The cost of pile foundations is part of the super structure cost, and it became necessary to reduce this cost by studying the pile types then decision-making in the selection of the optimal pile type in terms of cost and time of production and quality .So The main objective of this study is to solve the time–cost–quality trade-off (TCQT) problem by finding an optimal pile type with the target of "minimizing" cost and time while "maximizing" quality. There are many types In the world of piles but  in this paper, the researcher proposed five pile types, one of them is not a traditional, and   developed a model for the problem and then employed particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm, as one of evolutionary algorithms with the help of (Mat lab software), as a tool for decision making problem about choosing the best alternative of the traded piles, and proposes a multi objective optimization model, which aims to optimize the time, cost and quality of the pile types, and assist in selecting the most appropriate pile types. The researcher selected 10 of senior engineers to conduct interviews with them.  And prepared some questions for interviews and open questionnaire. The individuals are selected from private and state sectors each one have 10 years or more experience in pile foundations work. From personal interviews and field survey the research has shown that most of the experts, engineers are not fully aware of new soft wear techniques to helps them in choosing alternatives, despite their belief in the usefulness of using modern technology and software. The Problem is multi objective optimization problem, so after running the PSO algorithm it is usual to have more than one optimal solution, for five proposed pile types, finally the researcher  evaluated and  discussed the output results and  found out that pre-high tension spun (PHC)pile type was the optimal pile type.

Particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm has been widely applied in solving multi-objective optimization problems(MOPs) since it was proposed. However, PSO algorithms updated the velocity of each particle using a single search strategy, which may be difficult to obtain approximate Pareto front for complex MOPs. In this paper, inspired by the theory of P system, a multi-objective particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm based on the framework of membrane system(PMOPSO) is proposed to solve MOPs. According to the hierarchical structure, objects and rules of P system, the PSO approach is used in elementary membranes to execute multiple search strategy. And non-dominated sorting and crowding distance is used in skin membrane for improving speed of convergence and maintaining population diversity by evolutionary rules. Compared with other multi-objective optimization algorithm including MOPSO, dMOPSO, SMPSO, MMOPSO, MOEA/D, SPEA2, PESA2, NSGAII on a benchmark series function, the experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm is not only feasible and effective but also have a better convergence to true Pareto front.

The models for many problems in cylinder helical gear design are all multi-objective optimization. But there isn’t an effective algorithm for solving multi-objective optimization, and now the only method for it is changing multi-objective into one objective by weighted average. In this paper a novel multi-objective optimization method based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is designed for applying to solve this kind of problem. A paradigm depicted in the paper shows the algorithm is practical.

In recent years, integration between companies, suppliers or organizational departments attracted much attention. Decision making about integration encounters with major concerns. One of these concerns is which units should be integrated and what is the effect of integration on performance measures. In this paper the problem of decision making unit (DMU) integration is considered. It is tried to integrate DMUs so that the considered criteria are satisfied. In this research two criteria are considered that are mean of efficiencies of DMUs and the difference between DMUs that have largest and smallest efficiencies. For this purpose multi objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) is applied. A case with 17 DMUs is considered. The results show that integration has increased both considered criteria effectively.  Additionally this approach can presents different alternatives for decision maker (DM) that enables DM to select the final decision for integration.
