The relevance of this research is due to the wide prevalence of addictive behavior and the insufficient knowledge of the coping strategies of patients and their families. The purpose of this research was to investigate the resource factors and coping strategies of adults with alcohol-addicted parents and to make recommendations for psychological counseling for these people. The sample consisted of 52 subjects—who were participants in a twelve-step rehabilitation program for adult people whose parents had alcohol addictions—and 50 controls. We used guilt questionnaires (“The Guilt Inventory Questionnaire”, “The Interpersonal Guilt Questionnaire”), quantitative methods for evaluating the coping strategies used by participants (“coping strategies” (Lazarus, Folkman)), and a phenomenological analysis of the interviews with the participants. The results showed that adults with alcohol-addicted parents felt guilty in situations when they took care of somebody because their own parents did not model (and teach them) caretaking behavior. People whose parents were alcohol addicts tend to avoid accepting responsibility for their lives. The resource factors of people with alcohol-addicted parents included keeping a diary, participation in a rehabilitation program, and confidential communication with other people.

- A large number of studies have aimed at outlining the personality profile of sex offenders; however, due to the heterogenousness of such crime and their perpetrators, this task is very difficult. This study attempts to highlight the different types of sex offenders, their personality profiles, their possible defence mechanisms. Methods: Subjects of this study are male prisoners detained in a special section of the district penitentiary in Velletri (Rome, Italy). All subjects (N=8) were convicted of sexual crimes towards children and/or women. Their mean age is 51. Prisoners on remand were not included in this study. The adopted tools are: a Grid for collecting the anamnesis and the information regarding the crime; the Big Five Questionnaire; the Sesamo. Results and conclusions: Results proved the difficulties to outline a personality profile of sex offenders, but pointed out some common psycho-sexual aspects. These aspects were probably related to the prison situation of the subjects. Key words: sex offenders; personality profile; district penitentiary.

Background:chronic migraine (СM) is a highly disabling neurological disease that is difficult to treat. The success of therapeutic management depends, in part, on psychosocial and personal factors. Aims:we have evaluated the clinical characteristics of patients suffering from СM, depending on the prevailing coping strategy of the individual. Methods:104 people with an established diagnosis of СM were examined, all of them underwent clinical and neurological examination and questionnaire testing. Results:in our group of patients, active behavioral coping strategies (a strategy for solving the problem and seeking social support) prevailed, passive coping was much less common. Patients with active coping strategies had the lowest level of comorbid psychoemotional disorders. Patients with passive coping strategies had a shorter history, the least severity of the effect of migraine, but were comparable in frequency of headaches and time lost due to headaches with patients with active coping strategies. Key words:chronic migraine, coping strategies, comorid disorders, anxiety, depression.
