administered to SMEs in the Klang Valley (n=250) and the analysis is conducted using Partial Least Squares (SmartPLS). Furthermore, the model has been validated its acceptance in the field by adopting the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This study has revealed that both the perceived usefulness and perceived easy to use are found to have a positive impact on the behavioral intention of SMEs to use ICSMEs model, which later assist them to access to financial services in Malaysia. Furthermore, perceived easy to use has a positive relationship and direct effect with perceived usefulness of SMEs to use the ICSMEs model. The findings of this study can be used to develop a specific framework in which to examine other components of using the ICSMEs model’s behavior and to plan appropriate intervention strategies to increase financial accessibility by SMEs.

Technology adoption plays an important role in competing and creating opportunities in business nowadays. Mobile Banking has changed the way the banking industry and business interact. Mobile Banking is an alternative business strategy for businesses to survive in an increasingly competitive business in today's digital era. This study will focus on adopting Mobile Banking technology and its role to improve the performance of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by adapting the Technology Acceptance Model concept using several indicators from various previous studies which consist of Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Usefulness, Social Norms, Perceived Risk, Relative Advantages, Personal Innovativeness and Cost as indicators. The study involved 278 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Makassar City by using a self-administered questionnaire, which was determined using the Purposive Sampling method. The result shows that simultaneously all indicators of the construct of Technology Acceptance Model had a positive and significant influence on the performance of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Makassar City. Furthermore, partially each indicator shows a positive and significant influence and personal innovativeness is the most dominant indicator in influencing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) performance. The findings of this study are expected to enrich the study related to the topic of Technology Acceptance Model in Mobile Banking and its relationship to improving the performance of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
