When the rainy season arrives, flooding is a common phenomenon. Almost every street, housing, village, river, even in the city center, wherever floods can occur. One effort to prevent the flooding is to create a floodgate on reservoirs or dams that are used to control the water distribution. The water level at this dam must be checked frequently to anticipate if the water level is at a dangerous level. The inspection of water levels will be very difficult if it must be conducted by humans who must be available in the field at any time. This research aims to create a prototype system that can replace the human role in monitoring the dam water level condition at any time by developing an integrated system between hardware and software using IoT (Internet of Things) technology approach and social media (twitter and telegram). The developed system consists of the height sensor (distance), microcontroller and wifi module, which is placed on the water gate. This system serves to measure the water level at any time and send data in real time to the server. The results of system testing performed shows that when the system is in normal circumstances, the system sends data to the server every minute, and updates the status of water level in twitter every 5 minutes. In case the water level has exceeded a predetermined limit, the system sends data to the server every 5 seconds and passes the warning message to all registered telegram contacts.

The COVID-19 pandemic exploded at the beginning of 2020, with over four million cases in five months, overwhelming the healthcare sector. Several national governments decided to adopt containment measures, such as lockdowns, social distancing, and quarantine. Among these measures, contact tracing can contribute in bringing under control the outbreak, as quickly identifying contacts to isolate suspected cases can limit the number of infected people. In this paper we present BubbleBox, a system relying on a dedicated device to perform contact tracing. BubbleBox integrates Internet of Things and software technologies into different components to achieve its goal—providing a tool to quickly react to further outbreaks, by allowing health operators to rapidly reach and test possible infected people. This paper describes the BubbleBox architecture, presents its prototype implementation, and discusses its pros and cons, also dealing with privacy concerns.

With new innovations and technologies world besides being facilitated is also subjected to face the threat of major misadventures and disasters. Likewise, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is generally used in household for kitchen in general and gas geysers or heaters in winter. Similarly, industries use it for different causes for instance furnace, boiling and get higher production at cheaper rate. Besides, this gas is igneous gas and can cause potential hazard at any time. Hence, in this paper research is made on Internet of Things (IOT) to reduce the chances of such mishaps by presenting a model of microcontroller-based LPG gas detecting and warning system. Furthermore, it explicates the development of self-directed android based mobile device for gas leakage detection that can be installed in all sort of places. Moreover, this device would be containing MQ6 sensor to detect the unwanted outflow and GPS module to locate particular location of leakage what is more Arduino is installed to disseminate information of leakage to different servers like Smartphones, Email and buzzer and shall give display on LCD. Subsequently, it will send the mobile alert to authorized and concerned authorities to take action with in time and there would be buzzer installed. In addition, this device promises automatic working with no need of human interference and assures reliability, efficiency along with cost-effectiveness check-ups of pipeline.

India is a nation of Mega-Diversity.There are large number of plants and wild animals. One of the most common problem India which is facing today is the wildlife conflicts. There are several areas and farms which are more in risk to wildlife attacks. Elephant crop raiding is very common in most of these places. An average of 250 human death by elephants are reported from India. In this paper we have tried to give a digital solution with the help of the popular Internet of Things which can give an awareness or warning to the local people about the movement of elephants in forest areas by detecting the infrasound communication of elephants. The warning will be given by an android based application.

Mountain torrent is one of major natural disasters for humans. With the development of the Internet of things, the instrumented terminals, through which the host PC could obtain the real-time water and rainfall information and could alert to a coming disaster, have been widely applied to mountain torrent warning system. In order to ensure the effectiveness of network alerting, the program in the terminals need to be updated for some specific situations, but large quantities of terminals are usually built in complex terrain and fragmented geographically, so that it is difficult and expensive to update or repair the programs. In this paper, a method of remote update, realized on the BAM-4300 hydrologic remote terminal to update the complex programs via GPRS modules, was highly reliable. Experiments show that this method is of safety and reliability, and cumbersome processes of onsite update and maintenance could be avoided.

As a wisdom water conservancy, mountain torrent disaster monitoring and early-warning system is an especially information part of flood prevention and drought resisting information support, and plays a very important role in the flood prevention and drought resisting in the water conservancy industry. The integration of mountain torrent disaster monitoring and early-warning system in water conservancy with the internet of things and the establishment of intelligent things networking system based on automation and control provide decision-making supports for flood prevention and mountain torrent disaster early-warning, aiming at safeguard the life and property securities of people. Therefore, by taking Zhaojue County of Liangshan Yi autonomous prefecture (an area with frequent mountain torrent disaster in Sichuan province) as an example, the implementation plan of mountain torrent disaster monitoring and early-warning system is reviewed in this paper.
