Integrated Management of Childhood Illness is one of the strategies in health care services for infants and children under five at primary health care facilities. Children with fever in high malaria endemic areas must have a blood test done to check whether the children have malaria or not. IMCI is one of the interventions recommended by WHO to screen and also ensure that children receive proper initial treatment at first-level health facilities. This article aims to discuss the quality of care for children under five with malaria using IMCI approach. This is a systematic review by searching 4 databases including Scopus, Web of Science, SAGE and Proquest. Health care services for children under five with an integrated management of childhood illness are intended to provide immediate and appropriate treatment. The guideline for treating children under five with malaria using IMCI approach is very helpful for nurses both in assessing, classifying, treating/curing and making decisions for pre-referral measures for severe cases. Several factors to support quality of care are trained officers, supervision and procurement of essential medicines, RDT and malaria microscopy. Enforcement of the right diagnosis will improve the quality of life of children and prevent death in children under five. Keywords: IMCI, Malaria, Children under five

Abstract Background: Large inequalities in child health remain in Nepal, with caste, ethnicity and sex being major determinants of deprivation and negative outcomes. The purpose of this study was to explore whether key demographics on under 5s were associated with health seeking behaviours, utilisation of health care, and treatment received.Methods: Data came from Integrated Management of Neonatal & Childhood Illness (IMNCI) records of 23 health centres across five districts. After digitising the paper records, district, ethnicity, sex, age and temperature of the child were used to predict the number of days taken to seek medical care for Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI), diarrhoea and fever. In addition to this, correct diagnosis and subsequent treatment of pneumonia was assessed against IMNCI guidelines, again using the demographic factors of interest to predict these outcomes.Results: From 116 register books spanning 23 health centres, 33,860 child patient records were considered for analysis. The median age of attendance was 16 months (Inter-Quartile Range= 9, 30), while there were more male children that attended (55.8% vs. 44.2% for females). There were statistically significant differences for the time taken to attend a health centre between different districts for ARI, diarrhoea and fever, with children in the remote Humla and Mugu districts taking significantly longer to present at a health facility after the onset of symptoms (all p<0.012). Children from underprivileged ethnic groups, Madhesi and Dalit, were less likely to be given a correct diagnosis of pneumonia (p=0.001), while males were more likely to receive a correct diagnosis than females (73% vs. 67%, p=0.001). This sex difference remained in the adjusted regression models for diagnosis of pneumonia (p=0.011) but not for treatment of pneumonia (p=0.202).Conclusions: Significant demographic differences were found based on ethnicity, sex, and district when examining health seeking behaviours for ARI, diarrhoea, and fever. Significant associations were seen for these same factors when exploring accuracy of diagnoses of pneumonia, but not for treatment. This study has emphasised the importance of a digitalised healthcare system, where inequalities can be identified without the reliance on anecdotal evidence.

Abstract Background India has a dual burden of tuberculosis (TB) and diabetes mellitus (DM). Integrated care for TB/DM is still in the early phase in the country and can be considerably enhanced by understanding and addressing the challenges identified from stakeholders’ perspectives. This study explored the challenges and opportunities at individual, health system and policy level for integrated care of TB/DM comorbidities in India. Methods We used an outlier case study approach and conducted stakeholder interviews and focus group discussions with relevant program personnel including field staff and program managers of TB and DM control programs as well as officials of partners in Indian states, Kerala and Bihar. Results The integrated management requires strengthening the laboratory diagnosis and drug management components of the two individual programs for TB and DM. Focused training and sensitization of healthcare workers in public and private sector across all levels is essential. A district level management unit that coordinates the two vertical programs with a horizontal integration at the primary care level is the way forward. Substantial improvement in data infrastructure is essential to improve decision-making process. Conclusion Bi-directional screening and management of TB/DM comorbidities in India requires substantial investment in human resources, infrastructure, drug availability, and data infrastructure.

Odorant-binding proteins (OBPs) play a key role in the olfactory system and are essential for mating and oviposition host selection. Tirathaba rufivena, a serious lepidopterous insect pest of the palm area in recent years, has threatened cultivations of Areca catechu in Hainan. Female-biased odorant-binding protein 4 of T. rufivena (TrufOBP4) expression was hypothesized to participate in the process of oviposition host recognition and localization. In this study, we cloned and analyzed the cDNA sequence of TrufOBP4. The predicted mature protein TrufOBP4 is a small, soluble, secretory protein and belongs to a classic OBP subfamily. Fluorescence binding assay results showed that TrufOBP4 had high binding abilities with the host plant volatiles, octyl methoxycinnamate, dibutyl phthalate, myristic acid and palmitic acid. These four components tend to dock in the same binding pocket based on the molecular docking result. The interactions and contributions of key amino acid residues were also characterized. This research provides evidence that TrufOBP4 might participate in the chemoreception of volatile compounds from inflorescences of A. catechu and can contribute to the integrated management of T. rufivena.

Improving maternal and child survival it’s an important integral part of health care. A large number of deaths in Africa emanate from preventable diseases and largely in the first month of life. Majority of deaths were from preventable causes such as pneumonia, diarrhea and malaria and all accounting to 14.9%, 9.2% and 7.3% respectively. In an endeavour to the prevent and promote healthcare system, the government of Botswana came up with a special programme geared toward protecting the locals against common diseases. The government of Botswana, through the Ministry of Health (MoH), introduced the Accelerated Child Survival and Development (ACSD) strategic plan intervention with a specific focus on reducing the ‘under five mortality rate’ (U5MR). One of the high-impact interventions for reducing the U5MR is the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) strategy. The strategic goal of IMCI is to reduce death, illness, and disability and to promote improved growth and development among children under 5 years of age. Child welfare clinic and Nutrition has been discovered as one of the strategy to promote child’s growth and development. This strategy can be effective if it is implemented with IMCI and Immunisation.

The pink bollworm, Pectinophora gossypiella, has become a significant production constraint on Bt cotton in India. This problem is unique to India because the pest has developed multi-fold resistance to Cry toxins in many Indian populations but not in other countries. Most Indian populations have developed multifold resistance to Cry 1 Ac and Cry 1Ac + Cry 2 Ab toxins. Year-round cultivation of long-duration Bt cotton hybrids on a large scale has a pronounced impact on the incidence. Also discussed other factors responsible for the occurrence of pink bollworm on Bt cotton in India. Insecticide Resistance Management (IRM) strategies implemented by different cotton-growing countries globally; the USA, India, and China had a significant impact on the interaction of pink bollworm on Bt cotton. Huge selection pressure resulted in resistance to Cry toxins. Time-tested IPM, if implemented on a community basis focusing on pheromones technology and closed season, will help sustain the cotton cultivation in India in the future. Thus, this review aims to congregate exhaustive information on the history, biology, resistance to Bt cotton, and Integrated Management (IPM) options for the Indian scenario, which would help researchers in their future endeavors.

Vine weevil, also known as black vine weevil, Otiorhynchus sulcatus, has been one of the most economically important pest species of global horticultural crops for the past five decades. This period has seen many changes in crop protection practices, including wide-scale adoption of biological controls such as entomopathogenic nematodes and fungi in place of conventional synthetic insecticides. Despite the experimental efficacy of these controls, growers continue to report significant crop losses associated with vine weevil infestation. We argue that simply switching from synthetic insecticides to biological controls, rather than using these controls as part of an integrated management program, is a key factor in the continued importance of this pest. An improved understanding of vine weevil biology and ecology is at the center of the development of truly integrated pest management programs. To this end, we identify opportunities created through recent vine weevil research and highlight key knowledge gaps in which further research may contribute to improved future management approaches.

With the acceleration of the informatization process, but because of the late start of the informatization construction of logistics management, the current digital system construction of logistics management has not been popularized, and the intelligent logistics integrated management evaluation system is also extremely lacking. In order to solve the lack of existing intelligent logistics comprehensive management evaluation system, this paper introduces the research of intelligent logistics comprehensive management evaluation system based on hospital data fusion technology. This paper analyzes and utilizes the Kalman filter and adaptive weighted data fusion technology in data fusion technology and then analyzes the evaluation index and system design principles of the intelligent logistics comprehensive management evaluation system and then designs the application layer from the application layer. Design the application layer from the application layer. Then design the framework of the intelligent logistics comprehensive management evaluation system at the network layer and the data layer. The system is finally tested, and the test results show that the evaluation accuracy of the system reaches 80%.
