The article deals with therole of diuretics in treatment of patients suffering from arterial hypertension (AH). We showed evidence-based results of diuretic therapy. We discussed the loop diuretic indications in treatment patients with AH, as well as the possible role of torasemide application in AH patients in certain clinical cases.

: In heart failure (HF) patients, current European Society of Cardiology (ESC) guidelines recommends the use of three loop diuretics (furosemide, torasemide, bumetanide) in order to reduce HF hospitalizations but also to improve symptoms and exercise capacity in patients with signs and/or symptoms of congestion. In addition, for the first time in hypertensive patients, European Society of Hypertension (ESH) guidelines recommend the use of torasemide. This review aimed to summarize the mode of action of loop diuretics, to present their pharmacokinetic characteristics, and to discuss their place in the management of arterial hypertension and heart failure, with special emphasis however on torasemide.

Epoprostenol was the first therapy to be approved for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). In the 20 years since the introduction of this prostacyclin analogue, the outlook for patients with PAH has improved, with survival rates now double those from the era before the development of disease-specific treatments. Today, there are a large amount of data on the clinical role of prostacyclin treatments and a body of evidence attesting the efficacy of epoprostenol in improving exercise capacity, key haemodynamic parameters and PAH symptoms, as well as in reducing mortality. The place of epoprostenol in the therapeutic management of PAH continues to evolve, with the development of new formulations and use in combination with other drug classes. In this review, we provide a historical perspective on the first 20 years of epoprostenol, a therapy that led to evidence-based study of PAH-specific treatments and the subsequent expansion of treatment options for PAH.

The article reviews the current clinical data on the use of one of the modern pharmacological drugs torasemide (Diuver, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., Israel) in the treatment of cardiovascular disease in conditions of comorbidity. Presents a comprehensive view of the problem identified and a reasoned approach to the choice of diuretic therapy with clinico-pathophysiological substantiation of the use of a loop diuretic torasemid. Conceptually formed of a number of provisions on the application of one of the modern diuretic drugs in therapeutic practice in patients with arterial hypertension and heart failure.

Abstract. Two experiments investigate the role of self-regulatory resources in bullshitting behavior (i.e., communicating with little to no regard for evidence, established knowledge, or truth; Frankfurt, 1986 ; Petrocelli, 2018a ), and receptivity and sensitivity to bullshit. It is hypothesized that evidence-based communication and bullshit detection require motivation and considerably greater self-regulatory resources relative to bullshitting and insensitivity to bullshit. In Experiment 1 ( N = 210) and Experiment 2 ( N = 214), participants refrained from bullshitting only when they possessed adequate self-regulatory resources and expected to be held accountable for their communicative contributions. Results of both experiments also suggest that people are more receptive to bullshit, and less sensitive to detecting bullshit, under conditions in which they possess relatively few self-regulatory resources.
