AbstractA new species of parasitic nematode, Rhabdochona (Rhabdochona) keralaensis sp. nov., is described based on specimens recovered from the intestine of Anguilla bengalensis bengalensis (Gray) collected from the freshwater bodies of Kerala State, southern India. It is characterized mainly by the presence of ten anterior prostomal teeth, absence of basal teeth, simple deirids, length of spicules, number and arrangement of preanal papillae and non-filamented eggs. Two species of camallanid nematodes, adults of Camallanus cotti Fujita, 1927 and a single Procamallanus (Spirocamallanus) sp. fourth-stage larva, were also recorded from A. bengalensis. Camallanus cotti, a pathogenic parasite of many species of wild and aquarium-reared fishes in many countries of South and East Asia, Europe, South and North America, West Indies and Australia, is reported for the first time from a representative of the fish family Anguillidae. Descriptions of R. (R.) keralaensis and Indian specimens of C. cotti, based on light and scanning electron microscopical examinations, are provided. Camallanus oxygasterae Gupta et Bakshi, 1983 is considered a junior synonym of C. cotti.

AbstractTwo little-known nematode species of the family Camallanidae, intestinal parasites of marine perciform fishes, are reported from off New Caledonia: Procamallanus (Procamallanus) annulatus Yamaguti, 1955 from the goldenlined spinefoot Siganus lineatus (Valenciennes) (Siganidae) and Procamallanus (Spirocamallanus) monotaxis (Olsen, 1952) from the longspine emperor Lethrinus genivittatus Valenciennes and the slender emperor Lethrinus variegatus Valenciennes (both Lethrinidae). Detailed light and electron microscopical studies (the latter used for the first time in these species) revealed some taxonomically important, previously not observed features, such as the presence of deirids, six crescent-shaped elevations surrounding the mouth, three poorly developed protuberances on the female tail tip and circumcloacal papillae and phasmids on the male tail in P. annulatus, and the presence of a circumoral flange, only 12 (instead of 14 reported) cephalic papillae, the shape of deirids and similar numbers (14–17 and 14–15) of spiral ridges in the male and female buccal capsules in P. monotaxis. The fourth-stage larva of P. annulatus is described for the first time. Firststage larvae of both species were found to possess several digital processes at the tail tip. The present findings represent new host and geographical records of these parasite species.

Aquatic and semi-aquatic Heteroptera from lentic and lotic freshwater bodies were surveyed from all the districts of Meghalaya. Tenagogonus aruli sp. nov. (Gerromorpha: Gerridae) is described and can be identified by the presence of a very long connexival process in the female, medium sized connexival process in the male, an irregular longitudinal black stripe on the sublateral region of the abdominal sternum in the apterous form, and a median longitudinal depression on the eighth abdominal sternum of the male. In addition, eight species of the infraorders Nepomorpha and Gerromorpha are recorded for the first time from India: Ranatra libera Zettel, 1999, Hydrometra jaczewskii Lundblad, 1933, H. longicapitis Torre-Bueno, 1927, Strongylovelia balteiformis Ye, Chen & Bu, 2015, S. hainanensis Ye, Chen & Bu, 2015, Gerris (Gerris) lobatus Andersen & Chen, 1993, Tenagogonus kuiterti Hungerford & Matsuda, 1958, and Rheumatogonus vietnamensis Zettel & Chen, 1996. Detailed illustrations of the new species and habitus images and distribution maps of all the species recorded for the first time from India are provided.

A new species of Tyrannomyrmex (Hymenoptera, Formicidae), T. alii sp. nov., is described from the Western Ghats of Kerala State in southern India. This new species can be distinguished from other Tyrannomyrmex species using morphological characters, from T.dux by the petiolar shape, and from T. legatus and T.rex by surface sculpture and pilosity. The gyne of the genus is described for the first time. We provide detailed morphological descriptions of the gyne and worker castes, images from scanning electron microscopy, a key to all four known species of Tyrannomyrmex, and a note on the ecology of this rare genus.

Ramalina sekika Asahina is reported for the first time from Russia from Sakhalin. It refers to the number of rare and poorly investigated species of the genus. Until now it was considered to be endemic to northeastern China. The original description and the location in the Far East are given, as well as the data on anatomical and morphological study of the Russian specimen. The differences in the anatomical structure of its thallus are discussed. A comparison of anatomical and morphological characters of R. sekika, R. pollinaria (Westr.) Ach. (European material), R. yasudae Räsänen has been made; the author considers them as independent species.

The small Microgastrinae genus Venanides is recorded from Europe (Netherlands, Germany and Czech Republic) for the first time, where one species, Venanides carcinae sp. nov., described here, proves to be a regular solitary parasitoid of Carcina quercana. Outline notes on its biology, phenology and abundance are given.

The oribatid mite subgenus Scheloribates (Topobates) Grandjean, 1958, is recorded from the Neotropical region for the first time. A new species of this subgenus is described from the leaf litter collected in Cayo Agua Island, Panama. Scheloribates (Topobates) panamaensis sp. nov. differs from its related species by the very large body size and presence of a strong ventrodistal process on the leg femora II–IV.

The Palaearctic species of the genus Trichardis Hermann, 1906 are reviewed. A new species, T. lehri sp. nov., is described. A new synonymy is established: T. leucocoma (van der Wulp, 1899) = T. afanasievae Lehr, 1964, syn. nov. The male of T. mongolica V. Richter, 1972 is described for the first time. External features and the male genitalia of T. lehri sp. nov., T. leucocoma (van der Wulp, 1899) and T. mongolica V. Richter, 1972 are illustrated with photographs.

A review of species of the genus Blera Billberg, 1820 known from China is given. A new species, Blera longiseta sp. nov., is described. Three species, B. japonica (Shiraki, 1930), B. nitens (Stackelberg, 1923) and B. violovitshi Mutin, 1991, are recorded for the first time from China. An illustrated key to species is provided.

Two braconid genera from the subfamily Alysiinae, Lodbrokia Hedqvist, 1962 and Asyntactus Marshall, 1898, are recorded in the fauna of Russia and in the Asian continent for the first time. A new species Lodbrokia uralica sp. nov. is described from the Urals, and a key to species of this genus is provided. Redescriptions of the female and male of Asyntactus rhogaleus Marshall, 1898 with information about the level of variability of its morphological characters are given. Asyntactus sigalphoides Marshall, 1898 is synonymised with A. rhogaleus Marshall, 1898 (syn. nov.).

The genus Systenus Loew, 1857 is recorded from Afrotropical Region for the first time. A description of a new species, Systenus africanus Grichanov sp. nov., and notes on females of another probably new Afrotropical species are provided. The genus is considered now as cosmopolitan. A key to species and species groups of the Systenus worldwide is compiled.
