In this study, a new series consisting of 12 heteroaryl chalcone derivatives of 1,3,5-trimethoxybenzene were synthesised. Chalcones were synthesised in high purity and efficiency, via condensation of mono, bis and tris 2,4,6-trimethoxy acetophenones with hetero-2-carbaldehyde derivatives based on Claisen Schdmit condensation. The reactions feature a good scope for the all products, mild reaction conditions and good yields. The synthesized compounds were characterized by using FT-IR, NMR and elemental analysis spectroscopic techniques.

A novel one-pot method for the synthesis of substituted μ-oxo-bis [tetraphenyl porphyrinatoiron] compounds ([TRPPFe]2O) from pyrrole and aromatic aldehydes was proposed and investigated in this paper. Four kinds of [TRPPFe]2O were designed and synthesized by one-pot reaction and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. Moreover, the [TRPPFe]2O yields of 18.7~22.4% could be obtained with this novel method under the optimum reaction conditions.

Synthesis and characterization of some new Schiff base ligands derived from various diamines and nitrosalicylaldehyde and their complexes of Ni(II) and Cu(II) are reported. Several spectral techniques such as UV-Vis, FT-IR, and NMR spectra were used to identify the chemical structures of the reported ligands and their complexes. The ligands are found to be bound to the metal atom through the oxygen atoms of the hydroxyl groups and nitrogen atoms of imine groups, which is also supported by spectroscopic techniques. The results obtained by FT-IR and NMR showed that the Schiff base complexes of transition metal (II) have square-planar geometry.

The synthesis of tetra and octa perfluoroalkyl substituted zinc and metal free phthalocyanines ( ZnPc and H 2 Pc ) are reported. The compounds 1–5 have been prepared by nucleophilic substitution of 4-nitrophthalonitrile with 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorooctanethiol, 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorodecan-1-ol, 1H,1H-perfluorodecan-1-ol, 1H,1H-perfluorotetradecan-1-ol and 1H,1H-perfluoro-3,6,9-trioxatridecan-1-ol, respectively. The compounds 6–8 have been prepared by the reaction of 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorodecan-1-ol, 1H,1H-perfluorodecan-1-ol and 1H,1H-perfluoro-3,6,9-trioxatridecan-1-ol with 4,5-dichlororphthalonitrile, respectively. The compound 9 with thia-bridge has been synthesized from 4,5-dichlororphthalonitrile. Zinc and metal free phthalocyanines were obtained from the corresponding phthalonitrile derivatives. All compounds were characterized by using mass, 1 H , 19 F NMR, UV-vis and FT-IR as well as elemental analysis. Tetra substituted Zn ( II ) phthalocyanines are slightly soluble only in THF (Compound 4a and 7a are insoluble) but metal free phthalocyanines are not soluble. Octa substituted Zn ( II ) and metal free phthalocyanine are soluble in polar solvents such as THF and DMSO.

An efficient protocol for the synthesis of imidazo [1,2-a] pyrimidine was developed by using three component one-pot Biginelli synthesis. The synthesized compounds were characterized by spectroscopic techniques like FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and mass spectroscopy.

The reaction of CpTi(CO)2 (1), Cp2TiCl (2), and Cp2TiCl2 (3) (Cp = η5-C5H5) with purine (PuH) and adenine (AdH) in organic solvents is described. The compound 1 reacts with both molecules in an oxidative fashion giving Cp2Ti(C5H3N4)(C5H4N4) (4) and (Cp2Ti)2(C5H3N5) (5) with concomitant liberation of molecular carbon monoxide and hydrogen (4:1) following a first order rate law in metal complex. The compound 2 forms an adduct compound Cp2TiCl(C5H4N4) (6) with PuH. Monosubstituted derivatives Cp2TiCl(C5H3N4) (7) and Cp2TiCl(C5H4N5) (8) are formed from the reaction of the deprotonated bases with 3. In addition to the usual elemental analysis, the characteristic ir, 1H nmr, epr, and ms results are given for the new compounds.

AbstractIn this work, a new macrocyclic copper complex, [Cu(ACE)(SCN)2]; ACE: 1,3,6,10,12,15-hexaazatricyclo[13.3.1.16,10]eicosane, was prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, Raman spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray analysis of [Cu(ACE)(SCN)2] reveals an elongated octahedral geometry around the copper atom in a centrosymmetric CuN6 environment.

The synthesis and characterization of an octahedral cobalt(III) complex of the octaamine ligand 5,5-bis(4-amino-2-azabutyl)-3,7-diazanonane-1,9-diamine, [co( asen )]3+, is described. Two approaches to the preparation of encapsulated derivatives of [Co(asen)]3+ are also described. The first approach involves reaction of [Co(asen)]3+ with nitromethane and formaldehyde in the presence of base. After extensive chromatographic purification [(1-(4-amine-2-azabutyl)-8-nitro-3,6,10,13,16,19-hexaazabicyclo[6.6.6] icosane )cobalt(III)]5+ was isolated. The second more convenient method employs precautionary protection of the pendant primary amine of [Co( asen )]3+, as the benzenesulfonate, prior to reaction with the same capping reagents. Both approaches result in an encapsulated complex bearing a pendant 4-amine-2-azabutyl moiety. The protecting group is stable under reaction conditions required for successive chemical modifications of the capping nitro group to amine, chloro and proton capped cages, but is readily removed in refluxing acidic solution.
