Two new species of the family Leptochitonidae, Leptochiton pumilus sp. nov. and Terenochiton nomurai sp. nov. are described from the tropical and subtropical shallow waters of the West Pacific. L. pumilus from the Philippines and Papua New Guinea has a net-like sculpture on the shell which is rather rare feature in the genus. In this genus, so far only three species have hitherto been known in the tropical shallow waters, in contrast to more than 130 other extant species which are living in the deep cold waters and high latitudes. T. nomurai from Ryukyu Islands is the second representative of the genus Terenochiton Iredale, 1914 which was recently reinstated for Leptochiton norfolcensis (Hedley et Hull, 1912), and is characterized by having rudiments of the insertion plates in all valves. T. nomurai closely resembles the type species, but differs in the arrangement of the aesthete pores on the granules of the tegmentum, and less developed rudiments of the insertion plates. L. pumilus c Филиппин и Папуа – Новой Гвинеи имеет сетчатовидную скульптуру на раковине, что является довольно редким признаком в этом роде. В этом роде только три вида известны до настоящего времени в тропических мелководьях, в противоположность более чем 130 другим современным видам, которые живут в глубоких холодных водах и в высоких широтах. T. nomurai из островов Рюкю является вторым представителем рода Terenochiton Iredale, 1914, который был недавно восстановлен для Leptochiton norfolcensis (Hedley et Hull, 1912) и характеризуется наличием рудиментов инсерционных пластинок на всех щитках. T. nomurai сходен с типовым видом рода, но отличается расположением пор эстетов на зернах тегментума и менее развитыми рудиментами инсерционных пластинок. Three new Indo-West Pacific species of pinnotherid crabs are described, one each of Arcotheres, Buergeres and Nepinnotheres. Arcotheres pollus, described from Paway Island, Mergui Archipelago, is most similar to A. boninensis (Stimpson, 1858), A. pernicola (Bürger, 1895) and A. purpureus (Alcock, 1900), sharing a transversely ovate carapace and long, slender, almost styliform dactyli of P4 and 5 that are about twice the length of those of P2 and 3. Buergeres choprai, described from Papua New Guinea, is most similar to B. deccanesis (Chopra, 1931) from eastern India but differentiated by segment proportions and setation of the walking legs. Buergeres tenuipes (Bürger, 1895) is synonymised with B. ortmanni (Bürger, 1895), which is also reported for the first time from Indonesia. A male of an undetermined species of Buergeres from the Philippines, possibly B. ortmanni, is figured and described, documenting the gonopod morphology in Buergeres for the first time. A key to the species of Buergeres based on females is provided. Nepinnotheres fulvia sp. nov. is also described from Papua New Guinea, and resembles N. cardii (Bürger, 1895) from the Philippines and Malaysia but can be distinguished by features of the chelipeds and maxilliped 3.

Left-eyed flounders of the genus Chascanopsetta Alcock 1894 (Bothidae) occur in the Indian, Pacific, and Atlantic oceans at depths ranging from 120 to 1500 meters. They possess some unique features in bothid fishes including a strongly compressed and elongated body and a tremendously large mouth. Currently, nine species of Chascanopsetta are recognized, and three of them (C. micrognatha Amaoka & Yamamoto 1984, C. lugubris Alcock 1894 and C. prognatha Norman 1939) are distributed in the West Pacific. We collected 25 specimens of Chascanopsetta during 11 biodiversity expeditions carried out mainly in the West Pacific. Among them, eight specimens taken off Papua New Guinea present morphological features that differ from those of the three nominal species known in the West Pacific. In this study, we examined these eight specimens of unknown affinity and compared their morphology to that of specimens of other congeneric species. Results of these comparisons showed that these specimens represent an undescribed species of Chascanopsetta, named herein, C. novaeguineae sp. nov.. The new species resembles C. elski Foroshchuk 1991, which is known only from the Saya de Malha Bank in the western Indian Ocean, in having a high number of gill rakers (> 13). However, the combination of the following characters further distinguishes C. novaeguineae sp. nov. from C. elski: longer jaws, narrower interorbital width, and number of pseudobranches (21–25 vs. 26–27). The DNA sequences from the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) gene from C. novaeguineae sp. nov. and other species were obtained and compared to confirm its taxonomic status and to infer its tentative phylogenetic position within the Chascanopsetta.

The genus Cancricepon Giard & Bonnier, 1887 is recorded for the first time from Australia, the Maldives, Papua New Guinea and Taiwan. Four species of Cancricepon are reported here, and two are new to science. Cancricepon choprae (Nierstrasz & Brender à Brandis, 1925) is reported from the Gulf of Mexico on the Florida coast, infesting a new host, Micropanope cf. sculptipes Stimpson, 1871. Cancricepon castroi n. sp. is described from Australia, the Maldives, Japan and Papua New Guinea parasitizing coral crabs of the family Trapeziidae. Cancricepon cf. multituberosum An, Yu & Williams, 2012 is recorded from a specimen of Leptodius affinis (De Haan, 1835) from Taiwan. Specimens previously misidentified as C. choprae parasitizing Scalopidia spinosipes Stimpson, 1858, from China are described as C. beibusinus n. sp. All known hosts and localities of species of Cancricepon are summarized, and a key to the species in the genus is provided. The similarities between species of Cancricepon and the type species of Trapezicepon Bonnier, 1900, are discussed and Trapezicepon thalamitae Markham, 1985, is transferred to Scyracepon Tattersall, 1905.

Megaxenus Lawence, gen. nov., includes one speciesfrom North Queensland (M. Termitophilus Lawence, sp. nov.) and two from Papua New Guinea (M. bioculatus Lawence, sp. nov. and M. papuensis Lawence, sp. nov.). All three are found in the nests of Microcerotermes species and are the first known termitophiles in the family Aderidae. Notes on the behaviour and life history demonstrate that the larvae are integrated into the termite society, and are incorporated into the trophallactic feeding behaviour of termites, while the adults are actively persecuted by the termites but survive at the edges of the nest because of the webs constructed by the larvae prior to pupation.

Two new species of the genus Fulvius Stål are described from the Philippines and Papua New Guinea. A taxonomic review of representatives of the F.bifenestratus species group, illustrations of the male genitalia, a color habitus image of each species, and a key to species of the group are provided.

Five species of the genus Polyonyx Stimpson, 1858 are reported from southern Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, and Peninsular Malaysia. All of them belong to the P. sinensis group, which is morphologically defined by having the dactyli of the ambulatory legs each with the dorsal claw being much smaller than the ventral claw. Two species are described as new to science, one each from Peninsular Malaysia and the Ryukyu Islands in Japan, and their affinities are discussed. Polyonyx boucheti Osawa, 2007, P. heok Osawa & Ng, 2016, and P. thai Werding, 2001, are also newly reported from southern Japan, the Philippines, and Singapore. A key to the Indo-West Pacific species of the P. sinensis group is provided.

The inachid spider crab genus Pleisticanthoides Yokoya, 1933, is revalidated and removed from the synonymy ofPleistacantha Miers, 1879, distinguished by the absence of strong spines on the carapace (with only spinules or setae),unarmed pereiopods (with only stiff setae along margins and not spines), possession of a relatively longer, more slenderocular peduncle with a smaller cornea, slender adult male chelae, and a gently curved male first gonopod which has thedistal part dorsoventrally flattened and without a subdistal process. Three species are recognised from the Indo-WestPacific region: Pleisticanthoides simplex (Rathbun, 1932) (= Pleisticanthoides nipponensis Yokoya, 1933) from Japan, P. cameroni n. sp. from the Philippines, and P. piccardorum n. sp. from Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea.

A new genus, Hoyicoccus Williams & Kozár gen. n., and two new species, Hoyicoccus hendersonae Kozár & Williams and Eriococcus szentivanyi Kozár & Williams are described from Sabah, Malaysia. In addition, the genus Sangicoccus Reyne is discussed: Sangicoccus truncatispinus (Reyne) is redescribed and two new species, namely Sangicoccus morrisoni Kozár & Konczné Benedicty and Sangicoccus reynei Kozár & Konczné Benedicty, are described. Sangicoccus is now known off palms from Irian Jaya and Sulawesi in Indonesia, and from the Philippines and Papua New Guinea. A key is provided for the separation of the known species of Sangicoccus.
