Abstract An optimum experimental condition, which realize good surface roughness in cross direction both contour and scanning lines, for radius end mill against some inclined surfaces is obtained and some features is these cutting processes is discussed in this paper. The optimum experimental condition, which consists of cutting type (or feed direction), spindle speed, feed rate, depth of immersion, inclination angle, corner radius of end mill and cross feed, is obtained and the influence degree of these parameters is calculated by using Taguchi method. The experiment is carried out based on L18 orthogonal array. Based on the influence degree and geometric contact status due to unique shape of radius end mill, some feature of radius end milling is introduced. As a result of the contour line machining, a scallop height is very influenced by the inclination angle and the corner radius, and surface machined by bottom edge must not be remained. Regarding the scanning line machining, “go-up” is good for the feed direction. Big corner radius is also suitable because side edge does not contact to workpiece. In other words, the cutting force in radial direction becomes small. Furthermore, the surface roughness of the scanning line machining is smaller than the one of the contour line machining.

Agriculture of the Northern regions specializes in animal husbandry, in this regard an urgent problem of crop production in the conditions of the Northern regions of the Russian Federation is the creation of precocious, high-yielding varieties of grain crops for fodder purposes. The article reflects the selection achievements in grain crops over the past seven years. The presented new varieties combine high yield, increased environmental plasticity, and have the ability to reduce their productivity to a lesser extent when cultivated in the harsh conditions of the Northern region. Breeding work conducted at the laboratory of crop production of the Primorskiy filial FGBUN FICKIA RAN - ArhNIISKH in 2005-2019, in breeding semipolar rotation in accordance with the "Guidelines on the selection of barley and oats" (2014), methodology of State Commission for testing of agricultural crops (1985). The digestibility of winter rye dry matter was determined by in vitro method on an artificial stomach. Statistical processing of experimental results was performed using the AGROS version 2.07 selection and genetic software package. Results of the study. As a result of selection work, precocious productive varieties of grain crops of the feed direction were bred and included in the state register. Bereginya — new-generation winter rye variety, universal use, with a low content of water-soluble pentosans in the grain. The variety has been included in the State register of selection achievements since 2013. Variety of spring barley Tausen — feed direction, resistant to environmental stress factors, high-yielding, resistant to lodging and pathogens (dusty smut, spotting). It has been included in the State register of selection achievements since 2014. Spring barley variety Kotlassky — feed direction precocious, productive, adaptive to adverse environmental factors, for obtaining concentrated feed for livestock and poultry. It has been included in the State register of breeding achievements since 2019. Arhan spring oat variety — environmentally plastic adapted to changes in soil and climate conditions, immune to dusty smut, combines a high yield of grain and green mass. Since 2020, it has been included in the State register of selection achievements.

In this paper, cutting mechanism and cutting performance of ball end mill for spherical surface with contour path method is investigated. Ball end mills are used to produce molds, dies and so on. However, the edge shape is complex, so cutting process is not clear. Then, it is not clear effectively using method of the tool based on good cutting performance. Therefore, in this study, the purpose is proposal of high efficient and high accurate cutting method is using 5-axis control machine tool. At first, cutting model assembled by a ball end mill (R8 mm) and a workpiece with convex or concave spherical surface (Workpiece radius 20 mm) is carried out using 3D-CAD (SolidWorks). The pick feed direction which is from bottom to top is defined “Stepped up”, the one which is inverse direction is defined “Stepped down”. In addition, both cutting methods include up milling and down milling, then there are four cutting modes. The radius of tool path for contour path are varied from 14.0 mm to 19.4 mm for convex spherical surface, from 6.5 to 9.2 mm for concave spherical surface. The lead angle of the tool is defined the plus sign when the tool is inclined to the tool feed direction and varied from-45° to 45°. Secondly, the cutting cross-sectional area is calculated by the interference of a rake surface of the tool and an uncut chip volume which can be removed by one cutting operation. Thirdly, cutting experiments are done in order to measure cutting force. Finally, analytical and experimental results are discussed, and then the cutting conditions which are expected good cutting performance are considered.

The influence of tool feed conditions on the burnished-surface integrity obtained by roller burnishing, which can generate the sliding effect, adding to the rolling effect at burnishing point, is addressed. A JIS SCM420 steel round bar was used as the workpiece. The surface integrity was improved by feeding the roller in the same direction with the sliding effect and by decreasing the tool feed rate. A better surface was achieved when the roller was fed in the opposite direction to the feed direction of the turning tool in a preceding process of the burnishing.

We propose a reconfigurable parts feeding system (RPFS) consisting of a large number of vibrators, each consisting of a vertical exciter having a piezoelectric element used as a drive source and a plate installed on the vertical exciter. The plate freely chooses a specific feed direction (forward and turn) by adjusting the thickness of the plate and the position of an elastic hinge. The RPSF features: (1) a variety of feed paths freely formed by adjusting plates on vertical exciters, and (2) positional adjustment for plates on vertical exciters automated using a robot to reduce time and cost. We analyzed the vibration of plates based on vibration modes of plates based on FEM analysis. Basic RPFS performance was evaluated in 3 feeding experiments, i.e., along an I-shaped feed path, along a U-shaped feed path, and with a feeding object larger than each plate, using an experimental RPFS.
