Cognitive differentiation was studied in relationship to socio-politico ideology using 105 Swedish university students. Three indices of cognitive differentiation were defined by use of similarity estimates among nine Swedish political parties and Ekman's multidimensional scaling method. Socio-politico ideology was operationalized by asking the subjects to describe themselves as either Radicals, Liberals, or Conservatives. Cross-classification and likelihood ratio analysis disclosed statistically significant relationships between two of the three indices of cognitive differentiation and socio-politico ideology. The results were discussed in terms of three theories and/or hypotheses, authoritarian personality theory, the extremism hypothesis and the context hypothesis. The significant results were congruent with the context hypothesis.

The present study was carried out in December, 2018 and aimed at exploring the “Yellow Vests” movement when the revolts were in full swing. It involved 260 French participants (Mage = 42.9 years, SDage 14.6, Min = 18 to Max = 88). Results confirmed our hypotheses. The people who most identified with the “Yellow Vests” are those who perceive the system to be less fair and more illegitimate, and who express more dissatisfaction with the democratic regime and are generally more politically cynical. They feel more alienated and affirm that they would be more likely to resort to violence in order to introduce a new social order. They adhere more to conspiracy theories. Finally, we found greater identification of the “Yellow Vests” with extreme compared to moderate political parties. We discuss these results from the defence of the moral economy principle.

Antivirus software industry is growing rapidly in the world in 2018. The domestic antivirus software industry must be able to compete on a global scale. To face free trade, Indonesia's antivirus software industry must be able to know its position in the minds of consumers, especially domestic consumers. In this research, Smadav will represent the antivirus software industry from Indonesia. In this research want to know how the position of smadav compared with its current competitors, namely Avast, Avira, AVG, Kaspersky, McAfee and Norton. This research is only done to map antivirus software based on similarity according to respondent's perception. This research uses Multidimensional scaling (MDS) method through SPSS software program version 23. The results showed that there are three groups of different antivirus software based on similarity level according to the respondent's perception. On the two-dimensional and three-dimensional maps Norton antivirus software, Avast and Avira have similar resemblance according to the respondent's perception, because the location is closest and is in the same quadrant. Smadav differs according to perceptions of respondents. AVG, McAfee and Kaspersky have similarities according to respondents' perceptions.

In this paper, we presented for the first time a multidimensional scaling approach to find the scaling as well as the ranking of triangular fuzzy numbers. Each fuzzy number was represented by a row in a matrix, and then found the configuration points (scale points) which represent the fuzzy numbers in . Since these points are not uniquely determined, then we presented different techniques to reconfigure the points to compare them with other methods. The results showed the ability of ranking fuzzy numbers

Successive intervals scaling and equal intervals scaling as a preliminary step to multidimensional scaling analysis were compared. The effects of an exponential transformation on the resultant structure were also investigated. For judgments involving similarity of electronics job tasks, neither scaling method nor exponential transformation seemed to affect the emergent structure to any great extent.

In an exploratory study of the construct validity of Guglielmino's Self-directed Learning Readiness Scale, 41 graduate students in education were administered the following criterion measures: Sounds and Images (Originality), Thinking Creatively About the Future (Fluency and Originality), Schaefer's Simile Test (Originality), Templeton's Photoanalogies Test, Gershon and Guilford's Possible Jobs test, Khatena and Torrance's What Kind of Person Are You? and Something About Myself, and Torrance's Style of Learning and Thinking test, Product-moment coefficients of correlation between the total Self-directed Learning Readiness Scale scores and the criterion measures supported the construct validity of the Self-directed Learning Readiness Scale with statistically significant relationships for all three of the originality measures ( rs = .52, .38, and .52), the measure of ability to produce analogies ( r = .48), creative achievements and experiences ( r = .71), and the right and left hemisphere styles of learning ( rs = .43 and —.34, respectively).
