In the middle of the 1990s the European Environment Agency (EEA) started to develop a data collecting system for surface and subsurface water resources for assessing pressures, states and impacts on European water resources. The main objective of this system was to provide reliable, comparable, homogenous information, and support integrated environmental assessments at European level. The data collecting system for water is called Eurowaternet. The extent and information content of the network makes not only pan-European, but also regional or thematic environmental assessments possible. An extensive programme started in 1997 to support the Phare countries in their accession to the EU with implementation of this data collecting system in their countries. The paper briefly introduces the methodology of the system, but it focuses more on the application of the system in the accession countries, highlighting, through examples, the usefulness of the implemented network and assembled database. The examples present - among several other possible ones - trends of average nutrient concentrations; relationships between catchment size and annual average nutrient concentrations; relationships between catchment size and agricultural usage.

Between October 24 and 25 in 2015, Mexico faced the strongest hurricane ever registered in the Western Hemisphere, which reached a record of 200 mph (325 km/h) of maximum sustained winds. In spite of pessimist predictions about the final outcome of this natural disaster, at the end, it degraded itself into a tropical storm when landing in the Mexican state of Jalisco. The present research stands in a data collecting process from social media during two moments: a) throughout the happening and b) after the incident. It collected not only information and comments generated in federal and local governmental public profiles but in civil organizations and private user profiles as well. This paper describes how social media helped not only to socialize public information in order to prevent danger but it also served as a link between governmental dependencies and civil society to support affected communities after the event.

With the acceleration of the construction of smart city in China, the construction of a smart community that acts as the last mile of a smart city is highly valued. Development of smart community service integrated management platform is to utilize intelligent equipment and software platform, to build an information platform for information sharing, service integration, and resource optimization, and to ultimately realize intelligent management and innovative services within the community. In this article, we propose the overall framework and application system of the intelligent community integrated service platform, providing a strong theoretical basis for the construction of smart communities at this stage, and carry out detailed analysis and design of the underlying infrastructure, supporting platform and basic database of the platform.

Abstract: Introduction: The continuous monitoring of quality indicators in gastrointestinal endoscopy has become an essential requirement nowadays. Most of these data cannot be extracted from the currently used free text reports, therefore a structured web-based data-collecting system was developed to record the indicators of pancreatobiliary endoscopy. Aim: A structured data-collecting system, the ERCP Registry, was initiated to monitor endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) examinations prospectively, and to verify its usability. Method: From January 2017, all ERCPs performed at the First Department of Medicine, University of Pécs, have been registered in the database. In the first year, the detailed data of 595 examinations were entered into the registry. After processing these data, the testing period of the registry is now finished. Results: On 447 patients, 595 ERCPs were performed. The success rate of cannulation is 93.8% if all cases are considered. Difficult biliary access was noted in 32.1% of patients with native papilla, and successful cannulation was achieved in 81.0% of these cases during the first procedure. Post-ERCP pancreatitis was observed in 13 cases (2.2%), clinically significant post-papillotomy bleeding was registered in 2 cases (0.3%), while 27 patients (4.5%) developed temporary hypoxia during the procedure. 30-day follow-up was successful in 75.5% of the cases to detect late complications. All of the quality indicators determined by the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) were possible to monitor with the help of the registry. Our center already complies with most of these criteria. Conclusions: Continuous monitoring of the quality indicators of endoscopic interventions are not supported by the current hospital information system but it became possible with our registry. The ERCP Registry is a suitable tool to detect the quality of patient care and also useful for clinical research.
