The mother-child picture test (MCPT) was administered to 100 pairs of mothers and their 7-8-year-old children. A drawing of a woman feeding a small child was presented with a perceptgenetic technique, i.e., tachistoscopically in a series of 20 presentations starting with subthreshold exposure values which were successively prolonged. Subjects were asked to describe the picture. It was found that when a mother reacted "negatively" to the stimulus her child was also likely to do so. The scoring categories were validated against the results of a parallel mother-child study. It was concluded that the MCPT presented with a perceptgenetic technique reflects essential aspects of mother-child relations.

The present study examined the influence of different test modi on the relationship between two different sustained attention (SA) tests – one with predominant processing and one with predominant perception demands – and a test of selective attention. Therefore, each attention test was presented in five different modi (paper-pencil, self-paced with item blocks, self-paced with single items, computer-paced with item blocks, computer-paced with single items) and administered to 110 participants. The original versions of different tests correlated only weakly to moderately. But when these tests were modified to correspond in terms of modus, they showed strong correlations. For tests with a predominant perception demand MTMM analyses revealed that the pace modus (self-paced vs. computer-paced) had a higher impact than the tests themselves. A measurement model was established with two attention test factors and three modus factors. The modi of test presentation proved to be distinguishable and accounted for 59.9% of variance in the task set. It is argued that the attention facet tapped by different tests is a function of the task itself, but also of the way this task is presented.

Though numerous investigators have studied the impairing effects of protective hand-wear on manual dexterity, no standardized test battery has yet been developed for this purpose. In designing such a battery for the U.S. Air Force, a large number of commercially available tests were screened; candidate tests were then more carefully scrutinized, tried out on subjects and, in some cases, modified as a result of the preliminary trials. Considerations which warrant particular attention in selecting and refining candidate tests from a large field include: ease of administration, scoring procedures, number of practice trials required to control learning effects, types of subjects used, duration and order of test presentation. Further refinement could result in a definitive test battery which would streamline the work of future investigators in this field, and would make possible the comparative analysis of results.

This research is an analysis and a synthesis of research papers and case studies concerning the project-based learning management. The brainstorming among experts as well as their opinions on learning management process are utilized to define an appropriate learning process for students in vocational and technical education in Thailand. The results of this research reveal that the project-based learning management process for vocational education consists of 5 steps, i.e. preparation, topic definition, creation and test, presentation, and evaluation. This is compliant with the concepts of experts, aligning the teacher and student roles in the same direction, which can be used as a learning management process as to the vocational curricula. Thus, the project-based learning management is an approach of instructional management that is in consistence with the development of vocational students in Thailand. The objective thereof is to provide learners with skills in creating inventions and innovations in the form of projects. Also, learners are encouraged to have attributes and skills of presentation, talk and communication with others, originality, critical thinking, creative thinking, and ability to work well with others; all of these are in accordance to the 21st century skills.

The Petrie Block Test was used to measure kinesthetic aftereffect in a sample of 60 normal adult female subjects. In addition to the establishment of normative data for this sample, several procedural questions raised by other investigators were addressed. It was determined that the use of ascending trials produced more accurate baseline measures than the alternate use of ascending and descending trials. Also, order of test presentation affected baseline measures. Since a rather large proportion of this sample was comprised of stimulus-governed individuals, some factors related to their particular perceptual style were examined.

Scores obtained when the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale was administered by a trained examiner were compared with those obtained when the test was administered mechanically. Ss, 40 university students, were given half the items of the WAIS Verbal scale by an examiner and half by machine. Analysis of the scores obtained under these two modes of test presentation, using Lindquist's Type V “mixed” design, showed no significant differences in performance, except for the Information subtest. Scores on the Information subtest, when administered by the examiner, were significantly higher than when administered mechanically.
