The technological process of water treatment automatic control of the steelmaking converter, hardware and software design of the control system are introduced in this paper. The design and realization of water supply automatic control system are based on the S7-400 Programmable Logic Controller.

<p><em>Ruber Tyred Gantry (RTG) is heavy equipment for lifting containers from the jetty to the container stacking place or vice versa. It is found in all container terminals. RTG is almost the same as a Container Crane (CC) but its functions and movements are more dynamic. The CC is used on the jetty and attached to the edge of the jetty while RTG is more usable and efficient than other heavy equipment. Koja, Jakarta’s containers terminal has 25 RTG Units that operate and use a PLC (Programmable Logic Control) system for running the Spreaders, Gantries, Trolleys and Wheels as needed. RTG also capable of serving 5 to 6 lines in each block. The results of this study stated that the problems that occurred on the RTG includes: the burnout of the Gantry motor caused by the dirty motor, the broken twist lock that could cause collision between containers and also the lack of skill or understanding  of the RTG operator.</em></p><p><strong><em>Keywords:</em></strong><em> Containers, Spreaders, Twist lock</em></p><p> </p><p align="center"> </p><p><em>Ruber tyred Gantry (RTG) </em>adalah suatu alat berat yang terdapat di semua tempat terminal peti kemas yang berguna untuk mengangkat <em>Container</em> (peti kemas) dari dermaga ke tempat penumpukan <em>Container</em> atau sebaliknya. RTG ini hampir sama dengan alat berat <em>Container Crane</em> (CC) tetapi fungsi dan pergerakannya lebih dinamis. CC digunakan di dermaga dan menempel di pinggir dermaga sedangkan RTG lebih leluasa digunakan dan lebih efisien dari alat berat lainnya. Di terminal peti kemas koja Jakarta memiliki 25 Unit RTG yang beroperasi dan memakai system PLC (<em>Programmable Logic Control</em>) dari menggerakan <em>Spreader,Gantry, Troley</em> dan Roda untuk berjalan sesuai keinginan operator. RTG mampu melayani 5 sampai 6 baris  dalam setiap blok. Hasil dari <em>study</em> ini menyatakan bahwa permasalahan yang terjadi pada RTG antara lain: kebakarnya motor <em>Gantry</em> yang di sebabkan kotornya pada bagian dalam motor, patahnya <em>twist lock</em> yang disebabkan terbentur pada <em>container</em> dan juga kurangnya kecakapan atau pemahaman operator pada alat RTG.</p><strong>Kata kunci :<em> </em></strong><em>Container, Spreader,Twist lock</em>

This paper presents a study and investigation of an improvement of boiler efficiency with an automatic control of air quantity into a combustion chamber. A fire tube boiler with a fixed gate and screw conveyor for feeding fuel was used to test the automatic control system, and a sub-bituminous was used as a fuel for this study. The increase in boiler efficiency was based on controlling amount of air quantity for fuel combustion before entering to the combustion chamber using fuzzy logic control algorithm. Automatic combustion control was achieved by measuring the amount of Oxygen gas (O2) from flue gas stack. From the experimental results, it was indicated that the automatic control system can control the average amount of O2 in flue gas at 11.09% when the O2 in the flue gas was set at 10%. The boiler efficiency was increased by 4.34%, and the energy consumption was reduced to have a fuel saving of 195.88 ton/year.
