Bangli Regency is one of Regency in the Bali Province. The total area of  Bangli Regency is 52,081 hectares (9.24%) of total area of Bali Province (563,666 ha). The Growth and the development of the region Bangli Regency the positive impacts on the economy of the community, and the negative impacts on the environment. Land use change is one of the negative issue of development Bangli Regency. This study conduted the calculation of land use change from 1997 to 2014 using Landsat data in Bangli Regency. Landsat 5 TM, Landsat 7 ETM+ and Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS imageries were used to determine the land use map based, on using supervised classification method. The field data set the nine classes were classtuded based, on the classification were fresh water, bare land, forest, residential, bushes, irrigated paddy field, non irrigated paddy field, dry land and plantation. There results showed in land use changes from 1997 to 2014 that plantation increased (19,486.33 ha (36.89%)), and residential increased (1,872.00 ha (3.47%)), there is also a vast to reduction in dry land  (-10,868.90 ha (-21.21%)), forest (-6,333.34 ha (-12.24%)), irrigated paddy field (-1,619.50 ha (-3.17%)), bushes (-1,637.30 ha (-3.27%)), bare land (-63.00 ha (-0.17%)), non irrigated paddy field (-113.59 ha ( -0.26%)) and fresh water (-2.70 ha (-0.05%). The results accuracy rate was 89.45%. Anslyse of land use showed that the significant decrease of plantation area in Bangli Regency hill due to rapid development of infrastrusture of tourism and extensive residential area has increased particularly in sub district of the Kintamani District.

Population growth, increasing income, and the rapid economic development create complexity of land issues. Land has a central role in  food production, however demand for land increased significantly to meet the needs of the population. Cianjur Regency is one of regencies in the southern part of West Java Province with the largest paddy field area. However, paddy field conversion into non agricultural land or another agricultural land resulted in the decrease of paddy field area. Therefore, in the context of maintaining the availability of rice in Cianjur Regency, this study aimed to: (1) analyze the patterns of land use/land cover, (2) evaluate land suitability for paddy field, and (3) analyze the potency of land for paddy field expansion. Land use change was identified using Landsat imagery of 2000 and 2015 by using fusion techniques. Land suitability for paddy field was analyzed using limiting factor method. Potential for paddy field expansion was analyzed according to land suitability and agricultural land allocation in official regional land use plan map (“RTRW”). The results showed that in the period of 2000 to 2015, most of paddy field were converted into settlements. Land suitability classes for paddy field in Cianjur Regency were not suitable (N) (61.19%), suitable (S2) (9.53%), and marginally suitable (S3)(29.28%). Cianjur Regency still has the potency of land to be used for paddy field expansion of 148,980 ha. Keywords: Land use change, potential area for paddy field priority, land suitability for paddy field

Abstract Economic growth encourages development growth in the Gerbangkertosusila (or can be shortened as GKS) region, which is a challenge for the agricultural sector. The phenomenon of changing the function of paddy fields to developed land because of the high demand for land can threaten the food security of a region. This research will model the trend of land use change and its impact on food security in GKS region in the next 20 years using cellular automata methods and quantitative statistics. Data collection was carried out by literature studies, field observations and interviews through questionnaires to relevant stakeholders. The results of the spatial modeling analysis of the paddy field conversion trend show that there are three regions that have the highest conversion rate of paddy fields in the GKS region, namely Sidoarjo, Gresik and Surabaya City. After further analysis related to food demand projections and rice production projections is carried out, Surabaya and Sidoarjo Regency is currently experiencing a food deficit which could last even in the years ahead. Having this result, the role of several other regencies such as Lamongan and Mojokerto Regency is needed in maintaining food security in the GKS region.

Abstract As an important wetland in the world, Poyang Lake wetland is constantly changing its land use mode due to economic development and human activities, thus affecting the ecological environment of wetland.Landsat remote sensing images from 1986 to 2020 are utilized to obtain land use information data through supervised classification and interpretation. Combined with ENVI and ArcGIS software, five land use type maps are generated by taking 8 years or so as the interval period. Land use transfer matrix and land use dynamic attitude are adopted. This paper analyzes the wetland land use change in Poyang Lake and explores the driving factors of wetland land use change in Poyang Lake. The results show that the wetland land use types in Poyang Lake will change greatly from 1985 to 2020, and the change range of construction land, mudflat, paddy field and dry land is relatively large and shows an increasing trend. The area of water and grassland decreased on the whole, and the transferred area was large, which was mainly transferred to construction land, paddy field and dry land. The woodland area increased slowly, but the change range was not large from the perspective of dynamic attitude. The change of wetland area of reed flat decreased first and then increased, and the overall land use change was relatively gentle.According to the grey correlation analysis, the total population and annual precipitation are the main driving factors of land use change in Poyang Lake wetland.Through the above research, it provides important reference for wetland protection and land resource management of Poyang Lake.

Human activities and the demand for biomass and biobased energy can lead to changes in land use. Songyuan City is a typical farming-pastoral ecotone in northeast China, to investigate the land use change in this area, the Landsat TM/OLI remote sensing images in 2000, 2010 and 2019 were analyzed. The land use in the ecotone in 2030 was predicted, as well as the changing characteristic of its ecosystem services value (ESV). The results showed that paddy field has had the highest annual growth rate and the ESV has increased by 338.6 million Chinese Yuan (CNY) in the past 19 years. The areas of dry field, paddy field, water bodies, wetland, and building land showed an upward trend with the dry field having the most growth of 49,596 hm2, whereas the areas of forestland, meadowland, and unused land showed a downward trend; and ESV increases from 3.5714 billion CNY in 2010 to 3.6236 billion CNY in 2030. Accuracy check and sensitivity analysis indicated a reliable result, which could provide reference to the ecologically sustainable development.

<div><p class="AbstractEnglish">The increasing of paddy field change has threatened the fulfillment of rice needs. The objective of this research is to analyze the spatial pattern of land use change, to predict land use change in 2030, to arrange rice availability balance sheet in 2030 and to arrange land use direction to support rice availability in Brebes and Cilacap Regencies. The rate of paddy field change started from 2005 till 2015 in Brebes regency higher than the rate of change in Cilacap. Land use change model is built using cellular automata (CA) approach. The prediction in 2030 have shown settlements will be growing while the paddy field will have more high pressure. The prediction of paddy field in both of Regency. The calculation in 2030 shows that either Brebes regency or Cilacap regency has already surplus with the amount of rice surplus from year to year constantly will decrease. To maintain the rice availability, paddy field is directed to be protected. Shrub and mix crop are directed to be paddy field to increase rice production</p></div>
