RESTful Web Service as Data Generator for Reporting of Academic Information System

Perjuangan University is developing an information system in its campus, but the system is partially built. This has resulted in its own problems, there is no connectivity between systems and the difficulty of developing data integration. So that in the business process that occurs many experience difficulties in data synchronization and the amount of duplicate data that must be entered. One solution to overcome this problem is to utilize web service technology. The web service architecture used is REST. REST as a bridge that is able to integrate data in a stateless format. The results of the application of the web service as a backend system are able to integrate the existing academic information systems and library information systems without changing existing structures, programs or architecture. Format data exchange between systems using the JSON format. In addition, officers do not need to input and verify data several times, when the data in the library information system changes automatically in the academic information system the changes are immediately read.

The Complexity Metric Diagram is a method of measuring software complexity. This method uses Class Diagrams as test parameters. This study uses test data from previous research regarding the design of Information Systems accompanied by Class Diagrams with case studies of School Academic Information Systems. The facts found in the field that school software developers do not conduct application audits so it is not ripe to face problems that will arise in the future. The results of the calculation of the complexity metrics in the School Academic Information System produce an output of 993.32 units.

Abstract. Atma Jaya Yogyakarta University Library is one of the supporting units in academic activities. Currently the library has been using information systems to improve services to users and increase the effectiveness of business processes, in terms of dealing with the circulation of books. There are facts that the search of library book collection has not been optimal and there has not been a history facility for borrowing books by the users. Those problems can be solved by the use of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), which integrates web service on android. The results of this study are android-based applications that implement Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) using web services to integrate the academic information system, library information system and employee information system. So that the exchange of data and information can run more easily and quickly.Keywords: Service Oriented Architecture, Android, Web Service, Book Collection, Library Â Abstrak. Perpustakaan Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta adalah salah satu unit pendukung dalam kegiatan akademis. Saat ini perpustakaan telah menggunakan sistem informasi untuk meningkatkan layanan kepada pengguna dan meningkatkan efektifitas proses bisnisnya, termasuk dalam hal menangani masalah sirkulasi buku. Namun terdapat permasalahan yaitu belum optimalnya pencarian koleksi buku perpustakaan dan belum ada fasilitas histori peminjaman buku oleh anggota. Permasalahan tersebut dapat diselesaikan dengan penggunaan Service Oriented Architecture, yaitu mengintegrasikan web service pada android. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah aplikasi berbasis android yang menerapkan Service Oriented Architecture menggunakan web service untuk mengintegrasikan sistem informasi akademik, sistem informasi perpustakaan dan sistem informasi kepegawaian, sehingga pertukaran data dan informasi dapat semakin mudah dan cepat.Kata Kunci: Service Oriented Architecture, Android, Web Service, Koleksi Buku, Perpustakaan

One of the tasks of a university is teaching. To keep the quality by improving the teaching qualifications, materials, teaching facilities, and infrastructure. but, one of the important things is to keep the quality of teaching. The quality of teaching can be measured from the feedback of the students. Informatics Department of Mataram University has a system to get feedback from its students called SIKBM (a questioner system for teaching). Unfortunately, not of all the students will fill this questioner because there is no interest for the students. So, we apply a web service system that connects SIKBM and SIA (academic information system). It will force the students to access SIKBM as a requirement to fill KRS (Course selection sheet) on SIA. The result shows that on even semester of 2017, we gain feedback for all of the courses we did not get in the previous years.

<p>The student attendance is one of the important aspects of the education process to assess the level of discipline of students and be an indicator of whether students need specific guidance related to the attendance. This research aims to design a web-based information system with RESTful web service architecture to help teachers activities for checking student attendance and recapitulation of data recording with more easily. This research uses the methods of research and development (R&D) and implemented at SMK 2 Batik Surakarta. System development method that used in the information system is Waterfall Model. The steps of Waterfall Model consist of analysis, design, code, and test. The end result of this research is the feasibility of the system based on the results of testing on the aspects of functionality yielded a value of 1 (good) while on the aspects of usability obtained percentage amounting to 81.47% (very high), so it can be inferred that This system is worth to use.</p>
