Different models have been used in the finance literature to predict the stock market returns. However, it remains an open question whether non-linear models can outperform linear models while providing accurate predictions for future returns. This study examines the prediction of the non-linear artificial neural network (ANN) models against the baseline linear regression models. This study aims specifically to compare the prediction performance of regression models with different specifications and static and dynamic ANN models. Thus, the analysis was conducted on a growing market, namely the Amman Stock Exchange. The results show that the trading volume and interest rates on loans tend to explain the monthly returns the most, compared to other predictors in the regressions. Moreover, incorporating more variables is not found to help in explaining the fluctuations in the stock market returns. More importantly, using the root mean square error (RMSE), as well as the mean absolute error statistical measures, the static ANN becomes the most preferred model for forecasting. The associated forecasting errors from these metrics become equal to 0.0021 and 0.0005, respectively. Lastly, the analysis conducted with the dynamic ANN model produced the highest RMSE value of 0.0067 since November 2018 following the amendment to the Jordanian income tax law. The same observation is also seen since the emerging of the COVID-19 outbreak (RMSE = 0.0042).

Securities market turnover is one of the major behavioral phenomena of stock market. It always depends on the demand and supply of the securities, so the market turnover assumes a number of trading share units, values of share turnover and percentage share value of stocks. This paper is concerned to analyze the different areas of stock units’ turnover and value coverage of stock market .descriptive research design is applied for analyzing the stock market condition. An investor must be able to consider all kinds of steps that will be taken or that will be carried out, assessing stocks - shares that will provide optimal benefits in making an investment decision. By analyzing the intrinsic value of the price of a company's stock, investors can assess the fairness of the stock price. The method used to analize intrinsic value is fundamental analysis using the Price Earning Ratio (PER) approach. The samples to be taken in this research are manufacturing companies in Indonesia which are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2016 - 2017 with certain criteria. The results of this research will show that the shares of companies listed are in overvalued, undervalued or correctly valued conditions. So investors can decide to buy, hold or sell their shares.

This paper examines the nonlinear effect of monetary policy decisions on the performance of the Nigerian Stock Exchange market, by employing the Smooth Transition Autoregressive (STAR) model on monthly data from 2013 M4 to 2019 M12 for All Share Index and monetary policy instrument. This study considers the two regimes characterizing the stock market, which are the lower regime (the bear market) and the upper regime (the bull market). The results show evidence of nonlinear effect of monetary policy on the stock exchange market. Monetary policy rate, money supply, lagged monetary policy rate and lagged treasury bill rate are found to have significant positive effects on the stock exchange market in the lower regime while current treasury bill rate shows a negative effect. In the upper regime, money supply and lagged treasury bill rate have significant negative effect on the stock market. The current treasury bill rate is found to have a positive effect on the stock exchange market. It is recommended that the Central Bank of Nigeria should maintain a stable money supply growth that is consistent with increased activities in the Nigerian stock market.

An investor considers various factors to choose the financial assets. The portfolio theory suggests that risk, return, taxes, information and liquidity are vital factors in portfolio choice. The study is based on risk premium, uncertainty, shocks and volatility of Pakistan stock exchange market. The study has used monthly time series data of returns of ten sectors of Pakistan stock market ranging from 2006 to 2014 to measure the anticipated and unanticipated factors of risk, return and uncertainty. Using CAPM, it is pointed out that volatility factor is present and high in overall stock market and the level of volatility in different sectors of the market moves in the same direction which suggest that speculative activities are widely spread in every sector and in overall market as well.

In the article analyzes the development of the domestic stock market. It is substantiated that crop futures are a derivative financial instrument on the stock exchange, which provides for the obligation of its seller or buyer to periodically transfer sums of money to the opposite party depending on changes in the market price of grain, and (or) the obligation delivery of grain on time. It is determined that only under the conditions of joint efforts on the part of the state, the exchange community, participants of the agrarian market that will allow bringing the exchange commodity market closer to civilized bases.

The focus of the study is to test the stock market performance influence on the economic growth for time series for the period of 2002 to 2018 on quarterly basis. In this study, the performance measures included standard deviation which is measure of volatility, total value traded shared as measure of liquidity, turnover ratio as measure of liquidity, and stock market capitalization ratio as a measure of the size. The focus of the study is the Malaysian stock exchange market. The study utilized real GDP as an indicator of economic growth. The exchange rate and the interest rates are used as control variables. The study used Vector Autoregressive model and the Granger causality test are utilized for finding the directional relationship between the stock market and economic growth connection. Results states that variables are statistically insignificant and there is no meaningful relationship found.
