<p>This research analyzes the competitive advantage in order to enhance the marketing performance of oil palm plantation companies in West Kalimantan Province, which aims to: (1) find out the implementation of competitive advantage of the oil palm plantation companies in West Kalimantan Province, (2) find out the achievement of marketing performance of the oil palm plantation companies in West Kalimantan Province, and (3) find out the influence of competitive advantage on the marketing performance of the oil palm plantation companies in West Kalimantan Province. This is a descriptive and verification research that uses a descriptive and explanatory survey on the analysis unit of oil palm plantation companies in West Kalimantan Province. The period of research implementation of two (2) years, divided into two stages; First Stage (2013) and Second Stage (2014). The data are collected using questionnaires as well as interviews and observations. The collected data are further processed using path analysis. The results of the First Stage (2013) research find that only few of the oil palm plantation companies in West Kalimantan Province are able to achieve the marketing performance in high category or above their expected target. This is presumed to be related to the weak competitiveness or competitive advantage of the companies as found in the results of descriptive analysis of this research. In order to understand more of such relatedness, it is necessary to conduct further research of the Second Stage (2014) focusing on investigating the influence of competitive advantage on the marketing performance of oil palm plantation companies in West Kalimantan Province.</p>

Mediation is considered as one of the effective solutions to resolve as well as tool to alter oil palm plantation disputes. This research was conducted with socio-legal approach. The test method was done by descriptive qualitative data analysis which describes a situation or phenomenon with words or sentences then separated by category for the conclusion. This research finding suggests that mediation has played a crucial role especially in decreasing the dispute intensity and achieving the agreement between conflicting parties. Subsequently, Mediation by integrated team of dispute resolution was divided into two stages: first stage was commencement of the mediation process and the second was implementation of mediation. Furthermore, several approaches that can do to alter dispute into a long-term harmonious relationship, namely: first, using the legal certainty approach, second, Company–community partnerships approach and third, capacity building for mediator approach.Keywords: altering dispute, mediation, oil palm plantation

The aims of this research was: (1) to find out the leading commodities in plantation sub sector in Bengkayang District Area, (2) to find out the structure and the production growth of plantation commodities in Bengkayang District Area (2005-2012). Research area was determined purposively in Bengkayang District Area of West Kalimantan. Analysis used in this research is the analysis of Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), Classic Shift Share and Esteban Marquillas Shift Share. LQ analysis show that the leading plantation commodities in Bengkayang are Peppers, Cacao, cloves and hazelnut. DLQ analysis show that the leading plantation commodities in Bengkayang are coconut and hybrid coconut. The combined of LQ and DLQ analysis show that there are two commodities experiencing repositioning of non leading became the leading commodity in the future, ie Hybrid Coconut and Coconut. The commodities that experienced a repositioning of leading became the non leading in the future are Rubber, Pepper, Cocoa, Clove and hazelnut. While commodities that stil remain non leading in the future is oil palm, coffee and Pinang. Based on the classic shift share analysis, shows that in the period 2005 - 2012, commodities that experienced an increase in real growth in Bengkayang are Rubber, Oil Palm, Cocoa, Clove, hazelnut and Pinang. The highest increase in productivity occurred in Palm Oil and Rubber. Esteban - Marquillas shift share analysis shown that the commodities that have a competitive advantage is oil palm, hybrid coconut, cocoa, cloves and hazelnut. Palm oil has the highest competitive advantage in the amount of 8.565,97 tons. Plantation commodities which has the advantage and can improve the allocation of production growth in the plantation crop are Bengkayang Coffee, Cocoa, Clove, Pecan and Pinang. Cocoa has the highest allocation advantages in increasing farm production in Bengkayang. Cocoa is also a commodity that has a competitive advantage and excellence allocation with the highest positive value. Summary The aim of the paper is entering the discussion concerning the sources of competitive advantage in project management in basic local government units in Poland. The focus of the paper is placed on the selected elements of the sources of competitive advantage in basic local government units in Poland, namely tasks implemented in projects. The paper consists of two main parts. In the first part of the paper, a starting point was the presentation of the essence of competitiveness and competitive advantage in the process of project management from the perspective of local government units in Poland. In the second one, the results of the research proceedings concerning the importance of tasks implemented in projects in projects in basic local government units in Poland were discussed. The considerations presented in the paper refer to the results of the research proceedings, which took place in two stages. The first stage of the studies was conducted in 2013 and it concerned the years 2010-2012, the second stage – in 2018, and it concerned the years 2016-2018.
