Abstract—Dogs are one of the favorite animals that are commonly maintained by humans. Like humans, dogs can also be affected by illness. One common illness suffered by dogs is skin disease. Dog skin diseases that are not immediately handled properly can worsened his condition and can pass it on to other animals even humans. To minimize the problem, we create an expert system to diagnose skin diseases in dogs. In order to support the process, the expert system uses Case Based Reasoning (CBR) method with the algorithm K-Nearest Neighbour (K-NN). The application of K-NN algorithm on CBR's knowledge-based system can provide quick and practical diagnostic results and provide the right advice to the sufferer to obtain alternative treatment information that suits the type of disease. The weight value of the CBR method gained from the classification between symptoms is heavy, moderate, and mild. The appearance of the weight value of each symptom of each disease in the case sample data will be used in the calculation process to obtain the result of a percentage of skin diseases in dogs. The results obtained from this research are the types of diseases suffered and the solution of the disease. Based on system testing of 12 disease data with 27 symptom data obtained at 100% accuracy.

Heart disease is a condition when the heart is experiencing a disorder. The forms of disturbance that are experienced are usually various. Usually there is a disturbance in the blood vessels of the heart, heart rate, heart cover, or congenital problems. The heart itself is a muscle consisting of four chambers. That is, the first two rooms are located at the top, the atrium (foyer) to the left and right. Then the other two rooms are at the bottom, namely the right and left ventricles. To provide information on how to diagnose the type of disease and how to control heart disease, an application of an expert system that can represent someone who is an expert in their field is needed to provide solutions to this disease problem using the Case-Based Reasoning method with the Sorensen Coeffient approach. The result of this research is the creation of an expert system for diagnosing heart disease using the Case-Based Reasoning method with the Sorensen Coeffient approach which is able to provide solutions to heart disease. Keywords:CBR, Expert system, Heart Disease, Method Sorensen Coeffient.

Mental retardation is an intellectual disability characterized by intelligence being below average. People who are mentally retarded can learn new abilities, but the pace of learning is very slow. There are problems that often occur in the detection that children have mental retardation, especially by parents due to the lack of knowledge of the parents about this, resulting in the mistake of choosing the right type of learning for children. If this is allowed to continue, it will result in the child's mental condition getting worse. Due to these problems, a solution is offered in the form of an expert system application with the Case Based Reasoning (CBR) method, this method will match the symptom data of the old disease with the symptom data consulted by the user so that the similarity number of each type of mental retardation will be produced. The final result of this study is the percentage value of similarity along with recommendations in the form of suggestions and solutions that will be carried out by parents in providing independent education to children with mental retardation. The results obtained were in the form of mental retardation with a percentage of 0%, disabled with a percentage of 82.35%, with disabilities with a percentage of 0%.

Laptop is an electronic device that is very widely used today, so the damage to this tool is the most frequently found case. Very many laptop users do not understand the type and level of damage. So researchers conducted this research in making it easier for users to detect laptop damage earlier. This study uses an Expert System that functions as a substitute for experts as a media consultation. The method used is Case Based Reasoning of laptop damage data on Lutfi Computer. The results of this study can detect damage more quickly and precisely in helping users to find the right solution to overcome the damage. So this research is very helpful for laptop users in general in overcoming early on accurately, so users can determine an accurate solution in dealing with damage to their laptops.

The increased complexity of power plants is driving companies to look for ways to effectively capture and re-use know-how acquired in the form of experience made by personnel involved in troubleshooting. In recent years, there has been much progress in the fields of knowledge management in general, and artificial intelligence in particular. One such technology with its roots in cognitive psychology is called case-based reasoning. This paper begins with an overview of the organizational knowledge creation process in general, a description of a technology called case-based reasoning, and an analysis of the advantages of case-based reasoning compared to more classic knowledge-based systems. It then describes what is at stake in the maintenance of mission-critical, high-technology equipment in the power industry, followed by a description of a second-generation expert system based on case-based reasoning that is designed to effectively capture and reuse troubleshooting knowledge within a large organization. Finally, it will illustrate other issues that can be addressed, such as staff turnover, availability of experts, etc..

Based on the authors previous work of developing an expert system for fault diagnosis of CNC machine tool, this paper studied the theory and method of CNC remote fault diagnosis expert system based on B/S, and presents schema and structure of the expert system in detailed. Case based reasoning is used for the multi-alarm diagnosis, and rule based reasoning is used for single-alarm diagnosis. At last fault diagnosis expert system was designed and developed making use of C# and ASP.NET.
